I don't usually leave reviews, but.... if I could, I'd give them zero stars.I support local, small businesses every time I can, and have done so to Cayucos Pharmacy for 25+ years. This pharmacy now has "bankers hours"(10-4, M-F) which makes it inconvenient for working people, but I make the sometimes difficult schedule, work. In December, he posted a letter about being a small pharmacy and our prescriptions were going to cost more. Okaaay ...I pay the extra to support local. But no more, because community means you help each other out. Here's what ended my support of them ..I used the phone on a Thursday evening to order a refill that said I had one refill left (on THEIR prescription label). I got the response, "No refills"...? So I called Friday morning. Sure enough, THEY messed up the prescription label. They said I had to call my cardiologist for the prescription. I asked how long would it take to get the meds because my 5 year old grandson's surgery was now pushed back to next Tuesday and I had to leave Monday. She said if they got the prescription that (Friday) morning, could have it ready Monday. I called my cardiologist office, who IMMEDIATELY sent it over(I checked with the pharmacy). And I waited.....Monday morning at 11:00 I I went in and asked, and got the run around. So I asked to speak to the pharmacist, who kept me waiting, and waiting...and waiting. Finally he came out and scolded(!) me that there were 40 prescriptions waiting to be filled immediately, not just me. I looked around. No one but me. Then he said, "Well, they can call in." I explained that I had tried to order it on Thursday, Friday morning my CARDIOLOGIST office took the time to send it, and I had to leave in half an hour for my grandson's after surgery care that was suddenly changed to tomorrow. He said he couldn't take me "out of line". So I left Not 20 minutes on the road and I get a text the prescription was ready for pick up!!! He reminded me of pharmacy students at UCSF who were always trying to prove they were as important as their MD counterparts. Their egos seemed more important than their patients. And that's never good for the patient. So I've moved all my prescriptions to a pharmacy that has accessible hours and costs less. I would have loved to continue supporting Cayucos pharmacy, but it's a two way street,...
Read moreAt first they were very good. Today, I rushed over there to get some of my medicine that I needed real bad, and my Dr. had sent them over by computer. I got there like 7 minutes before they closed, I told Jennifer that my Doctor had sent over my prescriptions and gave her my new insurance card. I am waiting and waiting and then another lady comes out and says we got 7 does that sound right? I said yes. She says we will have them in the am for you!!! I said you cannot get any of them for me now? I haven't had any of these for couple months now. She says No we haven't even began to work on these and we're closed now . This is the second time, they have I would say not valued my business. SAD! I will more than likely take my business else where. It 's Saturday and I have called twice and I have got a answering machine. ????? I started to try and get my medicine thrilled since Tuesday and they didn'tget them back from my Primary Doctor. Which was odd so I finally called I primary and the girl said they didn't have any fax inm3 in your folder so I got doctor Slaughter's assistant on it and by the time she got the message Dr. Slaughter was already gone and at home but she was going to work on it to get it to me probably today Saturday I was expecting but I can't talk to anybody at Cayucos Pharmacy because answering machine is on. It's very frustrating their a very small Pharmacy this is a sleepy little town and I'm going to change pharmacies after this I'm going to go to Morro Bay Pharmacy and try them because it's ridiculous to get an answering machine twice and I still haven't got called back and it's 25 minutes. The first time I didn't leave a
message and then I called again like 3 hours later and I got theirm .answering machine. It makes me wonder if they're there is supposed to be open till 3. The can't I pppppp pa o.o be this busy it's a little...
Read moreI needed a gift during the time when all the stores were closed due to the virus, and Jennifer brought out a selection of gifts for me, a pair of gloves so I could open them and look at each one, then she went inside and rang up my purchase and gift-wrapped it beautifully. When she brought the gift back to me, she gave me a new very comfortable mask as well. I really appreciate the great customer service during a stressful time.
UPDATE 8/15/2023: The past three times I've had prescriptions filled here were frustrating experiences. They have taken days longer than I was told, and then yesterday I opened a new prescription to find two different colored capsules mixed together in the bottle. Of course I had to return to the pharmacy where I received a brief explanation and they removed half of the capsules. Now I have to make another trip to pick up the corrected prescription. But more importantly, what might have happened if this prescription had been taken incorrectely because of the pharmacy's mistake with the capsule colors? Human error aside, I received not one word of apology for their mistake which could have had...
