Arbitrarily strict rules, rude staff, lack of clarity while booking. they care about their grass many times more than their patrons. We booked a spot for early June about a month in advance. They sent us a list of rules and expectations, as well as a description of the amenities that would be provided along with the rather hefty cost of about 100 bucks a night. The "included amenities" included access to showers and a restroom- it was not clarified whatsoever that the showers were quarter operated. You'd think when you're paying 100 bucks a night for what turned out to be little more than an asphalt patch that they could foot the water bill- but no- it's 2025 and we found ourselves having to go pull out cash and take it to Safeway to have them give us some quarters. To add insult to injury, two attempts to shower ended up just eating 1.25 of quarters and not even turning on the water, and I found myself cold and naked trying to get soap out of my hair with the ice cold drip coming out of a slightly broken showerhead. When we were booking we clarified that we had two tents and two vehicles, and we were assured there would be enough space as they collected our payment, but once we arrived we were notified that cars could under no circumstances be at all touching the grass, and neither could the tents- so we had to put one of the tents on the driveway- rendering it too small to fit our two vehicles. We kept getting harrassed by staff the entire time to make minute adjustments so nothing came even a half an inch over into the grass. They also bothered us multiple times for arbitrary rules like insisting that we back in our vehicles. Coals were not allowed so we had no way to cook our food and had no recourse but to go spend an additional 150 bucks for a propane flat top. But the worst and most upsetting part of the whole experience was the sprinklers that would sorry directly on the cars, the designated tent pad, all the surrounding grass, and the driveway where on of our tents was- soaking our tents that were prepared for hot summer camping and had not been set up for rainy conditions , and all of our cooking equipment every single night. Woke up in puddles every morning. They would go from midnight until 4 am, and sprayed well over into all walking paths, so God forbid you have to pee at night or else you'll be walking through your own personal involuntary water park. What was so aggregious about it, was that there was no mention of the sprinklers in any of the ridiculously long list of things they wanted to have us do for them, they couldn't even warn us that we pretty much had to pack up our entire site and unpack it each morning (the funnest part of camping am I right??!) When we made them aware of this, rather than assuring us they would adjust the sprinklers not to hit out tents or vehicles, they just told us "that's a risk you run" and refused to even apologize, and maybe if there was a clear warning, we could accept the risk ourselves, but instead they decided to take our money without mentioning it whatsoever. So no, it's not "a risk we run" it's bullshit. We will never be coming back, spend your money...
Read moreI wish I could give this place a better rating, because the park itself is beautiful, and the view of the lake and hills is lovely. However, the park staff were quite unfriendly. We were made to wear plastic identification bracelets as soon as we checked in, and were told that we needed them to get in and out of the park. I asked if we could just keep it in the car (since it's scratchy and uncomfortable) and just show it to them each time, but was told "No, and it will be a $50 fine if you take it off. And they WILL check." It was 90 degrees out, and none of us wanted that stupid bracelet on our arm, nor the white line left on our wrist from the sun. And they DO check for the bracelets, even if you're just out for a walk! It had us feeling like we had to have our passport papers in order at an unfriendly border checkpoint! We were told we were not allowed to lay a doormat on the asphalt in front of our motor home door. (Were actually given a written warning for this!) When we asked why, they would not answer, only drove away in their cart, but kept coming around to check to be sure we didn't have that little mat on the asphalt! We were only there for a weekend, so I'm not sure what kind of damage they thought this would cause--and they wouldn't tell us. People had inflatable pools and things on the grass, but we couldn't set a mat down on the ground. We were also told that our kids could come put a tent on our site, but only if they put the tent up after 6 pm, and had it taken down by 10 am every day. And they would have to park their car in a lot up the street, not at our site, even if they paid to be on our site. There was plenty of room for another vehicle. The bathrooms were kept up better than a lot of campgrounds I've been to, though small. There are quarter-operated showers (3 or 4 min. for 50 cents) We saw owls in the trees near our site (young ones, too), which was wonderful, and they do have lots of big, gorgeous trees and lush, green grass. Overall, we enjoyed the surroundings, but our hosts left a lot to be desired. I know it's not easy dealing with the public in general, (and saw how a lot of people trashed the park near the water (not on the campground), but we were not behaving destructively, and still were not made to feel like...
Read moreWe stayed at Lake Shore RV Park in Chelan, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! Nestled right by the beautiful Lake Chelan, the park offers stunning views and easy access to the water, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and outdoor activities. We love the proximity to Lake Chelan because that's where we spent most of our time. To me Lake Chelan reminded me of Lake Ohrid in Macedonia. We couldn't keep our kids out of the water, it was EPIC!
Each RV site is spacious, with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the fresh air. Many sites also have picnic tables and fire pits, which is a nice touch for evening gatherings. This particular park allows you to wash your RV yourself.
The park's location is ideal. You're just a short drive from the downtown Chelan, where you can find great restaurants, shops, and wineries. Plus, the nearby hiking trails and water sports make it easy to fill your days with adventure. To make things even more attractive, every afternoon a family from a near by farm would come to the park and sell fresh produce.
The atmosphere at Lake Shore RV Park is friendly and welcoming. The staff is incredibly helpful and always available to answer questions or offer recommendations. The sense of community among fellow campers adds to the overall enjoyment of the stay.
If you're looking for a serene getaway with beautiful lake views and excellent amenities, we highly recommend Lake Shore RV Park. It’s a perfect spot for families, couples, or anyone looking to enjoy the great outdoors in Chelan. We can't wait to return! I hear the boat tours are...
