My wife is pickier than me about aesthetics. For the most part-see below-she thought it was nice. The location is perfect. It is off GA-20, it is within walking distance of a gas station, a Walmart, and various restaurants. The fresh grinding coffee maker in the lobby is a nice touch. Charles' and the person directly after his shift customer service was excellent. My wife is also pickier about food, but she [and our kids] enjoyed the breakfast buffet.
We arrived around 3 in the morning. Our checkin was delayed because we were advised that since we weren't there for 3pm checkin, we were kicked out of the system. Charles quickly rectified the situation and got us into a room. I never received an email or a simple courtesy call when we weren't there at 3 pm. This could have easily been avoided.
Next, around 5 in the morning, my wife awoke me. She killed a baby roach that she saw on her cup near our bed. She awoke me because there was an adult roach on the wall by the tv, ducking in and out from between a hanging picture. I went downstairs, explained the situation to Charles, and showed him a pic of the adult roach I smashed. He assured me he had never heard of them having the issue in 17 years working there and that the GM would be able to adjust our bill for any inconvenience.
The next day, we were set to move rooms. Someone knocked on our door in the morning to spray the room. People do not want a room sprayed while they are in the room! We couldn't change rooms until 3. Here, I understand there are check-in times, cleaning, and other things that have to be done to prepare a room. The front desk person was pleasant and tried to be sympathetic. Subjectively, there didn't seem to be a sense of urgency or employee empowerment to make decisions. For our final night, we were switched from room 219 to 221. That wasn't assuring, but we didn't see anything else disturbing.
The fitness center is lackluster. There is limited, and what looks like, well used cardio equipment. There is one bench and dumbbells that aren’t challenging if you have any gym experience.
The 2nd floor hallway was dim, not a huge issue other than aesthetics. It was easy to hear things coming from rooms while walking the hallway.
After five days, we haven't gotten a phone call, text, or email with even a generic apology, let a alone any refunded portion regarding the bug issue. Lastly, I have left many Google reviews on hotels...
Read moreThe staff at this facility went above and beyond at every possible opportunity to make our stay extra special!
We were celebrating my mom and her twin sister's birthday with family coming from several states (Texas, Alabama, and Kentucky). My mom is in fragile health so we wanted to get as many of us together as safely possible.
We booked 7 rooms with varying room sizes and lengths of stay (4 nights, 3 nights, 2 nights and 1 night). Even though I booked all of the rooms online, the staff put all of us right next to each other or across the hall from each other. We also reserved the meeting room for the party and for our family to have a space to hang out together rather than having to crowd the lobby.
I went to the hotel three times in total before the event to ask several questions about our stay and reserving the meeting room. Each time I visited, the staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. On one visit, they voluntarily changed the handicapped room that I reserved for my mom to a suite so that she would be on the bottom floor close to the meeting room and so there would more room for her wheelchair and oxygen tanks. On a separate visit when I was inquiring about the set up for the meeting room, the maintenance man saw me outside and asked if I was the one inquiring about the meeting room. I said that I was and he asked how I wanted the tables and chairs arranged for our party. I told him not to worry about it, that I would arrange the tables and he said, "Well I want to make sure that you are happy." During our stay and use of the meeting room, everyone was helpful and happy to help us with anything we needed. The trash was emptied each day and the staff asked multiple times if we needed anything.
The meeting room was the absolute perfect spot! There is a huge screen that you pull down and can connect your computer. We listened to music, watched a slideshow, streamed TV shows, etc.
I just can't say enough about how perfect our weekend was and this facility and their staff was a HUGE part of that! We made wonderful memories that are sure to last a lifetime! We will most definitely keep this hotel in mind for any future events or...
Read moreWe recently stayed here for a one night girl's trip. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.||||PROS:||Location - right off 400, close to lots of stores and restaurants, 15 mi to N Ga Outlets, Starbucks, food, gas all very close||Parking - plenty of spaces, self parking, no charge the park||The hotel did not seem crowded, which was nice. No lines/waiting/hassle||Heated indoor pool - our girls used this and enjoyed it||Friendly Staff - they were cheerful and check in/check out was easy & painless||They accommodated early check in request (1 hr), high floor and same floor rooms||Room - comfortable beds, clean and spacious (esp the suite)||Clever touches ("firm" and "soft" stitched into the pillow cases, plenty of hooks, built in bench for luggage, desk with lots of charging ports)||Mini fridge in room that wasn't crammed with items for sale (they should consider adding a few gratis liquid creamers for the coffee - powdered creamer is blech!)||It was quiet at night in spite of being near the hwy and in a busy commercial area||Hot breakfast was included with our rate||||CONS:||This is not a luxury hotel - no valet, room service, spa, etc. but you don't PAY for that||Some areas of our room showed its age - chipped paint, cabinetry a little worn||In room coffee was terrible (but that's true for most hotel chains at this price point)||Hot breakfast was just ok, nothing amazing but there were plenty of choices||Front desk staff was thin - once when we called, no one answered; another time they were in the back and we had to call out to them to have them come talk to us||Security - anyone could walk in the front; elevators did not require key to access upper floors; exterior doors on the sides did require key access (thank goodness!)||||Overall, it was a solid choice for what we were doing. I would recommend it for those who are looking for a clean, comfortable stay without...
