I considered the Marriott Gateway hotel for a stay on my trip to Atlanta. I stayed for four nights from the 12th to the16 , but ultimately, my experience at this hotel was the worst I have ever had in history staying at any hotel in the united state, and it was not worth the cost. Below, I have summarized the inappropriate service and quality I experienced. None of the requested services were met by the front desk staff although i had reported it in person. However, not wanting to ruin my schedule appointment close by the surrounding area I decided to overlook the dirty dusty room, the refrigerator that didn’t work and the engineer who never arrived for the four days , the room that was not cleaned once out of the four days that i was there, the bathroom shelves that has built up dust from day one to day four, the dusty bed headboard that affects my asthma nightly, the dusty dirty night stands, the bed linens that were not changed once out of my four days stay even though i had toss the entire linen on the floor to give the cleaner a hit that it needed changing but it was placed back on the bed on the opposite side by the individual who was responsible to clean the room i was able to identify that the linen wasn’t changed because it had specify stains on it which was easily recognizable, the trash was in the can for two days smelling from leftover and the coffee bag, the loose hair from past guests and myself was visible on the carpet for four days. The A/C filter needs to be change due to poor air quality in the room. Such poor quality services making me regret having to stay at a 4-star hotel with such treatment. The cleanliness of the room was the worst The bedding and pillows were covered with various stains that were not properly cleaned, and there were various glass shards and small pieces of trash left by previous guests in the corners of the room, making me question whether the staff properly cleaned the room.
I am very skeptical about staying at any Marriott hotels in the future due to my experience at the Marriott Gateway. And also the issues my friends had experience at the other Marriott hotels in ATL during their stay, I could usually communicate with the staff and ultimately receive the service I wanted, but I had no such experience at this hotel. Overall, the staff were rude and unfriendly, and because that i ended up with a negative impression not only of Marriott but also of Atlanta. It is very unfortunate to say that despite being a 4-star hotel, the staff's attitude and service, as well as the cleanliness of the room, were worse than or equivalent to a 3-star hotel. If you are not particularly sensitive to these aspects, it may not matter, but if you are considering this hotel to go on business meetings trips or business seminars please consider other options around the area do not base a hotel off the stars because it doesn’t really reflect the quality of service one receives most times. The Marriott Gateways Atlanta Management should consider changing their leadership positions because someone is accountable for this mess of a service that i had received. I have several videos of the four days that i was staying there. I hope my feedback helps Marriott Gateway Atlanta hotel improve their customer service. Room.0 ...
Read moreAs a Marriott member for several years, I have exclusively used their hotels. To celebrate my wife's birthday, I considered the Marriott Gateway hotel for our trip to Atlanta. We stayed for two nights from the 26th to the 28th, but ultimately, our experience at this hotel was the worst I have ever had, and it was not worth the cost. Below, I have summarized the inappropriate service and quality I experienced.
None of the requested services were considered Our reservation included a 'room upgrade' option and guaranteed a total of 5000 member points. However, the front desk staff adamantly stated that the 'room upgrade' option was not available without properly checking it, which made me very angry at the time. However, not wanting to ruin my wife's birthday, I decided to overlook it, thinking it was not properly reflected in the system. We considered 'early check-in' and pre-requested several items such as extra towels, a baby crib, a high floor, and extra foam pillows. However, the room we were assigned did not reflect these options, which further infuriated our family. We requested an A/C filter change due to poor air quality in the room, as well as additional towels, but we did not receive these services, eventually. In the end, to get towels, I had to go to the front desk myself, where I was rudely handed the towels, making me regret having to stay at a 4-star hotel with such treatment.
The cleanliness of the room was the worst The bedding and pillows were covered with various stains that were not properly cleaned, and there were various glass shards and small pieces of trash left by previous guests in the corners of the room, making me question whether the staff properly cleaned the room.
Conclusion Our family has become very skeptical about staying at Marriott hotels in the future due to our experience at the Marriott Gateway. Although issues can arise at other Marriott hotels I have stayed at, I could usually communicate with the staff and ultimately receive the service I wanted, but I had no such experience at this hotel. Overall, the staff were rude and unfriendly, and our family ended up with a negative impression not only of Marriott but also of Atlanta. It is very unfortunate to say that despite being a 4-star hotel, the staff's attitude and service, as well as the cleanliness of the room, were worse than or equivalent to a 3-star hotel. If you are not particularly sensitive to these aspects, it may not matter, but if you are considering this hotel to spend precious moments with your family, you should be aware that you must meticulously double-check and scrutinize the requests you made during the reservation process.

Read moreUpon arriving, the front desk rep Sandra was extremely rude and condescending to me when checking in. She had a nasty attitude and didn't even greet me. I was standing at the front desk waiting to be helped and she just looked at me without speaking.. Every question I asked her seemed to annoy her and at one point she raised her voice at me and told me to look at my confirmation. This was a shock considering I had read so many good reviews about the hotel previously. She was the most unprofessional and rudest hotel front desk representative I have ever come across. Thankfully her co-worker Andrea came over and spoke kindly to me to help me. Also Trudy, the manager on duty who I met later, was amazing and very helpful and professional throughout my stay. It turned out that Sandra had made an error and the charges she was explaining were totally different from the charges on my confirmation. So that was one horrible experience.
Secondly, upon entering my room after checking in, I went over to one of the double beds. Immediately I noticed make-up smeared all over one of the pillowcases. Clearly, the housekeeping staff had not changed the sheets on this particular bed at least. I called down to the front desk to inform them and request another pillowcase be sent. I waited and waited for over an hour and never heard anything back. Eventually I had to go out into the hallways and find a housekeeping cart. Additionally, there was one more instance where I called down to request an item be sent to my room. I was told it was no problem and it would be right up. However, after waiting and waiting, I never received that item either. The hotel seems to be very poorly ran and unorganized.
Thirdly, I received misinformation about the availability of the pool. On the day I arrived, I was told by a staff member that the pool was only closed for the day for maintenance and would re-open the following day. Needless to say, the pool was closed for the entire duration of the four days I was there. Had I known that previously, I would have not even stayed there. So I feel I was purposely misled, which goes back to my statement of the entire hotel being poorly managed and operated. If these are the kind of staff members they routinely have dealing with guests, then I don't see how this hotel can stay in business. Other than the close proximity to the airport, my experience was far below satisfactory even for the most...
