I cannot say enough good things about Dax at the Capitola Mattress Firm!

I called the store early last week looking for an adjustable base and mattress for a friend who needed a quick solution for when she was soon going to be released from the hospital. As the week wore on, I called back several times to ask questions and get various details sorted, not really knowing a lot about the adjustable mattress base world, and Dax answered all of my questions with kindness and ingenuity to help us make the right decision that would give us what we needed in record time.

We went into the store, tested out the adjustable base, got the rundown of every mattress type that works on the base. Then we asked if we could use our friend's existing mattress model and Dax confirmed that it was one sold by Mattress Firm and would work with the base - which was a huge relief because picking out a mattress for someone who is not there is a little stressful!

Additionally, he informed us that we could use the Signature Adjustable Base with the existing bed frame by removing the legs entirely and putting it on the slats, provided they were strong enough to hold the weight, of course (spoiler alert: they were & it worked!!). This was another huge win for us! Without Dax, we would not have known this was possible and it saved us so much time and energy not having to break down the bedframe and all the storage inside of it, and it also assured that our friend would come home to a familiar bed frame and mattress, but with a few new fancy tricks to help her sit up and be as comfortable as possible.

Anyway, we placed the order on Sunday afternoon with Dax and he linked us up with a delivery service, Lugg, who was able to get it to us from the warehouse that same evening & we were able to get it in place ahead of our friend's arrival home from the hospital.

Throughout the entire experience, Dax was informative, efficient, helpful and kind and sent his well wishes for our friend's recovery, which meant so much to us. He has been a pleasure to work with and it really felt like he was the miracle glue holding the whole day and experience together and helped us pull off something that had felt impossible in the timeframe we had.

Plus, as I am a Star Trek fan, I knew the first time I answered the phone and said his name was Dax, he had to be...

What a sham, I applied for their financing which is advertised at 60mo interest free and was denied under the guise Synchrony bank could not verify my Identity, I followed the requirements to the letter and sent them all the info they asked for and my credit score is high enough to obtain credit anywhere i go on a signature. So I was perplexed to say the least and reached out to an area manager for Mattress Firm who reached out to Synchrony bank who advised her to have me reapply so they could verify my identity and maybe approve me. We did, The area manager says we have an approval through some other financial institution for a reasonable dollar amount but the interest free timeline is only 12mo following up a 35.9 % interest rate if not paid in full within the 12 months. Seriously? Eight months ago I rode away on a new motorcycle with a 4 year 0 % interest loan on a signature. Now I have 2 hard inquiries on my credit report report that will take two years to fall off and have a negative impact. And NO BED! I wouldn't buy from this place if they were the only deal in town. I feel shammed, they have acquired all my pertinent information and I'm sure they'll share that with other solicitors they've negatively affected my credit standing and bait and switched with the credit offers,, i never would have applied the second time if i had known it was not the original 60mo 0% interest loan i had originally applied for. Unbelievable! The problem wasn't as much in the not being approved because they couldn't verify my identity it was with your sales associate running my credit information with your "alternative financers" WITHOUT my permission. Mr Palmer I too am in retail at an Area Managers level as well, I'm familiar with bait and switch tactics and if you'd like to continue discussing them in a public forum I've got no problem with that.

To be clear what that looks like, you acquired my credentials under the guise I was applying for 0% financing, when that was declined under bogus reasoning you automatically used my credentials to apply somewhere else without my knowledge or permission for a loan or an organization I wanted nothing to do with. On July 5 we met Kameron at the front door and he was so professional, knowledgable and kind. We followed his lead with the steps to learn about and experience the type of bed, base and pillows for our optimal sleep needs. Our experience with Kameron was fantastic. Just three days later our new bed arrived and was install with no problems!

Note to corporate: Two times another sales person and their customer walked over just a few feet away while we were testing a bed. They were talking and made it difficult to focus on Kameron and our experience.

While signing up for the zero interest loan, we were sat just three feet away from another couple. We were all at the same long table with no dividers or privacy. We felt very uneasy hearing their sales person ask for their personal financial information as they leaned over and tried to answer with a whisper. We were forced to do the same and felt like a number, not a valued customer.

A third sales person asked to take over Kameron's terminal as soon as he was finished. He squeezed in and then proceeded to get customer information from someone standing just a few feet behind us as we struggled to hear the details of our loan, warranty, delivery and such.

Mattress Firm should honor and respect people's privacy and dignity during the loan application process. At least install four small offices cubicles and train the sales staff give each other space and privacy with...
