UPDATE - was in town 1 year after my initial visit. Ordered the falafel plate again to see if it was as good as before. It absolutely was! My husband said it was the best falafel he'd ever had. The salad and hummus sides were also delicious. BTW - the falafel is gluten free (without the pita) as are many other dishes on their menu. In summary, my falafel plate was the tastiest plate of food I've eaten in a restaurant in recent memory. It's so rare for EVERYTHING on the plate to be fantastic and full-flavored. Often, the entee will be tasty but the sides are lackluster. The Mediterranean food at Cambria Cafe was delicious: *I think these were the best falafel I've ever had: crispy, nicely spiced and light. Be sure to use the tahini sauce! *Hummus was delicious! Also very well flavored and light - not super dense *The salad was very, very tasty! Love the dressing and it was nicely dressed. *Pickles were really good - daikon? I spoke to the owners and they are delightful people. The wife is the chef. She said this food is what you might eat in Syria or Lebanon. I didn't try the grape leaves because I was too full to order them but I recommend you do as they sound way better than the typical ones.

It used to be a Mediterranean spot, but a few months ago they switched over to a Mexican-American café, and the change has been such a good one. Just a heads up — most of the older photos on here don’t reflect what they’re serving now, so don’t let that throw you off. I had the Denver omelette and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Super flavorful, perfectly cooked. The hash browns were just how I like them — crispy on the outside, soft inside. I ate them so fast I didn’t even get a chance to take a photo (no regrets). The place itself has a super cozy, homey vibe — kind of like a little casita — and they had Banda music playing, which really brought the whole experience together. It just felt good being there. My wife tried the cranberry mimosa, and it was spot on — sweet but not too much, with champagne from San Antonio that gave it a nice touch. We split the French toast at the end, and it was the perfect way to finish — warm, soft, and just sweet enough. We left full and happy. Definitely coming back.

A wonderfully delicious option disguised as an ordinary cafe. Lucky for us, we wanted a late breakfast and assumed a cafe would be the best option for that. We were surprised to find incredibly delicious clam chowder and carne asada. The carne asada was on the steak ranchero omelette, but gave us a clue that their Mexican fare would be pretty delicious. The omelette was pretty great, so back to that. The hash browns were cooked perfectly as well. I always as for hash browns well done and most places don’t get that part right, but they did here. As for my choice, I went with clam chowder and a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. Clam holder was some of the best I have ever had and the best from a cafe. Biscuits and gravy was good, but just that. Not anything I have to try again, but hit the spot. Service was great and didn’t skip a beat considering outside dining and having a dog with us. Refilled our coffees often and brought us all the condiments we needed. Definitely a place we will patron again and again when in the area.

Being of Mediterranean descent, myself, I really want to like this place, however, I have experienced some issues that prevent me from being a regular customer.

When they first opened, my family ordered multiple dishes as takeout from there. The price was a little bit on the high end but we understand that it’s a tourist town and so that kind of is the way that it is. The food was good, but they forgot to put in any pita and also forgot 2 meat skewers from my husband‘s plate. We called to let them know and they said they would make it up next time, though it was a bit disappointing given the price. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring it up next time so I’m not sure whether or not they would’ve honored this.

A couple months later, I called in an order of a few dishes, going off of the menu on their website. When we got there to pick it up, the prices that we were given at checkout were substantially higher than what it said on the website. I showed this to the man at the register, who is one of their regular employees, and he didn’t seem to care, instead being adamant that I pay almost $20 in total more than what was shown on the website. I did, but it really left a bad taste in my mouth and so I haven’t...

Yesterday my wife and I passed by and was excited to see a Lebanese restaurant in town! We spoke with an older gentleman I believe to be the owner. He was delightful and the menu looked fantastic. My wife and I are vegan and Mediterranean food is always accommodating to people like us. However, when we stopped in later that night to pick up some food my wife was taken aback by the extremely rude service she received from the person taking her order. Aside from that, he tried to sneak in a “special request” fee of $2 that my wife asked about. He didn’t say it was mistake or sorry and just removed the charge, it seemed intentional. The food was subpar and bland. The falafel was extremely bitter and they didn’t include the tahini. I can look past the food not meeting our expectations but the rude service from the man at the register is something that really put a bad taste in our mouth. He seemed annoyed we were ordering and rushed my wife as if we were inconveniencing him. They have only been open 8 days from what the older gentleman said and I’m sure they’re working through kinks. But it’s going to be hard to stay in business with that type of...
