I returned to this Holiday Inn after my first stay was a pleasant experience.
The exterior of the hotel is modern-looking and clean. There is plenty of parking available, and a wide entryway for loading and unloading. The hotel itself is close to I-55, with fast food available on both sides of the highway, as well as an outdoor shopping area which includes a large Schnucks grocery.
The lobby is immaculately clean, as is the breakfast area, the waiting areas and the carpets. (A housekeeper was
vacuuming the carpets thoroughly just as I checked out).
The staff is courteous and helpful and I was able to check in quickly, with recognition of my Elite status. (An amenity was
immediately entered into my account).
The room itself was large and had a comfortable feel. Again, the room was spotless and so was the bathroom. There was a large closet for clothes, benches and tables for bags, a sofa, chair and writing desk and a good-sized workspace with multiple charging outlets.
The bed had charging outlets on each side and individually-controlled light switches. The mattress and pillows were more comfortable than in most other hotels where I have stayed.
Newer Holiday Inns such as this one have spacious, well-
designed bathrooms. There was no wasted space, but it was not confining at all. Extra towels and washcloths were available and in the tub there was a rack of J.D. Watkins bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. The sliding glass doors were a big improvement over the shower curtains found in many less expensive establishments.
At breakfast, a variety of hot and cold items were offered -- including real oatmeal (as opposed to instant). Everything tasted great, and I was impressed by the attendant who constantly wiped down the various counters, serving stations
and dispensers. After seeing so many breakfast areas where serving stations and tables are covered with spilled food, and floors are sticky with food residue, this Holiday Inn breakfast
area was a pleasant change. In addition to a large dining area inside, there is outdoor seating when the weather cooperates.
After a restful night of sleep and a good breakfast, I was checked out quickly and got on the road exactly on schedule. I will definitely return to this Holiday Inn on future trips to St. Louis and in the meantime I recommend it...
Read moreTraveled with a family of six for a two night stay... We got a suite with a double bed. Really loved the first impression. Was pretty proud of myself when we walked in to check in. Thought I nailed it in terms of niceness and location. (The location is amazing!! We went to City Museum, Magic House, the Arch and the zoo and you just hop right onto the highway to get anywhere. And staying a bit south of everything saved us money. Prices were great!!)
Check in staff were friendly. Check in was easy. Hotel was clean. Rooms are spacious. The room cleanliness seemed as though the staff might have been rushed. The fridge was a bit dirty and had a hair in it and the bathroom floor had some hair on it as well but I travel with Clorox wipes and just wiped it up myself. The beds were amazing... so comfy and plush. The linens and pillows were luxurious. The sofa bed was... well, a sofa bed. So if you’ve got a larger party of picky sleepers keep this in mind. My 15 year old and 4 year old boys shared it. The 15 year old said it was noisy. But again, it’s a sofa bed. The rooms are incredibly spacious and we never felt like we were piled on top of each other. Which is important with six people; four kids ranging from 4 to 15. Nobody fought!! Keurig coffee pot was a sweet touch. Breakfast was delicious with a bunch of fun options, like pancakes!! The pool was LOADED with chlorine so if you’re sensitive, Skip it. It was also freezing. I thought I read that it was heated but there’s no way. We only swam once though for a few minutes and it was a nice option. Workout room looked nice though we didn’t use it. We had a room on the back side of the hotel and the view was pretty good. There was a patch of grass that we could see some groundhogs playing in.
Sunday night rates were super reasonable. Went up the next day on Monday but still so much cheaper than the other less nice options I was looking at. We will be staying here again and again, anytime we travel...
Read moreLoved 🧡 the FREE PARKING. We stayed 4 summer nights. The room itself was good. Hard king bed, 5 pillows, 2 blankets, excellent A/C. Mini fridge (NO freezer), smaller microwave, pod coffee maker, hid-a-bed, ikea type tiny desk, and tiny side shelves, coffee table, and TV ALL in a studio size room. Hearing the freeway all day and night, for me was not good ( super easy freeway access ). Also the elevator was disturbing. They also have a "smart" fan in the bathroom which I found creepy-like-a-peeping-Tom, it had a sensor and "knew" to turn itself on and off. I am older, and I am not a fan of that fan. The hot water was NOT always hot. I really liked night security out on the frontage road to the hotels. Breakfast was pretty good. Good variaty. Pancakes, instant oat meal, diet yogurt, ( Breakfast meat: sasuge patty, bacon, or sausage links varied day by day), strange scrambled eggs, gravy, biscuits, high fiber muffins, bagles (no cream cheese or toaster), juice, coffee, water, jam, suryp, butter, and peanut butter, sugar, sugar substitute, creamer. Staff seemed nice. Cleaning staff were exceptionally sweet. The indoor pool was about 70° which I do NOT consider heated. The pool was clean and clear. Plenty of extra towels, and several yard chairs for relaxing. They also have a home gym style gym, coin operated laundry ares, and a little shopett for chips, soda, pain reliever, ...
