Almost got stabbed and robbed after I checked in tonight around 11:15pm. A seemingly homeless about 5'3" young looking and belligerent hispanic dude in a torn up dark hoodie with red insignia and a black baseball standing outside with some other drunk Hispanic men that i could hear but not see well in the dark. He had on some long short pants. He had a fancy looking 6" blade shiny steel blade pocket knife with white shell handle with intricate looking carvings. I had just checked into the room. The room was on the second floor of the backside. I saw 3 or 4 men standing by the door but they moved away while I was gathering my items from the corner store. It was dark and not well lit in the back and one guy walked up to me slowly and in a sketchy way asking for $3 with his fingers. I was on alert because it looked like a set up for him to rob me. The other men were farther away still talking and looking. This nasty looking dude didnt talk English well but was begging for money, he looked very Central American. He kept talking in spanish like he was aggravated and slurring like he was drunk. He would not leave me alone. I told him to back away loudly and repeatedly but he stayed in close range to my car. He got upset again at my refusal give him money and flashed his the knife at me out of his hoodie. I loudly asked him why he had a knife out and showing me the knife. What is the knife for I said. He started waiving $4 fingers saying he was a family man. I told him no, again. After i repeatedly said no! He kept staring at me with the knife in his hand hidden under his hoodie. He took his cap off like he wanted to fight. I told him to beware and I don't take threats making a stance that i will protect myselfif he did not back away. I put my hand in my shoulder bag to make a visible warning. He had a thin face and messy fine black hair in bowl shaped cut that was cropped close to his ears. One of his drinking buddies told him to leave me alone and tried to call him away from me. The other guy was taller heavyset lighter skinned hispanic man who was cleanly dressed and also drunk looking. The short guy stared me down. Still holding his right hand in his pocket. I put my hand in my bag to make sure he knew I was carrying a weapon for self defense. He aggressively grabbed his cap, put it back on while still trying to intimidate me and they all disappeared walking away to the other end of the hotel, when they were out of sight. I put my things in the room and went to the lobby out of worry. The door was locked with a different man inside than before when I checked in. The old man tried to talk to me through a solid glass door and i told him i cant hear him. He eventuallycracked the door open. I told the guy I was wanting to call the police and asked if the cameras was on in the back. He said no. I asked if any of the cameras worked, he did not give an affirmative answer and said I can talk to the manager in the morning. I know it's a cheap smelly room hotel but I thought they had some kind of security to protect guests. I'm calling the police but I just wanted to make people aware. This ruined my night. Read moreI usually enjoy staying at Wyndham properties but this place is by far the worst I have stayed at.
I came in about 9:30 in the morning to request a room. The woman behind the desk looked up at me while she was on the phone. I made my request and she said she didn’t have any rooms at all and the closest was in Victoria, then went back to her conversation, not a business call either.
I went back out to my truck to call Wyndham to assist me. I was pulling a trailer and did not want to drive from place to place.
I needed the room for three nights and surprisingly they did have rooms available and got me booked.
I would have gladly paid for the early check in as I had driven 1400 miles and spent the last two nights in my truck but did not want to deal with the woman inside.
Check in is at 4pm, I went back in just a couple of minutes before 4 there was no one there and the lobby reeked of marijuana. A man came running in with food from outside called me sir and asked how he could help me.
I told him I had a reservation he replied that check in is at 4pm literally 6 minutes away. I said ok, so in just a few minutes he said yes sir, this was annoying me. I’m ugly but it’s still difficult to confuse me as a man.
I step to the side to wait while he helped a gentleman. When he was done he said ok sir, I looked at him. He said it again.
I’m tired and irritated but walk up place my id and money on the counter and he gives me my room, doesn’t tell me where it is But I took the key and went to find it.
First glance seems ok, after I get all my stuff in the room I sit in the chair and the back of the seat is in bad repair and sagging like it’s broke down the middle. Ok, don’t use the chair or I may be picking my big butt up off the floor, check.
I go to the restroom there it’s a bit dirty like it was swept into corners and left there. Little bit of dirt never hurt anyone.
I run out get food and comeback to the room tried turning on the tv. It doesn’t work, I can’t get it powered on by the remote OR on the tv. I unplug it and plug it back in and able to power it on by the console but it’s loud. Buttons do not work, remote will not turn it down and can’t change the channels.
I try to turn it off by the button, nope. Had to unplug it. The tv is sitting on a large screw or something and is tilted, picture was bad. This is going to be a long 3 nights. As they never gave me the wifi password and my service isn’t that great in the room.
By the time I get ready to eat I turned to the fridge and there is no microwave. Cold Chinese it is, once it got late it got noisy out. Really noisy, around 12 it finally quieted down and I went to sleep.
Customer service here is a joke and I hope the other rooms are better than this one. I’m a little disappointed in this place as it is a Wyndham property but will continue using Wyndham but someone needs to definitely work on customer service...

I am writing in regards to an experience I had (4/17/17)at your Super8 Camp Spring location. After a long day of driving from Massachusetts to Maryland we stop at your hotel after booking online. We checked in at 7:08 PM and headed up to our room 274. We had a non-smoking room, yet our room smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. My boyfriend has severe asthma and cannot be around cigarette smoke. Immediately we noticed broken glass on the floor, cobwebs and something on the wall; no big deal but as we further investigated the room we noticed a pipe or some kind of drug paraphernalia under the bedside table(it was a CRACK PIPE). We we're talking amongst ourselves deciding whether or not we would say when I decided to look under the comforter and look at the bed that is when we saw a tick on the bed. We decided that we would not be able to stay here. we were probably in the room for less than 10 minutes. We went to the main office to talk to the woman who worked that night she told us that "there was no glass in the hotel room so she does not know how the class got there" she also said "we don't allow pets" so she did not have any idea where the tick came from. Common sense lady, someone brought in glass and the room was never cleaned! When I told her that we just wanted to leave that we would not be able to stay here I was very polite and she responded that she would have to charge us for that night but would refund us for the rest of our stay 4/17-4/20. She told me that she would check me out the next morning,(4/18) but was not there when I called. She assured me that she would speak to a manager and that I would receive a phone call from a manager in the morning it is almost 8pm on 4/19 as I write this and I have not received a phone call. I have also tried calling a manager 6 times. I do not want this to come off as rude I am just very upset. We were in our room less than 10 minutes, even then she did not offer to help us, maybe have someone clean it up, or find us another room? I would like a full refund. But have still not been refunded or even checked out! I have attached photos of the tick, broken glass and whatever that glass thing is under the side table. I will be contacting corporate, BBB, and health inspector; I'm sure it has tons...
