I stopped in The Simple Greek for the first time recently while having lunch with some friends who were visiting from out of town. They wanted to try something new and I'm not sure how they found the place, but told me roughly where it was located and so I met them there. You'll find the setup at TSG is familiar. You walk in, get in line and walk down the assembly line as they put your entree together. No different than Moe's, Your Pie and other similar places. Your first selection is Gyro or a wrap. Gyro of course! From there I added lamb from the rotisserie, Tzatziki sauce, tomato, cucumber and some vinaigrette. On the side I tried out an order of Greek Fries which were basically French Fries topped with Feta and red wine vinegar. Service was fast and in no time at all the order was made and we were at a table. The gyro was deceptively large and I shared the fries with everyone at the table. I really enjoyed the gyro however the fries not so much. Next time around I'll try a different side. During our meal the manager stopped by the table and checked on us and we shot the breeze for a few minutes. The staff overall was very friendly and courteous. All in all I really enjoyed my meal and am looking forward to a future visit.

Last two times I have come it has been very disappointing! We arrive around 6:20 on Sunday evening. Most of the chairs are on the table, person inside is not friendly. Says we are closing early today....that's weird, the hand written sign says you are open until 8šŸ¤” and the door says 9🄓. Oh and we aren't doing fries today. Both times. Seriously disappointed. Does the manager/owner realize that your employee is closing the shop regularly at 7? Guess it's time to find a new place. I was really enjoying it here. šŸ˜’ Two months ago....Neat little place. My friend and I decided to try a new place and really enjoyed the food here. You can make either a bowl or a pita. You chose your meat, and toppings. The cucumber and tomato mix was delicious! Tasted like it had a red wine vinegar on it! I tried the gyro and quite enjoyed it. Also tried the fries and loved that they are made fresh from potatoes, no fillers. They were way over salted, but that is easily fixed next time. There was plenty of seating available and the tables were clean. The lady behind the counter talked too quietly and was hard to understand.... especially for someone who has never been before.

Exciting new Greek quick service restaurant. The Simple Greek is cool and sparkling clean. The owner, manager and staff were all so friendly and eager to please. The very fresh ingredients provided many options for a bowl or pita. Everything was tasty with the Greek dressing, garlic sauce and tzatziki sauce plus they give nice large portions of protein. We got tradition gyro meat on a pita and salad bowl. We also got an order of Greek fries. I think the fries were fresh cut which is good but more difficult to get right since fresh cut fries really benefit from a double fry. They tasted almost burnt and raw at the same time and needed salt. So the fries need some work. I’m still giving five stars because everything else was so on point. We are looking forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. A Greek restaurant is just what Greenbrier needed and this one is great!

You have a severe training deficit at this location that must be addressed on the corporate level. I've tried to politely resolve the issue locally with no success. In summary, I ordered Vegan food on the 10th and received all non Vegan food. I politely called and asked for the correct order and was assured it would be ready upon my return; however, It was not ready and I awkwardly waited in my car assuming it was being prepared. As the store was closing I went in to check. The team was in the back and did not greet me for several minutes. Finally a young lady came out of the kitchen surprised by my presence while apparently eating something. She didn't know about my order and asked another young lady who was very upset and said she just didn't have any of the food I ordered and that the cook just left. At a loss for words I politely asked for a refund and was told she wasn't allowed to issue one and to call back later when the manager was on duty. I called on the 11th and 12th, left a message but was never contacted. I again called on the 16th. I spoke with a polite associate who asked me to hold as he clearly spoke to the manager in the background. The Manager refused to talk to me and made his subordinate relay that they wouldn't be able to help me if I didn't have the original credit card which isn't available as my wife, who's credit card was originally used is out of state caring for her sick mother. I asked the associate for one last opportunity to speak with or receive a return call from the manager on duty. Again, no response.

I have experienced a severe lack of professionalism at this location that is indicative of a severe training deficit. I feel it warrants a corporate response. The young people at this location lack the most basic of customer service skills which is not their fault but rather the fault of their...

Since my original review, things got better for a couple of visits but they have bottomed out as of my most recent visit. The person behind the counter did not greet me at all. No, 'How may I help you?' or even 'What you want?'. Then, my pita was loaded carelessly, so much so, it was dripping wet with juices to the point the wrapper was covered and the pita soaked inside and out. When I asked for just a little of something, perhaps out of vengeance an extra helping with extra juice was plopped within. The fries we ordered came late, and over cooked. The attendant went in the back and we heard the timer go off and were stilled served terrible fries. I should have known this place was in decline by the lack of other customers during dinner time. My recommendation is to avoid this place.

My original review from earlier last year below...

Think of this place as the Greek cuisine version of Chipotle. You line up to choose Pita or Salad, pick a protein and any number of fresh veggies and sauces. I've had the falafel, chicken, gyro, and steak versions. And added some delicious Greek fries to my order each time. It's a decent place, but why only three stars, you ask? One, it's way overpriced. Even with fries, this should come out to less than $10, but on average I'm spending $14+ each meal. If this wasn't just a fancy cafeteria line and my gyro was made to order, maybe the higher price would be warranted, but even then...it's a gyro! Two, the line is slow and unorganized. I learned to order my fries first, but even then I've had my order given to someone who ordered them once they got to the register twice, and have gotten fries after having finished my gyro. Three, I haven't found the staff friendly. Overall, not bad, but...

UPDATE: I upped my rating to a 4 star after speaking with the owner and the manager I spoke with. Both were very apologetic and kind. They both did everything to make it right. While it should have been done originally I am willing to give them another chance because I have really enjoyed their food.

love the food. However, I have now had a horrible experience with management and refunds. I ordered on their online website at 4:45 PM the day before Thanksgiving, not knowing that they closed early as it was no where on their Facebook page and it wasn't on Google, and their online ordering website was not shut down. Come to find out, not only did they close early, they closed 2 hours earlier than was originally posted on the door (which I found out when I went up). They closed at 3 (which was indicated on a handwritten sign posted to the door. I called on Black Friday, to be told that they needed to get with a manager. Okay, I called back 2 more times only to be told a manager wasn't there but was aware of the situation and would refund the money the next day and it would be there right away. I called the next day to ensure that it was refunded and was told they were doing it right then and it should take 3 to 5 days.I called back the next week as the money was still not returned and was told that they needed to contact the website and it would be another 2 to 3 days. Okay that's fine. I proceeded to call back yesterday, 12/8/21, and spoke with a manager who informed me that she would take care of it right then and there and call me back. The money is still not pending and I never received a call back. The likelihood that I will ever give this specific Simple Greek my business again is...
