This casino has easy access to 43 power/water sites with a dump station on site. RV parking is next to the interstate. When we arrived and went into Security to check in for 3 nights, they said we could only stay for 1 because the baseball finals were going to start. I looked down, and the paper he was reading said walk-ins were able to stay 1 or 2 nights. When I questioned it, he said he was told 1 because they were going to be full. It was fairly cool that evening, so we decided to Boondock in the north lot. The far North lot had about 20 Semi's idling, which is where they said we could park. We were able to park in the adjacent lot, which was much quieter. Upon setting up, we went inside for a sandwich and drink as we would like to support the places we stay. One sandwich and drink was 34.00, and we will just say you don't get what you pay for. Day 2 was much warmer (85) a little warm to Boondock, but we managed. As we walked around the casino, there were 4 RVs parked in the 43 spaces available. Little agitated, to say the least! Day 3 hit 92 outside with humidity rising as rain is forecasted in a few days. At this point, we wouldn't pay for a spot even if they had one open, none the less, at dusk we walked around the casino again just to see availability now. Out of 46 spots, 36 of them were available. I'm pretty sure they didn't get the rush they thought they might catering to what could have been a full couple of weeks instead of taking care of the people who were there to stay short-term. 🤔 An overall loss of at least $300 if not more as we never went back in. Also, I just was reading other reviews. If someone left a good one, Horshoe responds with gratitude, The ones that weren’t so great weren’t even acknowledged.

Not happy with Ceasars! I have been a diamond player and have not once heard from my host. I have left 3 messages in regards to me benefits and still never got contacted by him. I get better luck reaching out to my host in Kansas City which is out of state as well. My Kansas City host has helped me out and even gave me comped room and food credit during my 5 day stay in KC for my birthday. Council Bluffs hosts are a big joke and good luck getting in contact with one. I have returned back to playing at Penn rather than Ceasars here locally. Just horrible to reach a diamond tier and not be able to use any perks due to the host not returning calls. Ceasars just lost a player that spends lots (loses) of money and no respect for even a reach out from my host. Atleast Penn hosts contact me back and I receive more perks and free play from them then I ever have from Ceasars. Update: I left this review and my host emailed me. I responded and once again it has been a week with no answer back from him. Maybe Ceasars needs to find a new host in Council Bluffs as he does not ever return his players calls or emails. What a waste of money and time at Ceasars (Horseshoe Council Bluffs) Penn gaming hosts will treat everyone much better than Ceasars hosts.

So we stayed in their rv sites because we were passing through and thought I’d be fun to have a buffet and gamble on our big trip. Well the rv part couldn’t be anymore vague. When you get to the rv parking there’s the shower house with a sign that’s pointing to the left for registration. Come to find out the registration is located in the building pictured with the smallest sign possible saying “RV Registration”. So we go in and the security checks you in, and my god is it a process! The guy that was doing it might as well have been doing a criminal investigation because it was like 30 minutes per person checking in. Then came the buffet, it was definitely not good, but not the worst. Everything tasted like it was from boxes or prepackaged, but to charge $21 per person was a little much. But hey everything in Council Bluffs stays in Council Bluffs?

UPDATE

JB's is using big boxes for the cheesecake!

Went to dinner at the steakhouse at Horseshoe. That is always a nice dining experience. We heard the café was back due to so many complaints. The menu wasn't the same, so I was sad about the hot turkey sandwich not making a comeback. But I was pleasantly surprised the dessert case was full of old favorites! We weren't "allowed" to order one to dine in, as it was explained that all desserts are "to go" only. The cashier was very nice and accommodating. When he was putting our cheesecakes in boxes, a supervisor went up to him saying "no, no, no, no!" He was doing nothing wrong. She told him that he needed to put the cheesecakes in the smaller "take out" box, which were too small. Since the boxes wouldn't close, she told him to use saran wrap to try to secure the boxes with the cheesecake laying on it's side. This was ridiculous and the poor cashier looked so embarrassed. If i need to pay an extra quarter for a box that will actually hold the food I am purchasing, I will. It's been 8 months since we were here last. I will be back soon, thanks to the café reopening. I will bring my own Tupperware that the food will actually fit in, instead of scraping cherries off the side of the little box and saran wrap. Bad move!

Liked playing and eating at Horseshoe until recently. JB's is closed, "moved" to Whiskey Roadhouse. Totally different menu. Not even close to the desserts they used to have. Earning/spending points has changed. The machines are tighter. Non smoking slots are moved. Every time I spoke to the lady at the WH she either totally ignored me, my wife and my friend or just gave a "don't care" look. Yesterday was my birthday. I wanted the hot turkey meal. It's not on the menu anymore. Ok. There was 3 desserts on the menu. We ordered the cheesecake for $11. We received a piece of dry chocolate cake. And was charged $2 more. So disappointed. I suggest you skip Horseshoe and drive down the street to Ameristar. You will meet friendly employees, fun machines and much better food for a...

Let me first say the casino isn't that bad. Kind of small and the usual games / slots Drinks are not free even if you gamble but certain beers are $1 on weekends Staff is friendly

Now for what was a very bad experience

We drive a truck across country and we visit many many casinos in many states We have stopped here a few times before and the visit was average except the buffet. It was terrible so we knew not to eat there again

Well last night we called for the shuttle to talks us back to our truck at the truck stop. Security said 3-5 minutes. We wait 15 minutes. Call security again. They say the shuttle driver said 3-5 minutes we told them we have already waited 15 minute So we wait another 20 minutes for a total of 35 minutes watch the shuttle that goes to the hotel come back four times !!! Finally the shuttle driver for the truck stop shows up We get in and I say. Wow that was a long 3-5 minutes at which time he proceeds to start yelling at me and curing me out saying I was a liar and I didn't wait no 35 minutes. My husband told him there was no need to speak to us that way but he continued to yell and curse

Wow Horseshoe you much be really proud to have shuttle driver talk to your customers that way

We alway end up spending between $500 and $1000 each visit but we will NEVER EVER stop at this casino again or any in this town for that matter

Our money is green it spends everywhere and I know for a fact there are much better casinos who appreciate our business

The way your shuttle driver behaved shows us how little respect for truck drivers you have. So we will be letting all our driver friends know how we were treated and tell them to keep far far away from this place !!!

You...
