My husband and I just spent a wonderful and relaxing week at Villa Mykonos and we can say that of all our stays in Palm Springs area, this was certainly the best!||Because the reviews online are very few and the majority quite old, I will give more details.||The resort is made of 10 large villas, each named after artists, (we stayed in Villa #9-Judy Garland), all 2-bedroom and 2-bathroom (one with double shower, the other with a large bathtub), nicely furnished, super-clean, and with a full kitchen which has everything you need to cook (included spices, salt & pepper, and cleaning products). The premises are well kept, and so the swimming pool (open 24 hours!). Even though the villas are attached, they have a lot of privacy: we didn't hear the other guests, except for the dogs, sometimes barking at night. About pets, some villas are "no pets", others are "pets allowed": if you want to bring your pet, get in touch with the resort so that they will reserve a "pets-allowed villa" for you.||You will read in the resort's website that it mostly caters to the LGBTQ community. While this is true, everybody is welcome, families and pets included! There are no activities planned during the week (children might get bored), the heated swimming pool + spa and the barbeque are the only amenities on premises, as it is the case for several other resorts in Palm Springs area. Each villa has its own garage (1-car space), so you don't see the eyesore parking lots that usually surround a property. Laundry is available for free, and the small but useful business center can be accessed any time with your key-card. Internet was quite weak and intermittent in the villa, so sometimes we checked our emails there or at the swimming pool. The two managers, Ken and Mat, are very nice and helpful: if you need something, don't hesitate to ask! ||The resort is at walking distance (5 minutes) from Trader Joe's and Target (which includes a CVS pharmacy), and very close to Boomers (3 minutes on foot), the amusement center chain featuring mini-golf, go-karts, bumper boats, a rock wall, and arcade games. If you are at Villa Mykonos during the weekend, have brunch at the delicious Acqua California Bistro in Rancho Mirage, 5 minutes by car. If you stay for the whole week as we did, don't miss "Village fest", the Thursday night street fair downtown Palm Springs, featuring arts, crafts, food, and entertainment. Finally, Mary Pickford movie theater in Cathedral City offers an all-day reduced fee on Tuesday. ||We highly recommend Villa Mykonos and hope to...
Read moreThe staff here is as good as it gets! They bend over backwards to make your stay great! ||||Unfortunately, the property itself is 'tired', and deferred maintenance needs to be addressed. Matt the manager indicated they have a special assessment coming, and many of these issues will be addressed this coming year.||||The units are HUGE, and the architecture is amazing! Both bathrooms have dual showers and dual sinks, the kitchen is well equipped, and the furnishings are quite comfortable. The gas fireplace adds ambiance, and unlike many resorts we've stayed in, it actually puts out heat! ||||We could easily walk to shopping, dining, and entertainment venues - right across the street from the property entrance. This property is one block off hwy 111, which is the main route from Palm Springs to Indio. Amazingly, we could hear NO noise from the shopping centers or the highway.||||If you are looking for activities, be forewarned: this is a small resort with only 10 units, and there are no organized activities. Kids will be bored. The upside is a lot of peace and quiet if you are looking for a place to recharge and relax.||||We would definitely stay here again. You will want a car, and that makes anything you could want just a short drive away.||||We are eagerly looking forward to staying again after the updates/upgrades are completed this...
Read moreVilla Mykonos is a +/-10-unit complex in Cathedral City and within walking distance to Target, Boomers, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, El Pollo Loco, and a variety of other retail shops, restaurants, and services.||The Complex...has a nice pool, hot tub, BBQ, laundry room (messy but free), and very small multi-purpose room that includes two exercise bikes, and some free weights. There are also single-stall garages for most/each rental unit which would be a nice perk in the summer. Visitor parking is also available. The landscaping could certainly use some TLC and the furniture scattered about the property was messy with branches and fallen foliage. Perhaps the property managers were off the week we were there...?||Our Unit...spacious; ours was a main floor unit with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a good sized kitchen and living area. Our shower was huge and the second bathroom had a large soaker tub. Both king-sized beds were very comfortable. Our unit would benefit from a deep cleaning, a few maintenance items, and new linens (several towels had holes and bedding was outdated). ||Overall it was a very pleasant stay and one of my favorite features were the recycling and compost bins on...
