I shouldn't have to but, I will preface with, this was our experience only. We're definitely not your typical "visual" normality. With that said, this is also an issue that shouldn't be one. I made a reservation online. We arrived early. 20 minutes actually but we were fine waiting. When my wife an I walked in the door we were immediately met with foul expression, but quickly addressed with the typical cordials. I am heavily tattooed with neon hair but was dressed according to the sites suggestion. My wife is also heavily tattooed. Also dressed accordingly. I only address this as it absolutely had an effect of how we were treated. We were sat at a table and told another set of silverware would be brought. There were 3 tables around us with guests. When the hostess returned she said she was going to move us somewhere quieter. This was literally the same booth, just the other side of the 3 tables. We were now out of their view. 12 minutes we sat unattended. No water, no "I'll be with you". Nothing. Another couple was sat in the booth we were and served immediately. Another waiter with tables ACROSS the restaurant finally came to address us. He was fantastic. So kind, helpful with the menu, absolutely the best and I'm bummed I didn't catch his name. Absolutely fantastic spinach dip, French onion soup was tops. Drink selections, all great. Despite we had plenty of money. Despite being dressed to code. Despite being polite and properly educated in etiquette; we were treated like an eye sore. Like WE intruded on the hostess and other guests. Like we were ruining others meal. For a night we should have enjoyed, without our awesome waiter popping up when he did, we probably would have left. Most likely won't return and it's unfortunate. If you don't "look" the part you will be getting...
Read moreSunday evening my friend and I decided to try this restaurant as it had rave reviews. We went inside and although there was a sign advising reservations required we were able to be seated as they were not busy. My friend Diondra ordered the New York Strip and I ordered the Ribeye. We also ordered garlic mashed potatoes and braised mushrooms for our sides. The steaks came out and although they looked good they lacked flavor, no seasoning whatsoever not even salt and pepper. The garlic mashed potatoes were more of a soupy consistency and tasted like cream, again no seasoning, not a hint of garlic at all. The best tasting item that we ordered were the mushrooms and honestly they weren’t anything to brag about. The steaks were ordered medium plus and were served medium rare to medium at best. The waiter, although nice, was inattentive as he never stopped by to ask if we needed refills but did spend a lot of time conversing with other patrons. We did receive a discount as my friend voiced her displeasure with the meal. Even with the discount the bill was right at $100 and I still tipped the waiter well as I understand how salary is for those working in this industry. I was disappointed with the food as I have had better tasting food from chain steakhouses. It was an experience that I will remember and sad to say, I will not be returning to dine again. For those who like unseasoned food this restaurant should be a great fit for you, as for me I will not...
Read moreYesterday I went to the restaurant with a friend and there was a sign saying reservations were required, but no the restaurant wasn’t busy! We we’re gonna call at the hostess stand but she seated us. I ordered the New York strip, medium plus and my friend, Michelle, ordered the Ribeye, medium plus. We also ordered garlic mashed potatoes and braised mushrooms. When we got our food, the steaks were not seasoned although we were told they were wet aged and not dry aged, the potatoes didn’t have a bit of salt or garlic in them and were almost too loose with cream. The mushrooms were he best thing of the $130 plus meal! The waiter, asked if we were happy with everything. We told him not really but didn’t try to correct anything. He was nonchalant regarding our complaint. Until I complained about things further did he get the manager to discount one of the steaks and the potatoes. He received a nice tip regardless but we were VERY DISAPPOINTED in the meal and staff! Side note... I took the food home SEASONED and broiled the steak (still tender), Added horseradish, salt and white pepper to the potatoes. Broiled, salted and added a splash of balsamic vinegar to the mushroom. A drizzle of A-1 on the beef and voila, a tasty...
