Lisa saved me. I got invited to a fancy gala less than a week before the event. My wife hadn't worn a proper gown since the start of the pandemic two years ago. She deserved a special night. But I couldn't find a tuxedo that fit in Santa Cruz - either to buy or rent. Someone told me the Bridal Veil might be able to bail me out.

I came into Lisa's store stressed and without a tux two days before the gala. I also had a crying baby with me. Lisa was calm, friendly, patient and competent. She fit me for a classic tuxedo and had my rental ready within 24 hours. I looked like I belonged at the gala, and my wife got the extraordinary night she deserved.

It never would have occurred to me to enter a bridal store. Ever. Now I know there are understated heroes like Lisa in the world that make special events possible. Sometimes we get last minute invitations to extraordinary places. Sometimes clothes don't fit. Sometimes clothes rip. Things change all the time. Lisa wasn't only there to fix my problem, but to offer support at a crucial time. I left Lisa's store looking forward to the event for the first time, rather than dreading it. I highly recommend coming here! I was under the impression that my bridal party and I could walk in when they opened. But the day of, in the morning, one of my bridesmaids took a snap of the sign they had that they do appointments for Sundays only (which was the day I planned coming in)! I called that morning when they opened and left my name and number with the situation I had so they could understand why I didn't book an appointment. My bridal party and I went all the way to salinas to go to other places and they called me back. Telling me that they can squeeze me in, and we came back immediately! Man, was that the perfect decision because I got my dress and trinkets all in that same day and didn't have to order anything!! Their shops atmosphere was so warm and homey, especially because the two women were so nice and appreciative of body types and really helped with everything. I came in as a walk in and they were so gracious in fitting me in their schedule. This place is a hidden gem. There's such a sweetness in this being a family run place that has been around for so long. The ladies who helped me were fantastic. They really listen to your wants, while giving great advice. They are realistic in alterations that can be done or can't. They are patient, kind and really lift you up when trying dressed on. For reasons that I won't get into, this was actually an experience that I was dreading -and I came out of this feeling happy, which was not something I really expected, and so much goes to the ladies here.

In the end I ended up going a very untraditional route with my wedding dress, but this would be a place I recommend to someone in a heartbeat.
