Although at the end of the experience, the manager had apologized profusely and issued a refund, the experience itself was somewhat of a rollercoaster ride. I had called Saturday morning to order 2 deep dish pizzas for my husband’s birthday. Chicago deep dish pizzas are not that easy to find, so this was supposed to be special. I called ahead of time so that there wouldn’t be any hiccups, for pick up at 4 pm. I had explained to the young lady that answered the phone that I would be traveling from Jersey (where they are located near where I work) to NY (where I live). I explained that the pizzas were for my husbands birthday and asked what the best way to keep them fresh for the commute. Whether they had insulated bags they could sell or if there’s another suggestion. With an attitude, the young lady replied uhh we sell them in pizza boxes. I told her that I understood that, but what would be the best way to keep them fresh for commute. Her response was, “turn the heat in your car on”. I asked if she can please ask someone else. She put a manager on the phone. I had again calmly explained my situation and the manager kindly and enthusiastically suggested getting what’s called a “ready fresh pizza” which she explained meant they put the pizza together and they would give us instructions on how to cook it in the oven. I did mention what the young lady had suggested and she apologized. I then went to pick up the pizza at 4 and I didn’t see any instructions. I asked the ladies that handed me the pizza if they had the instructions because I was told it would come with instructions and I wouldn’t know how to cook it. Their response was, “just pop it in the oven. I’ve never sold that pizza before.” At this point I was a little frustrated with their customer service from the beginning. I again asked if they can ask someone else. Another lady came over and handed me instructions that were printed out. When I got home I then realized they weren’t even the pizzas I had ordered and they didn’t have sauce on it. I ordered one classic and one pepperoni, we were given one sausage and one with cheese. Although the box labels and receipt indicated what I actually ordered. I called a couple of days later to let management know. She was very apologetic and understanding. She did explain that the pizzas should have come with sauce in jars on the side to add, which they didn’t. And she explained that the instructions were printed on the box, which I didn’t know and it also wasn’t explained to me. She was very apologetic and offered a refund. Management had taken care of the situation well both times, but the staff needs a lot of training in what they’re selling and in customer service. I think I rather learn how to make my own deep dish than order from this establishment again.
Edit: I added a couple of stars since the last manager I spoke with was kind and sounded as frustrated as I was about the situation. I finally got my refund after a few days of waiting. Kim, the manager made sure to take of my unfortunate once and for all. ...

It's a chain establishment that is supposed to replicate Chicago-style pizza with a rich menu. Upon arrival at the host station, the vibe was inviting with the music playing in the background. We were greeted by the staff and got a table by the window from our last visit a year ago. We decided on the Detroit OTC and Super Roni pizza. The food arrived hot, well seasoned, and delicious. The cheese was awesome and the sauce perfect. The service was quick. Our server, Christian, was amazing and checked on us enough. While eating, the manager came over and asked how our food was. Our stomach was happy, and the price didn’t break the wallet, which we can recommend. —————————- Established in 1943, this chain restaurant started as a pizzeria but gradually expanded its menu, adding burgers, wings, and other entrees. My partner and I were craving Chicago-style deep dish pizza and decided to drive to Uno in Clifton, located off of Route 3 West. Upon entering, there were a few patrons eating an early lunch today, so the service was excellent, and our server was Brandon. Pizzas are the star of this show, but they have pretty much everything on the menu that would satisfy hungry customers looking for good quality and even comfort food. We have decided on creating our own individual deep pizzas consisting of green pepper, beyond beef with cheddar cheese, and another pepperoni, artichoke, and sautéed spinach. What used to take Uno as long as 45 minutes to cook a deep-dish pizza, which is a tough sell to customers, can now be done in as little as 24 minutes. The pizza was correctly done to our specifications with a buttery, ‘out-of-this-world’ crust that had a tall edge like a fruit pie. The recipe combined authentic, fresh Italian spices and quality tomatoes with more cheese than people could believe and then baked it. The food came out hot and was very good. The establishment has a nice décor, a full bar, and is very clean. Parking can sometimes be a bit challenging, but overall, it's a decent place for lunch or dinner, which we continue...
Read moreFirst let me say it's not my first time dining here, however visited yesterday with my hubby for what I thought was 1/2 price happy hour and apps!!!
WRONG, drinks we ordered "apparently" were not 1/2 price although we were sitting in the bar area. Let me preface this with both of us when waitress came mentioned we would like to see menu for 1/2 price drinks and appetizers.
She handed us 2 menus, one being just for dinks! Entrance of restaurant and inside listed are the weekly happy hour specials. Thursday was for martinis. I pointed on the drink menu to a blood orange martini and my husband orders a margarita. She said margaritas are $2 and $4 and asked did he want a flavored one, frozen or in the rocks. He asked what flavors and she mentioned pineapple. So he went with the pineapple margarita.
We received our drinks, minutes later she came over and asked were we ready to order food. We did and she then proceeds to tell me oh sorry I just found out blood orange martini is not part of the happy hour and that she was not aware because bar area is not her section.
Food arrives, we ate and had our drinks; bill comes and margarita is $8. I mention it to her, she walks over to guy bartending and returns to tell us margarita special is NOT today!
Not a big deal as it only $8, my issue is all the misrepresentation both in the establishment and the staff. Signs posted with the specials yet it is miscommunicated. Not to mention, poor management as they have someone working that they did not train or bring up to speed in area she was working.
I work for an ad agency and misrepresentation is NOT ok with any of our clients. My pics will show no where inside and outside of restaurant did it indicate specific flavors. Not even in fine print on the menu. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth....
