Was excited to get dinner here based on the reviews, but left feeling very disappointed. Upon arriving (clearly they were very busy), it took a long time for anyone to take our order. We had basically almost finished the chips and already gotten refills on water before anyone came to take our order.

Once we did order, the drinks came out quickly. But, the Margarita I got tasted like watery juice. And when I told our server I could not taste the alcohol in it, she just laughed & walked away because “there was alcohol” in it… if there was I really couldn’t taste it and clearly was not happy with my drink.

Next we got our food- I ordered the fish tacos and the rice was so oily underneath the tacos, that the tortillas were soggy and ripping apart. I had to eat the tacos with a fork and knife, and it was just not what I was expecting. The fish itself tasted okay, but I thought the rice tasted a little weird— not sure if it was from all the oil.

My boyfriend ordered the Al pastor tacos which tasted pretty good, but again the tortillas were falling apart. When he tried to pick the tacos up they just broke.

Overall we were just disappointed with our experience here. If you only have one night out in Chelan like we did, I wouldn’t spend it on...

They gave our table away twice, while we sat for 45 minutes waiting with 5 kids to eat. First time they said they called us when the table was ready but we had no missed calls and showed them the proof of that. Second time they said they’d seat us at two separate tables next to each other so we waited an additional 15 minutes and they gave the table away while we stood 10 feet away, when I tried to ask what was going on I got scolded by the woman at the desk. There was 3 women trying to direct the tables and none of them were communicating so this also happened to 3 other families waiting outside within the hour we were there.

After giving our second table away they didn’t even attempt to make things right, apologize, or show any concern for the situation at all.

We ended up having to leave with all our kids and get frozen pizzas at Safeway because by the time we left there was nowhere else open that could seat us for dinner.

We usually come to this restaurant every year, we came when they first opened and posted 5 star reviews and helped promote them because we loved the food. They have shown their true colors today and it makes me sad to leave this review but we will...

My husband and I were excited to go there but my husband is vegetarian and we wanted to make sure they had vegetarian or vegan options so we called them and the lady that picked up the phone answered in English so I spoke to her in English as well. She was being a little rude but I assumed “maybe she’s busy” then I realized she wasn’t understanding a 100 percent what I was asking about the vegetarian options so I switched to Spanish and she started yelling at me, she said “ why are you speaking English?! if you know Spanish then speak Spanish!” I didn’t know what to say I was stunned that a random lady was yelling at me over the phone for speaking English 😂 Anyways, we obviously didn’t go there since I didn’t feel like getting yelled at again. But after all it was a good thing that happened because we found this other Mexican restaurant called “Marcela’s Cocina Mexicana”. The food and the drinks were amazing!!! And all the people there were so nice...

I stopped in for a late lunch after my ferry ride to Stehekin and had a good experience with food and service. It was a little busy and I wanted to order tamales, but they were out. I reviewed the menu and ordered the Chicken Mole Oaxaqueno with rice, beans. and a virgin Pina Colda. The menu features food from Oaxaca in Southern Mexico with soups, enchiladas, chicken, beef, pork, and much more. I listened to the Mexican music and ate the chips with salsa and beans. The chicken had a nice taste with black mole sauce. The rice was moist, and the beans nice a nice taste to them. You will also find daily lunch specials, a kids menu, and a few desserts . Located on East Johnson Avenue in Chelan and next to City Hall. A nice place to eat with friendly service, a menu with a number of options, and a fun family environment.

Fonda Oaxaqueña offers the best Mexican food we've ever had, with a unique Oaxacan spin in familiar dishes, and it's always the first place we go whenever we're in Chelan. The dishes have much more complex flavor profiles than most Mexican food and the Oaxacan-style chicken mole is just heavenly. We recently celebrated a milestone anniversary here with mojitos (delicious, and huge!), and dinner (chicken mole and camarones a la crema). The service is very attentive, and the restaurant is cozy and has a great ambiance with photos of Oaxaca on the walls. We've recommended Fonda Oaxaqueña to family members who have also visited and been impressed.

I love everything about this restaurant. I forgot to take pictures before we dug in, but the plating was awesome, so pretty. The staff is friendly, very efficient and attentive. The restaurant is immaculate, I was very impressed by that. The food is fabulous, authentic, really really great, and plenty of it. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the 5 🌟 status of the rest. *Edited to add a few pictures from tonight's visit, and to say that if they know it's your birthday they'll give you a shot of tequila, (make) you wear a sombrero, while they sing felíz cumpleaños. Great place ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
