This beach is truly a hidden gem and has quickly become one of our favorite getaway spots! My family and I have had the pleasure of visiting twice now, and each experience has been absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the serene beauty of the shoreline and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. One of the things we love most is how peaceful it feels—despite its charm, the beach never seems overcrowded, which makes it perfect for unwinding, playing in the sand, or simply soaking up the sun without the usual hustle and bustle. Beyond the beach itself, the surrounding town adds to the overall charm of the destination. It’s quaint and full of character, with a variety of delightful restaurants and cozy cafés where you can grab a bite to eat. There are also several unique shops and boutiques that make strolling through town a fun and leisurely experience. Whether you're looking for a quiet beach day or a bit of local exploration, this place offers the best of both worlds. We’re already looking forward to our next visit—it’s the kind of spot that leaves you refreshed and wanting more. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone in search of a peaceful...
Read moreMy family and I have been visiting Cayucos since 1979. I found Cayucos to be my favorite Town ever. It is a sleepy small town with very friendly people. The beach is one of the longest beaches and it is pristine. The best thing that I like about Cayucos and the beach is that The shops are located right across the street and if you are sitting on the beach it is only a small walk to food and other things. It is a great Beach to bring your dog also. Parts of the beach are leash off so your dogs can have a great time. Sitting on the beach and watching the sunset is one of my favorite things. Visit Cayucos during 4th of July weekend they have a parade and I have been to quite a few parades this is one of the longest parades that I've ever been. You will have...
Read moreCame here to fish in August 2023. Central valley was burning hot so needed a break from the heat.
Arrived at 8 am on a Wednesday and got the first parking spot, no time limit posted. Took a wagon and loaded up the fishing gear. Stayed for about 6 hours and got 1 jack smelt, 2 baby perch, 1 baby rock fish, 1 random fish (picture posted). Saw stripers chasing a school of bait fish by the first bench on the left into the pier. Unfortunately, didn't catch any stripers. Anchovy and sabiki with attached bait worked for me. Shrimp and squid was a dud all day. Felt a good tug on a spoon lure. Used a crab snare and got a whole lot of nothing.
Food choices near the pier are limited. There were lots of seaweed on the beach and...
