JB Cafe — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

Went there today, and I ordered chicken tenders. Imgine my surprise when my boyfriend's Philly cheese steak sandwich came with fries, but my tendies didn't. They barely even have a menu, and the things on the menu don't even come with sides? Sure ..ok, not where I'm gonna be going anymore. Not to mention, they changed all the rules and you're not even allowed to use dining credits to go. On a completely different note, they have a smoking section, which is divided by a metal bar, that you can reach over and touch your neighbor sitting in the non smoking section. Tried to go there last week. I had traveled an hour for an early appointment and planned to go for breakfast afterwards. My phone app said this place was open 24 hours and offered dine in or take out. I had dined there many times before the pandemic and it was always great for breakfast!! So, I was looking forward to the same awesome experience. Went inside the casino and walked all the way to the rear only to find the place all boarded up with black panels and black curtains! If your cafe is closed, at least put up a sign outside or somewhere to let people know! What a waste of time! What a joke this place...

Sometime the year after my first visit, they reopened this place. Thanks for addressing the concerns from last time! Great casual experience. Turkey club and tots were crisp, tasty, and filling. Clean, brightly lit seating with views of the poker room and TVs. Well stocked condiments and utensils. Glad I don’t have to drive around the city scrambling to find something clean and casual to eat. Good use of any RC you’ve earned...
