The telltale signs of a California businesses being squeezed to death by owners pinching pennies to maximize profit. The lights are off, the coffee is weak, the cheese is cheap, they use margarine not butter, busser is the waiter is the janitor is the manager is the immigrant the owner wants to build the wall to keep underpaid. I took a local homeless lady to breakfast and for a grilled cheese sandwich it was 10 dollars, rubbery two egg breakfast with no meat, white slimy hashed browns, and two slices of toast 12 dollars, and watery coffee 250. 30 dollars including tip for less than two whole breakfasts is a ripoff and unAmerican. Again and again the property and business owners would rather raise rent and turn the lights off and operate a facade of a business than scale down their profit expectations and support their employees and customers. Heaven forbid we have breakfast equity.

5 Stars – Fall-Apart Flavor & Full-Hearted Service 🦃🍽️✨ Capitola Diner knows how to do it right! My meal was so tender it practically fell apart without a knife—like it knew I was too hungry to work for it. And the flavor? Phenomenal. Like your grandma came back from vacation with new tricks. Service was fast, friendly, and full of holiday spirit. Felt like I was being hosted by family that actually likes me. 😂 Happy Thanksgiving to this gem of a place— You gave my taste buds something to be thankful for! #GratefulAndStuffed #CapitolaCravings #ForksOptional 💙🍴🦃

Was a bit of a wait, but WELL worth it! They have great, real, made with fresh ingredients, and served with a smile. This place has full bar,EXCELLENT tender "Cynthia", was worth 20 for a drink...Chili's, lies, has horrible service, bone 8n burger and don't care. Capitola diner is pleasant, has pot roast, excellent menu and daily specials. Thanks for the food...Street tacos are excellent...happy hour specials.

Great fair weather Diner. We went in mid December, and quickly realized the dining room is unconditioned. No AC? That's normal around here. Try no Heat. They set up a couple presto radiant heat dishes around the dining room, which do nothing because in a dining room you need to heat up the air. So we kept our coats on and had cold fingers. Radiant dishes only work when they are aimed at you, they are really for outdoor spaces or large tall warehouse spaces where heating the air is futile. We were seated quickly and offered beverages, but needed more time to review the menu when they came to take our order. It took over a half hour to be checked on again. They were not busy but did appear short staffed. We were getting pretty nervous about our decision to eat there as the time ticked by. Luckily, the food was fantastic, and served hot. Hands down the best cheesy Garlic bread I've ever had. It blows Dennys and the Santa Cruz Diner clear out of the water when it comes to tasty food. The food saved the experience. We will go back, but probably during the spring or fall when the weather is nice. Not the summer or winter. Management could make a drastic improvement to dining room comfort by replacing each presto heat dish with two convective...

Attention all food enthusiasts! If you're craving a mouthwatering experience, look no further than the Chicken Pesto Philly Cheese -Steak (shown as steak on menu but it’s elite with all chicken!!)  at Capitola Diner on 41st Ave. Trust me, it's a game-changer! Picture this: tender, juicy chicken loaded with gooey cheese and perfectly sautéed peppers and onions, extra pesto inside, all nestled in a soft, toasted roll. But here's the kicker – ask for a side of their special pesto sauce to elevate the flavors to new heights. You won't be able to resist drizzling it over your fries – a match made in culinary heaven!

And let's talk about consistency – every visit to Capitola Diner guarantees top-notch service from the most humble owners in town. Their prices are unbeatable, and the quality of their food speaks volumes. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, you'll be treated like family from the moment you walk in. Trust me, one bite of their Chicken Pesto Philly Cheese Steak, and you'll be hooked for life. Don't miss out on this flavor sensation – head to Capitola Diner on 41st ave today and prepare to have your taste buds...

Unfortunately our experience wasn’t what we were expecting from this diner. When we walked in it had a strange smell and we were directed to seat ourselves at “whatever table” would fit our party of eight. There was just one other table with customers in the whole restaurant which was odd. When it came to our food, we ordered two orders of chicken and waffles but the waiter returned and said they only had enough chicken for one of the orders and that they had frozen chicken strips that they could make for the other. My husband and mother in law were not happy with their chicken burgers because the chicken was disproportionately smaller than the bun so there was a chunk of their burger that had no meat. When we were done eating the waiter took a very long time to give us our check even after she had already cleared the table and saw that we were done. Overall it wasn’t a great experience and we had already made up our mind while we were there that we wouldn’t return or recommend Capitola...
