Very charming. Both in form and function. In a way, I felt like I was in an art exhibit. Lots of creativity in creating beauty everywhere on the property. My room had a partial view of the ocean and I could hear the waves crashing all night. I loved that the most. The internet was good, and the TV station selection. The heater was a tad slow at first but was sufficient. The kitchenette was perfect. I can't think of anything it was lacking for anything I would want to make. The location is great. Right next to the ocean and also on main Street where all the shops, stores, restaurants are. I really liked Martin's across the street (both Mexican and Italian food! Each excellent!). The shower was very nice. Plenty of warm water. The room was very peaceful and quiet the entire week I stayed here (maybe mid-November is off-season?). The price was very reasonable and competitive. I actually haven't stayed in too many motels in my life. My company always puts me up in hotels. If given a choice, I would stay in this motel over most of the big city hotels I have stayed in. I do love the hot cookies they give at the DoubleTree...
Read moreI've stayed here several times over the past 10 years, and have never once been disappointed! Rick is the best, and they keep the rooms and grounds pristine!! The back yard BBQ is awesome, they supply charcoal and lighter fluid, all you need to bring is the meat! I've stayed in about 6 of the rooms, including the kitchenette, and all have different themes, very creative! You're right across the street from a great restaurant (can't recall the name right off hand) that serves a delicious breakfast, and has a great lunch/dinner menu (american, italian and mexican!). Just a couple blocks south is the Sea Shanty, also great food breakfast/lunch/dinner, and the other way is town, about a 2 block walk...to the beach or the Tavern. Cayucos is awesome, a nice quiet little village that lets you unwind, and the Seaside Motel is the perfect place to lay down and rest after a busy day! Always quiet, and sitting in the back yard enjoying a cold beer or glass of wine while watching the ocean is the ultimate in...
Read moreOne of the last vintage beach motor court style motels left.....each room decorated in its own unique way.... the owners Rick and Rebecca take great pride in attention to detail, the rooms are perfect, clean and comfortable but the real gem is Rebecca's beautiful flowers everywhere and the lovely Garden area to sit and talk in. Short walk down to the beach to watch the sunsets, Cayucos beach houses are beautiful you almost have the whole beach to yourself when you're there watching the sunset. Remember When, one of the coolest and biggest antique stores I've ever been in is down the road.. the Seaside Motel has always felt magical, my family and I would not come to the Central Coast if we could not stay there. If you're looking for a place to stay with wonderful relaxing Ambience this is the place, not a cookie-cutter of every other...
