I booked a room at this hotel through a 3rd party site, and it was only $65 a night, and I paid an extra $6 a night for free continental breakfast. We weren't expecting much, but we were only going to be there from Wed Aug 7th-Fri Aug 9th, and we were excited for the huge indoor pool for the two 9 year old girls we had. Also, we chose the room with 2 queen beds and sleeps 5 people, so naturally we assumed it had a couch. We arrived Wed around 5pm only to find out that the pool was closed "for maintenance", although it was very clean and you could see that the pump was running! Then the room only had the 2 beds, so I told them it was supposed to sleep 5 people. The younger man was very rude, and kept saying that the description says 2 queen beds, and I said it was supposed to sleep 5 people so we assumed it had a couch. He just kept saying...show me where it says it has a couch...and I showed him it says sleeps 5...but he just kept repeating...show me! After the older couple yelled at him in their language, he approached me and said...we started off on the wrong foot, I was aggravated and so were you, and I want to apologize for being rude! We are going to bring you a roll away bed to accommodate you. The "bedspreads" on both beds were covered in cigarette burn holes, there was only 2 bath towels for 5 people...and the room wasn't cleaned while we were out, so it towels weren't restocked...and there was no hair dryer like stated in the "amenities", but the room was clean. The vending machine was out of diet pop and bottled water, but they sold us their water for $1 a bottle. The door to our room also didn't latch shut when you closed it, although it looked closed right, all you had to do was push it open! The continental breakfast consisted of cereal, bread and apples, but they did make the waffle batter for us since we asked for it! We thought it was until 10am, but I took the girls for cereal Fri at 9:30 but it was over at 9! I asked the older woman if they could have cereal and she said absolutely, and gave them each an apple! The pictures of the room was very accurate, but the pictures of the lobby are obviously what they wished it looked like, because it looked nothing like that! And the owners live in the hotel...the older couple and the younger couple and their baby who is less than a year old...and they spend all of their time in the lobby or out front at the entrance! All in all though, we didn't expect much for the price and it served its purpose...someplace to sleep for 2 nights and shower...and the beds and pillows were very comfortable, the a/c was very cold, the mini fridge worked and so did the tv with cable! We would stay there again because it sure beats paying $150-$300 a night for everything else...
Read moreIf you are looking for decent motel, pass this place by with a quickness. If you’re looking for a shady “no tell” motel, this place is better suited for that. I stayed once and will never again. The County Squire down the street was better. The hotel doesn’t care what’s happening around their hotel or for their guests safety. It’s dark, dingy and reminded me of a place where people go to do illicit activities. I didn’t see any, but wouldn’t be surprised if was happening. There were trace smells of wet dog, mold, cigarettes, and urine in different places. I would not let children stay there. If you do make the same mistake I did and stay here, check your credit card. You might charged multiple times multiple times for the same horrible stay. Don’t expect the hotel to do anything about it, they legitimately don’t care and will blame it on your credit card company and everyone else; never their own failure. As I found out, Wyndham (Super 8’s parent company) charged my card when I made the reservation and the location changed it again when I checked out. I was able to get my money back, there is not fix for this problem, so check your statements. They are just there to take your money; that’s all they are concerned with. Do yourself a favor; run away from this place (and any other Wyndham affiliated hotel) and stay somewhere else. This place and Wyndham as a whole, is a train wreck. The only positive I can come up with is the...
Read moreWish I could give 0 stars. I booked a suite for my family to have a little get together for Christmas because we live far from each other. Also my mother's health is shaky, so we wanted to meet close to her hometown. Needless to say, this was a very important day for our family. Our kids were very excited to see their grandma (who again is sick) and great grandma. I get there and the suite I booked in advanced is not available. The very rude receptionist tells me I can pay more for a bigger suite. I stated that is not right because I already booked the suite and that price should be honored. His only response was the suite was not available. I then pay for the bigger suite. Upon arriving to the room, the suite is a complete disaster. When telling the receptionist, he states there is nothing he can do because house cleaning was supposed to clean it. This is when my ailing mother and grandma arrive...to no room. I finally tell him we have to figure something out because a smaller room will not work for our family. I then state I'll go clean the room, to which he finally finds a suite!! He was very rude, there was never an apology, he didn't care about my mother or my kids, nieces and grandmother waiting around. The worst experience ever. He literally ruined the day. My sister and I turned it around for our family, but this guy and his rude attitude and just lack of empathy was uncalled for and very disappointing and...
