This location could try their best to compete with big brands Restaurant names like Benihana‘s but truthfully, customer service, is everything in this place does not hold to their standards. I’ve been to this place a good two times like my business partner installed sprinklers for this location and I figured support the business but the employees and manager of this location are very rude and standoffish on top of sarcastic and it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I would call to speak with the owner, but if these are the kind of people he’s hiring, I can’t even imagine who is he/her is. On January 14 2024 at 3:30 PM my husband, our two boys and I decided to come in for a hibachi style form of eating to spend our family Sunday when we go to the location. The front desk host looked bothered that people were even entering. When we get to be seated the guy tries to sit us, somewhere behind the cook where the cooks aas would be facing us the whole times and I kindly ask him if he could please move us somewhere where my 11-year-old and my two-year-old would be able to benefit from seeing the show. The guy gets bothered and starts pushing plates around not to mention the plates look dirty and now I understand why he’s putting his dirty hands on plates that people are going to use to eat with. It is disgusting to me because the plates look as if fingerprints were left behind and it was foggy it looked disgusting, he was touching the plates with dirty hands not once did he grab hand sanitizer, or excuse himself by using a napkin before touching the plates. It was just disgusting and cringe for me. Then he moves us to a location where he tries to sit two of us at the corner and two of us in front of the grill but I can’t have my two-year-old sit & 11 year old sit alone where fire is going to be near and so I ask him if we can all four sit in together like the other two people that were coming in were a couple and would probably benefit from sitting together instead of with my kids next to them The guy who walked us to our table immediately said absolutely not, and so I asked him if I can speak with a manager while waiting for the manager. I just felt that maybe this wasn’t the place for us to eat our Sunday dinner and so we decided to just get up and leave and on our way out we bumped into the manager who did not care to ask us what was wrong, nor what could she do to help the situation it was some short skinny lady, who sarcastically smiled and said “OK thank you goodbye” and I was just shocked that anyone would allow a manager to let money walk out of the door like that definitely not a place I would recommend to anyone I care about and not even an enemy would get an invite to this location I advised people to be wise about and double checking if the cleanliness is up to the standards because for me it was not. Overall, this is a place that has bad service, and the host need to use hand sanitizer before and after taking people to their table. This place What’s...

Our dinner date at Ooka Sushi Hibachi Lounge in Clifton left us with mixed feelings. The restaurant, with ample seating, offered a choice between hibachi and a la carte, and we opted for the latter. While the ambiance was pleasant, our overall experience was below average.

Starting with drinks, The Scorpion Bowl, though impressively large, fell short with its weak taste and an overwhelming amount of juice. In contrast, The Zombie cocktail was a winner, delivering a stronger kick and a satisfying finish.

Moving on to appetizers, the Mango Lover Sushi and Beef Negimaki showcased the divergence in quality. The sushi, unfortunately, left much to be desired, emanating a strong fish odor and taste that deviated from the usual standards of quality sushi. We couldn't bring ourselves to finish it. In contrast, he Beef Negimaki was a savory success, featuring well-prepared beef filled with scallions and green onions. The accompanying sauce elevated the dish, providing a flavorful and enjoyable experience.

For the main course, we selected the Seafood Yaki Udon and the Pineapple Fried Rice, the latter arriving uniquely in a half-carved pineapple. Despite the novelty, the pineapple fried rice left us wanting, as there was a noticeable scarcity of meat despite the additional charge for extra chicken. The dish also suffered from an oily texture and a lack of overall flavor. Conversely, the Seafood Yaki Udon garnered praise from my GF, who thoroughly enjoyed the well-executed combination of seafood and udon noodles.

Despite considering desserts, the options didn't appeal to us. Overall, the experience fell below average. The contrast between the hibachi and a la carte menus was noticeable, with the former proving more satisfying. We wouldn't likely choose the a la carte option again at Ooka Sushi...

I was very disappointed. I ordered over the phone for a pick up. I made sure that I ordered within a specific time because previously I called at 2:30 and was told the kitchen was closed because the workers had lunch at 3. The crazy thing is that the lunch hours are from 11 to 3!!

Anyway, I had to wait when I got there. I only live about 5 or so minutes away but when I got home, some of my food was cold. I ordered shrimp and vegetable tempura and the shrimp and scallop lunch hibachi meal which came with soup, salad, vegetables, rice and noodles. Instead of noodles, I asked for extra rice which it looked like I had a reg portion size. As you can see in the picture, there were only 3 of each of the shrimp and scallops, which were tiny.

I called to advise that my hibachi plate was not hot, not even warm. The girl tells me that that was impossible. Lol I told her it was. She kept going back and forth with me. I told her that I wasn't going to argue and I would just be posting a review. And for $20, it made the experience even worse. The tempura was the best part of my meal and that was an add on.

Oh, and if you order any type of seafood, let them know not to...

Great experience overall. Upon entering my girlfriend and I waited about 20 minutes for a table and were seated with 6 other guests. All our orders were promptly taken and our cook came over and was absolutely wonderful. He seemed a bit distracted at times but made us feel welcome and cooked the food to perfection. Great guy. I feel they could've paid more attention to the table drinks-wise so you'll probably have to wave someone down for another drink. Concerning other reviews about being rushed, I did not feel this. Had plenty of time to eat my food, paid my bill and left feeling satisfied as did my girlfriend. I would definitely recommend. One thing of note is parking kinda sucks. Once you go in and come back around there's no way to circle back into the lot unless you make an illegal left into oncoming traffic. Yeah don't do that...so just take whatever spot you see coming in.

Having a craving for hibachi, Ooka seemed to be one of the promising places to try in the area. We went for a weekday lunch. Upon entering it looked so dark and gloomy. Chairs appeared old and uncomfortable. Wasn’t a good first impression at all. I was happy to see the menu had lots of good combinations. I got the filet Mignon and lobster tail combo. The meal started with a very basic watery soup. Salad was actually good. Our chef joined few minutes later. He was totally in automated mode, going through is routine. No real expression or interaction with the guests, except where the routine required him to throw water or vegetables at the guests. I liked the rice and noodles. Lobster tail was decent. But filet Mignon was disappointing. We ordered a spider roll too. It was very basic, didn’t really excite me. Overall it was an underwhelming hibachi experience.
