UPDATE: After going back and forth with corporate and the hotel I finally got my refund from corporate after the hotel rudely talked to me any time I tried to talk to the manager the manager always seemed to never be there or be in a meeting when I called so I talked to who said she was the next best person who essentially told me everything I said was wrong and that I wouldn’t be getting a refund so I went to corporate again they told me they billed the hotel and I would get a check in the mail.
Do not stay here ever!!! I stayed here this past weekend (October 4-6 2024) and it was by far the worst stay I’ve had at any hotel ever and I’ve stayed at some pretty bad hotels. It started off simple checked in went to the room relaxed decided to go swimming with my younger brother and the pool wasn’t bad just a little cold and cloudy but what can you expect from a hotel pool. Went back to the room to find out our bathroom door doesn’t latch or lock no big deal didn’t care about it too much just used the trash can to keep it shut. Went to bed and was abruptly awoken at 1234am by someone unlocking my door and trying to open it by slamming it into the top lock it stopped so I went locked the door got back in bed and 5 minutes later happened again no knocking or anything door unlocked and slams into the top lock again multiple times so I called the front desk and explained someone was trying to get into my room the guy working said it was him trying to get in my room and that he thought the room was vacant and no one was staying in it which I then informed him my self and my younger brother were staying in the room and that if he came and tried getting in again I would call the cops. I try to fall back asleep to then be scared at 103am to him trying to get in the room again to which I slam the door shut and say hello and then he never responded and just walked away. I called the cops and told them the situation and they came and told me they talked to the worker and he said he was trying to check in another guest and that they told him I was staying in this room and my reservation showed it. I was finally able to fall asleep at almost 315am and slept for a little bit woke up and saw an email from Hilton saying my reservation was canceled at 343am which I was confused cause I wasn’t awake so again called the front desk and was told the hotel canceled my room while I was sleeping in the room. The lady working the desk told me I could get new keys and they would keep the room for me. And then asked for the employees name who worked the previous evening and was given an explanation to why he tried getting in my room she told me he was doing an audit which confused me cause the cops told me he was trying to check someone in. I again asked for the employee’s name and she would not give it to me so I went to my room and called corporate to get a refund cause no customer should be treated in such a rude manner. Corporate told me that all billing is done through the hotel and they couldn’t give me a refund and she would have to talk to the front desk to see what could be done I was put on hold as she talked to the front desk. After she talked to the front desk she told me the hotel refused to give me a refund no reason but they just refused to. I asked to speak to someone higher up and I did and the lady I talked to was so nice very helpful and helped me try to get a case started to get me a refund she told me that corporate would just bill the hotel and give me a refund if the claim went through. So we did that but unfortunately the servers were down and she couldn’t submit it but told me to call back Monday to get it sent and that a note would be left on my account about it. My family and I usually only stay at Hilton because it is a nice hotel chain but never again will I be coming back to this location the only good thing about it was the rooms were recently updated and looked nice everything else was terrible. Read moreBOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!! DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could give zero stars I would. This hotel is dirty and unsafe. The room we stayed in had stains all over the carpet. The wall behind the door was busted in and had terrible drywall patch work. The bathtub was so nasty and looked like it was never cleaned. I had to buy a tub cleaner to clean the bath out so I could give my small children a bath it was that gross. The shower curtain, shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles, shower head, and caulking around the bath tub were covered in black mold and the start of mold with pink rings around them. Clearly the tub is rarely cleaned properly. Bleach and a magic eraser would go a long way for this hotel. The bathroom had ants/spiders all over the ceiling corners. The vent in the bathroom was falling off the wall and was covered in black mold and dust. So nasty!!!! The bathroom floor had a huge crack in the tile and I almost cut my foot on the crack. The room did not have a thermostat as it looked like someone had torn it off the wall and it was never replaced. We asked for towels about 5 times in our 2 night stay and they would take our room number done and say they would bring some up once the laundry was done and the towels never arrived. We had to take pool towels to dry off with after a shower because we had ONE towel for 5 people in the room. No one ever came in to take trash or dirty laundry. I requested this. I never saw a housekeeper at all. The soap bottles were empty. Overall very bad experience and Hilton should inspect this place immediately. They should be embarrassed to let this property have their brand name on it. This does not live up to the brand standard at all. The pool was absolutely horrible!!!! It had toilet paper floating everywhere and big clumps of hair everywhere. The water did not smell clean and had no chlorine/chemical smell. Seems very unkept and dirty. The health department should shut this pool down immediately!!! I have been swimming in cleaner lakes than this pool!! The ceiling in the pool area had black mold all over and the pool area was so nasty and unclean. The breakfast area and hallways were dirty and unkept as well. A vacuum cleaner would go a long way in this place!! The breakfast attendant was crusty and rude. Cussing under breathe for having to make more coffee and put more waffle batter out. The elevator rarely worked. We tried to book another hotel to avoid staying here but all the other hotels were sold out for the weekend. This hotel really ruined what should have been a fun family vacation and get away. We are so glad to be checked out of this place. We are fearful that we might bring some unwanted guest back with us…. BEDBUGS! I checked all the beds and common areas and did not see any thing but still so paranoid that because of how dirty and unkept this place is they definitely have them somewhere. The outside property looks horrible! The weeds are so overgrown and smells like cigarettes all the time. It’s in the hood and seemed very unsafe. The only good thing about this place was that the front desk staff was very kind and professional. Overall very dissatisfied with this property and Hilton should look into this property immediately and shut it down or help make it up to brand standard because this place is worse...

We always stay the night somewhere halfway through our cross-country drive and already had a reservation for this hotel. In Iowa it started to snow and that continued throughout our drive. In Illinois it worsened to blackout conditions on the interstate and we were forced to drive at 45-50 mph. The snowstorm continued into Indiana and Ohio. Everyone else was driving slow as well because of the reduced visibility. Stopping to call the hotel to let them know we were running late was the furthest thing from our minds. We were focused on the road and keeping our family, especially our younger children, safe. We finally arrived at this hotel in the middle of the night and it is still snowing. My husband stood at the counter saying hello several times before someone finally heard him. The desk clerk had obviously been woken up by my husband as she seemed disoriented and drool was coming out of the side of her mouth. She was extremely unprofessional from the start. She stated that we could not stay because we didn’t show up before midnight. She had no compassion for what we had been through, let alone tried to be helpful in any way. But she did say that we would not be charged since we didn’t stay. THAT WAS A LIE, AS SHE CHARGD OUR CARD RIGHT AFTER WE LEFT. She turned our family away in the middle of the night in a snowstorm. We literally drove around in the middle of the night, in a snowstorm, and finally found a hotel that finally took pity on us and let us stay. SHOUT OUT TO THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS COLUMBUS SOUTH - OBETZ! You were a lifesaver!! Your hotel was clean and most importantly your staff was accommodating and very nice. All our family wanted was a warm bed to sleep in for a few hours. Speaking to this hotel the next day was absolutely pointless. They refused to give us a refund. They could have cared less. We called Hilton corporate and took it above their heads. They thought our situation was severe enough to warrant transferring us to the escalation department. They even could not believe we were treating us this way. When they called this hotel location they told corporate that they were still not giving us a refund. Long story short, Hilton corporate is sending a refund check and sending this location a bill. You enjoy that. Thank you for ruining the first night of our trip, for putting us out on the street and being so inconsiderate to our family. Thank you again to the other hotel who took us in (Holiday Inn Express South and to Hilton corporate, for caring and for remedying the situation.
