The shop overall is pretty nice compared to the other locations in the Chicagoland area - it is definitely the biggest. Place does get crowded on the weekends and can result in a line.
However, the workers at this location are a bit off compared to the ones in the suburbs. Some of the supervisors I have interacted with have been pretty rude for no apparent reason and seem to struggle with the concept of customer-service -- a middle aged Asian/Hispanic looking guy -- as well as a bigger white guy with a very large nose and reddish brown hair -- have often given customer's attitude for no reason. Very socially awkward gentlemen, which begs the question of why are they in charge. I always feel uncomfortable going into this store knowing I may have to interact with them, but never in any of the other locations I have come across. Have had truly exceptional service in Orland Sq, Gurnee, and Northbrook Court. There is a younger Asian/White male supervisor, very thin, he's quite nice and charming though.
The store is also overly staffed, a lot of times they are just chit-chatting with each other and then when someone does need help, they aren't there to do so. What can...
Read moreWe stopped into this store back in April of this year. We had just come from the museum and our son who LOVES dinosaurs and had spent the morning photographing and taking video of all things Sue & friends was devastated to learn he left his camera here.
We contacted the store when we arrived home the next day and realized the loss! They were kind enough to agree to ship it to us, even though shipping isn’t something they do regularly!
Long story short: there was some communication issues from management to employee on who was executing this task. After months of no arrival, I called back to check in. The item had sat in the lost & found for 30 days (making it legally Lego property) and gone home with an employee. Upon learning of the miscommunication they tracked the camera down and held it (along with a Lego goody bag) for the "trouble", for us to pick up when we were back in the city this past week!
Wonderful staff and kind people! More of this in the world, please! We are...
Read moreAmazing staff i brought my 5 yr old here on my birthday trip back to Chicago. Naturally he wanted a gift on my birthday. We stayed near the old chicago water tower and figured it waa nice to have the mall and we would check out the lego store. The Lego store was one of the best parts of the trip. The guy at the counter helped me pick out of few mystery lego movie characters and we got a bunch of freebies for spending money on lego movie and a tshirt for spending over 70 or so. The staff though went over and beyond. Now that im back home in colorado our new home, im worried the lego store here wont live up to that one. Thanks for being awesome! My son has special needs and it was really nice to take him here because legos are really important with his behavioral input at home to help with regulating his moods. He really really enjoyed having areas to pose to take pictures and i was kind of nerding out over the Chicago highrise models and well...
