Very delicious food

First I shall introduce this delicious drink the “white cap margarita” piña colada meets margarita. YUM! Smooth and creamy meets sweet and not overbearing. It definitely has a sweet pineapple taste with the hint of coconut. No alcohol burn on the throat or chest, but still absolutely delicious!

Next up we have a simple Cobb salad that can have either grilled chicken or fried chicken. We opted for fried chicken and it’s nice thick strips cooked that are crispy and juicy. They weren’t dried out or over flavored. We asked to take out the blue cheese (not a huge fan) and asked for ranch.

(Most burgers were medium or medium rare)

Next we have the “Shroom” Burger. A simple but yummy burger. Has cooked mushroom and onion. Swiss cheese is cooked and melted on top the patty. The patty was nice and thick and wasn’t served thin. Mushrooms and onions were cooked to a nice soft sautéed taste. Flavor was not overbearing and was just right. I ordered with fries (depending on how much they season it can be a bit salty but it tasted good) and was asked by the waiter if I wanted ranch with it and it paired with them perfectly.

Next burger is the “Gnarly” Burger. Was slightly overdone cooked wise. Had a wasabi mayonnaise that tasted good and added blue cheese to give it an eccentric taste. Ordered the fresh made chips and that was really good. They had a really nice thickness to it that was also crispy. Wasn’t over seasoned but it tasted good dipped in ranch and still tasted great without a dip.

Final one was the “Hang Ten” Burger. If you are looking for something plain and simple this is the one to choose. Has your veggies with bacon and the meat was cooked medium well. Perfect simple burger if you aren’t looking for anything wild. Ordered with fries and a side of ranch as well.

There was no sign of handicap entry way to the top floor to eat. Just a stairway with no ramp.

Outdoor and indoor seating. It’s a seat yourself place. Try your best and be respectful and grab a table the proper size for your party or split the party into separate tables. Saw a couple take a large table when there was quite a few other tables available they could’ve gone to and a large party came in later. But to each their own.

Tables and chairs are cleaned up properly and aren’t sticky or covered in food or spills. They have an outdoor seating area for waiting to get in if it is busy.

Parking has to be paid for. There are signs for mobile payment with a QR code connected through your camera or a number you can text. Two images below have the codes and the number available with the pricing and dates.

It will ask for a plate number for the vehicle parked and paying for so when they come around checking they will check to match the plate and if it is paid for.

March 1- October 31 prices are these $5 an hour OR $25 for a whole day.

November 1- February 28 prices are these $2 an hour OR $10 for a whole day

For a larger party the best time of day to go is around 2-4 pm before and after that it will tend to be busy or crowded and the wait time is going to be a bit longer.

So please make sure you go at a decent time and if you go when it is busy be sure to be respectful to the staff, do remember they do not control the environment of people who come in and are working their best to maintain good times for everyone coming in!

The staff was super friendly, always checking on people and seeing if anything was needed and asking how the food was tasting.

And to give a heads up this place is not beach side property. It is however across the street from Carolina Beach Lake Park. Looks to be a walking trail but the road isn’t super busy thankfully so maybe a good place to check out after eating a nice big meal and a few drinks!

Menu is uploaded. Did not get a picture of the drink menu….

If you keep your receipt you can take it to the Celtic Creamery and receive a 10% discount.

Pros: The food is really good, pricing is in line with other restaurants at Carolina Beach and the menu has a great selection. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is always super friendly, too. Cons: The place is small, so at busy times it can feel a little bit crowded. There is one, narrow stairway leading up to the restaurant, which is a tad bit inconvenient when there are crowds. We’ve had to pay to park each time we have eaten here, which is super annoying. On our last visit, there was a 30 minute wait, which is okay and expected at a popular place like Hang Ten. But we were forced to hang out at the bottom of the stairs so we’d hear our name called. The problem with this is that they had a live musician posted at the bottom of the stairs (along with his speakers). It was so loud that standing there was almost intolerable. Don’t get me wrong, he sounded great and seemed very talented. And live music is a nice touch. But to have him right there is a really bad idea. Not only does it make it harder to hear your name called but I had to walk out into the parking lot so my eardrums didn’t rupture. It seems like there could be a better method for this. But overall, Hang Ten is a good restaurant that is doing its best in a limited amount of space and they are definitely worth a visit. Small annoyances aside, we actually love eating here and will continue to visit...

My son and l came in after a long day of working at the beach. We are trying different restaurants on the island. We walked in weren’t greeted right away. We let them know we had 2 people and were told to sit wherever we would like to. We sat down and waited for a menu for at least 5mins. Finally got our menu ordered our food and waited. Several people came in after us and were greeted by I’m assuming the owner that was eating at the table right beside us as she yelled out welcome in have a seat wherever you’d like. She even got up once from eating her own food and gave someone menus as soon as they walked in. We didnt receive that treatment. Anyway onto the food I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich it was good but very greasy my bottom bun was super wet and soggy . The lettuce was 3times the size of the chicken breast and bun. My son ordered the chicken tenders with honey barbecue sauce and he wasn’t even able to finish it. As his stomach was hurting from what he did eat. Looking at previous reviews maybe we should have gotten a burger or seafood that’s what they seem to specialize in. My main concern though is the treatment we received. We won’t be back our first...

We loved this place!!! Amazingly friendly staff, great location and excellent food! After a day of kayaking the river and walking the beach, we were looking for a good place to get fish and chips that would allow us to sit with our dog. It's not a large place, but we loved the cozy atmosphere and top-deck seating. The timing worked out perfectly for a parking stop out front (there are also metered parking spots available) and a table opened quickly for outdoor seating. (Right in the corner, which was even more perfect with our dog so she didn't bother people) The food was ready surprisingly fast and my goodness was it good! My husband ordered the Cowboy Burger and I stole more than a few bites (he enjoyed my fish, too...and our dog enjoyed sharing both our meals.) I believe there were some outdoor games available, but we were too focused on food to take notice. If you're looking for a nice "chill" place to hang out and grab some delicious food at a great price, this is the place! We will definitely be back!
