Arrived shortly after 1:00 and was able to be seated when I walked in. Only 1 other table of diners and another couple came in later. Not much of a lunch crowd at all. I think they do a larger carry out than in-house.
It appears to be the owner and wife who do everything. The guy is not real friendly and certainly doesn't have a smile but I think that's not intentional. Just "taking care of business". The woman smiles ๐.
I ordered the Musaman Curry with chicken, potatoes, peanuts and onion. It was quite good and I would definitely order it again. However, it was very soupy. Seemed to have a good amount of chicken, maybe 2 or 3 chunks of potato and maybe 2 or 3 pieces of onion and about 5 peanuts. It was still soupy even after adding the rice.
I'm normally full halfway thru and always take home Thai leftovers but this time I finished the full lunch w no leftovers. I guess portions are just smaller these days.
The restaurant itself is dreary with dark paneling on all the walls. It did seem clean, just dark. Has nice big tables but they have a sticky top. Not from being dirty, I guess it's just sticky from the varnish.
Was finished with my lunch for about 8 minutes and waiting for the bill, which did not come but finally just got up and went to the counter and waited there to pay.
I would go back because the curry is great and give service...
ย ย ย Read moreWe went in and ordered $50 worth of food, and we did not like any of it. After I drank the Thai coffee, I asked how they made it because it was very syrupy and did not taste normal. They told me they do not make it, but instead buy a concentrate and add creamer.
For an appetizer, we ordered their pot stickers, which are not typical of Thai tradition and were LARGELY fried with little stuffing in there. Not worth the $6. My husband ordered the salmon nigiri. He said it was okay. He said the salmon had little to no fat, and was dry. He said the rice it was served over was cold.
Then we split the Red Dragon Roll - The tuna on top was not fresh, the shrimp was not tempura style with the exception of the tail they added to the plat for aesthetics. This is not somewhere you should go for sushi.
Then we had the pho for dinner - do NOT go here for Pho. There are so many other amazing Thai restaurants in St. Louis where you can get...
ย ย ย Read moreHorrible experience. First time at this place and it was a disaster.
I ordered through their website, where they had me choose a pickup time (ordered around 3, chose 5 pm pickup time). Fifteen minutes later, I get an email that it's ready. I called the restaurant and explained that I chose a 5 pm pickup and the guy on the phone was ignorant and tried making me feel guilty for them already making it (receipt shows 5 pm time, btw).
When I went there at 5, the guy gave me trouble again. And again, this was through their site.
I still got the food because I wanted to try it, though. When I got home and ate it, almost all of the duck in the dish was bone and grissle. I called the restaurant back up and told them and the guy told me that I was lying, that they never have bones in their duck ๐. So, I took a pic of the pieces of bone.
I definitely do not recommend this place. There are a lot of other, better Thai places...
