This particular location is about 5 minutes from the airport if not less. It is extremely convenient if you have a flight or coming off of a flight you can actually take the train from the airport and it comes right to the hotel area and will drop you off. If you are driving they have valet or there is a parking deck located next to the hotel very convenient self parking and ballet are about $5 difference around 30 bucks a night for valet. The customer service is absolutely impeccable. I parked my car in the front they allow me to park and unload and check in go up to my room and then come back. Not a lot of hotels will allow that they want you to either valet or self Park and do your check in I appreciate it that convenience. As you walk into the hotel there are various areas and appeasing ambience in so many different corners of the hotel the furniture is pleasing and well thought through. Lots of decor. And artwork on the walls. The bar area is very well decorated and the customer service at the bar is also very good. When you check in it is a pretty quick process I was in line for about 5 minutes there were two individuals in front of me, I got through pretty quickly. Once I was heading up to my room again the multiple Lobby areas was very pleasing to the eye, there was also a live DJ playing in the lobby and there are several Sports screens around the bar area in case you want to catch the local game. Plenty of lounging spaces well if you want to just sit off to the side with some friends and chat and catch up there is also a restaurant that is connected to the bar area in case you don't want to just have drinks you like to have a meal they have several seating options if you would like to sit down with a large party and have a meal or just a small claim intimate meal with friends they have seating for it all and they have a menu to accommodate. As I proceeded up to the room the elevator was clean each floor is decorated and has really cute art deco and quotes on the walls I absolutely love the big huge"?" On the doors that is something different never seen anything like that before but this was really interesting so I like that and artwork throughout the hallways I love the Ambiance and the aesthetic as I approached my room. Once I got to my room and keyed in I was more than satisfied with the overall appearance of the room it was very clean to the eye and tidy I like the way they tied and the decor and the bathroom and on the walls around the bedroom area. I did see a few pieces of hair around the sink area I wiped them off of tissue and went on about my way I'm just praying that there is not anything like that in the shower area because so far this is an A+ rating! The bed is very soft and sleeps very comfy I lay down briefly on it that was very satisfied. There are several surroundings restaurants and shopping areas near this location you really can't beat the bang for your buck, being right next to the airport as well as multiple shopping and restaurant options. Enjoy!

I’ve stayed at all four Marriott brand Gateway hotels near the GICC, and the Renaissance is my favorite by far. Like the Marriott and SpringHill Suites, it’s located right next to the GICC station, so it’s incredibly convenient to the airport (one stop away). The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are in very good condition, but what separates the Renaissance from the other Marriott brand hotels in the area is that the staff here take the extra step to make you feel appreciated. As a lifetime platinum member, I was upgraded automatically to a one bedroom suite, and the room was fantastic. Lots of space and well designed for people who need to get work done. Also, while waiting for check-in, I saw the bartender who happened to be at the check-in desk offer a customer a drink while she waited for a problem to be resolved - nice touch to smooth over a difficult situation. In my experience, the staff here is just more thoughtful and conscientious - sometimes, small gestures make all the difference when you are traveling. The staff at the hotel restaurant, Hickory & Hazel, are also incredibly friendly and professional as they deftly manage waves of conventioneers who are often…well, drunk and unpleasant to put it bluntly. The only downside to the Renaissance is that their lounge is tiny - 14 seats and a couch. It’s a shame because the food is very good (when I was there, they were serving very good penne with meatballs, fresh salad greens in a jar, assorted charcuterie, assorted snacks, etc). For people with lounge access, I would recommend picking up some food at the lounge, bringing it out to the wonderfully spacious and comfortable lobby, and enjoying your food with a glass of wine from H&H - it’s a great way to unwind after a long day.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Checked in today on a booking.com reservation. Traveling from the UK and understanding how our bank fees work and how long it takes for “pending” holds to get released on debit cards. We pay the room and taxes on our debit card and put the incidental fees on a credit card as the pending charge on the credit card doesn’t incure extra fees while waiting to be released. Never ever had a problem with this in ANY US hotel before. This hotel is different. Not only did they charge my credit card as requested. But charged the debit card too for the incidental fees. So charged twice. Not content with just the one cock up (which I can accept) they then charged our debit card AGAIN several hours later! So a $75 hold fee has ended up as $225 hold fee. And all the manager said with a shrug of her shoulders was “what do you want me to do about it?” That said, room and actual hotel is lovely. Shame it’s run and managed the way it is. Take your money elsewhere Images are booking.com booking. Credit card showing $75 hold and debit card showing hotel fee including extra hold fee and then the 3rd extra hold fee.

I cannot speak more highly about this hotel. I've stayed in many Marriott hotels, both internationally and throughout the US. My family has many longtime Bonvoy members (10+ years) and we've stayed in all tiers. We came here for a family reunion and it was exceptionally easy to get from the airport to the hotel due to the hotel's location. It's an elevator away. We also didn't have the stress of leaving early to get to the airport on time. It's the first time I had a leisurely full breakfast before getting on a morning flight. No stress or headache about getting through traffic. Ok so the location is great, but there are many other hotels this close to the Atlanta airport, so why THIS hotel? (Brilliant planning on the airport/hotel development by the way)

Renaissance Marriott is gorgeous. The lobby feels like a resort with its escapist calm energy. The decor is modern and luxurious. Great choices for seating and hanging out. We had family drop us off after the reunion, and we were able to have a full choice of comfortable, fun seating for a family dinner. We were addicted to the chair swings.

The restaurant has a fantastic menu and lots of options for different dietary needs. The only thing I'd add is a raw fish (poke, hand roll, or sushi roll) option. That's usually my go to for a fresh healthy option. We ate here for every breakfast AND dinner for 3 days. It was too easy and delicious. Also the choices of seating anywhere in the lobby, bar, or restaurant made you feel like you had a different experience each time. Pricing is also quite fair, hence the repeat visits. We had dinner for 4 adults, with drinks, for under $150.

I also loved the gorgeous and private public lobby bathroom. It too had a luxurious feel with a comfortable homey vibe.

The hotel staff are wonderful. Very professional and friendly. You feel like your in a home away from home. If you aren't super social, they also are respectful of that as well. They aren't overbearing or pushy like some hotels. We loved the concierge desk who let us check in early after a red eye flight, the easy going young valets who were accommodating of our family, the wait staff, the manager Maria, and the housekeepers. All staff experiences were positive. Everyone was respectful to all members of my family. When the bar wasn't open, Maria, the manager recommended the sports bar and restaurant across the street, Champions, which was also a Marriott. Thomas the bartender was great and my dad didn't want to leave! We were late to the reunion! Haha. The staff seem genuinely happy and treated well.

All in all, whether traveling for a social, family, or business outing, you won't be disappointed. We talked to several people who came 1 night for concerts, and loved it. Business people were content. We recommended it to other family to stay here in the future. Thanks...

The worst customer service I’ve ever received at a Bonvoy hotel. With the exception of one gentlemen on the housekeeping staff, every request to have our room cleaned ( it was NEVER cleaned for the first two full days) was met with contempt or being totally ignored. We requested at least five times to have the room cleaned and left the room for hours when they said they would come right up and clean it so to please make sure that we were out of the room. We still returned early evening to a completely dirty room. Since they did not have any dining services during the day we had to eat in our room, and it desperately needed to be cleaned. I was told by the front desk worker on the fifth request that OK they would have somebody clean it tomorrow, as if THE NEXT AND 3rd DAY, when normal cleaning should’ve been done, was an acceptable response.

We had two reservations, one for an adjoining room for last 2 nights of our stay so remaining family could join us. When I went to check in to the adjoining room they told me that the hotel was completely sold out and that I would not be able to check in until evening. I told them that there was nobody staying next-door, I’ve been there for two days already and I know the room was empty but fine. When I returned to check in hours later (at the same time found out our first room wasn’t cleaned again), I was told by the same person who told me I had to check in later that my reservation was only for one night and that it was sold out and I couldn’t check in tonight. I showed her my bonvoy app reservation reservation, the same one I had showed her in the morning. She said I’m sorry but the hotel is sold out there’s nothing I can do. I told her she had to do some thing I had a guaranteed reservation, that she and I reviewed reservation in the morning. She said “you called and canceled one of the nights”. I explained that cancellations always have an email and a cancellation number neither of which I have and that the reservation still exists. She somehow “magically” found that she could fix it and give me the room that I had originally reserved for both nights. No apology, just total rudeness. Her manager Ali was equally rude by phone about another issue. It was simply the most maddening hotel stay ever. You would think that it wasn’t a service industry but that they thought I was lucky for getting to stay there. As for being a Bonvoy member, never acknowledged. This hotel needs a new...
