We have stayed at this hotel several times and just recently had issues. We stayed in July for my husbands bday (he has a severe head injury). They have a cookie hour from 8-9pm and there is no limit on how many cookies a person can have, never has been. The aid that was helping with my husband took him and my kids down to get cookies, they were told they could only have 2 cookies. I called the desk and asked when this started and the woman that answered tried to say it's always been this way. I corrected her and she gave them 2 more cookies, so generous as if she was paying for them. Then the worker told my aid that she needs to think of the other people there that the cookies have to feed all of them. That isn't our problem, hampton inn advertises this and they need to make enough cookies. They were too lazy to make more cookies, that's what it amounted to. So I demanded my money back because they ruined our evening. When going to a hotel again in September to make up for that ridiculous evening I called that hotel (because they have a lift to get my husband in and out of the pool) to make sure we weren't going to have any issues. The woman that answered the phone at 4pm on Thursday was very helpful and made the reservation, she didn't mention a rate but the internet rate was $116 for Hilton honor members, she said the manager may want to comp the room (which I wouldn't expect I just expect what I pay for, nothing more or less) so she left a message for the manager, Ashley. Ashley called me and said there wouldn't be any problems and offered to make extra cookies for us. I told her no because I didn't need extra anything and I don't trust people that want to do that, they can mess with your food. I go to check in and Ashley personally set my room rate at $159 per room, which was $43 more per night than it was when I called (on the internet). The internet is run by Hilton and hampton inn is a Hilton hotel so it isn't 3rd party. So the people at the desk were acting as if I was making everything up because they said their rates always end in a 9. So I pulled up the internet and showed them it didn't. Because my husband and autistic children were there with all our stuff in the lobby I paid their rate but I will NEVER go back and I wouldn't ever send anyone there. The staff is phony except Nancy. But there was a large woman with long brown hair making faces and a man named Patrick doing my check in, they were the ones that didn't even know that their rates don't always end in a 9! Heads up, always book online because people like this can decide what rate to give you and it isn't usually in your favor. They proved they were dishonest the first visit when they lied about a limit to the cookies. Their manager, Ashley, even though she wasn't there tried to say they were handing out 2 and having people get back in line. Which also wasn't the case. They came out and said on more than one occasion there was a limit, then tried to make their problem of possibly not having enough cookies our problem. Stay away, there are too many other things quality hampton Inn's to go to this one. Turns out the lift for the hot tub didn't work and we didn't know until my husband was strapped in and it lowered about 2 inches then stopped. We had to lift the lift with him in it to get him out because he was dangling over the water. Turns out the battery was dead, again a maintenance issue, I couldn't get him to try again so once again this hotel failed to serve its...
Read moreWe recently were in the area for a family funeral and had made a last minute decision to stay the night due to a snow storm that was falling upon Arkansas (the direction we needed to drive). We had some booking issues online due to my own stupidity and emotional state following the funeral. I walked into the lobby of the hotel and the staff members were so sweet and kind. They helped me calm myself and got us set for the evening in a room. I explained that we were in town for a funeral and they made a modification to our reservation to provide a bereavement/funeral discount. I was not expecting a discount and this was incredibly sweet that the staff provided this for us, especially since it was a last minute decision to stay overnight.||Once we got to our room, we were amazed at how modern the room was and how clean it was! It was immaculate! We settled in as a light snowfall began and we were very comfortable. At 8pm we went downstairs to the lobby when they began serving warm cookies and milk (coffee and tea are always available too). ||The next morning we had breakfast and once again encountered such friendly staff members! I had biscuits and gravy and my spouse had eggs, sausage, and toast. The property has waffle makers, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. - it was a large variety of the the usuals that we often find at Hampton Inns, and nicely stocked/replenished.||Due to the heavy snowfall overnight, we decided to head up the hill to the auto store to get some windshield wiper fluid and to stop in Walgreens - so conveniently located nearby! When we came back to the hotel, the staff was mopping the back entry door area to ensure guests had a safe, dry path.||I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and this hotel and we will definitely consider staying here again when...
Read more2023: Coming back through the St Louis area a year later and must update my review. Sadly I am waking up after a terrible night’s sleep. The bed was uncomfortable, air conditioning was unpredictable and didn’t cool the room most of the night. The room was NOT clean, and I had expectations from my last stay. The carpet had not been vacuumed and has bleach stains. The walls have patches and need painted. It is one thing for decor to be dated but in good repair. But at some point you actually have to do the updates. When I checked in on the app, a room was not available to be chosen so we had to stop at the front desk. Ryan checked us in and made no mention of our Diamond member status, nor did he offer waters (which is a perk of the status). On our next trip through we will like look at another hotel family.
2022: 5/5 - We travel frequently and on this trip stayed in three different Hampton Inn locations - this location was the best I have seen in a LONG time. For starters, the room was super clean and smelled fresh. Everything was in good repair - carpet, wallpaper, paint, furniture. The room was beautifully decorated. Staff at the front desk was the same person from our stay one year ago (which speaks to good management). The hot water for tea was hot (it was not hot at the other two locations). There were fresh baked cookies wrapped up for visitors to take. They had grab and go breakfast bags for visitors. All these details speak to how well this location is run and managed....
