We stayed in this hotel for quite a bit of time in the 2nd half of 2024. ||Environment: The hotel is at a very convenient location in Silicon Valley, arguably among the best places in town balanced for business, family and leisure. You can easily drive to some of the major companies through i280 from around the corner, take buses (a few stops nearby), or use hotel's complimentary 5-mile Lyft. Cupertino Main Street block is within walking distance, a popular hangout place especially for young people. A few bustling plazas are nearby full of Asian restaurants and grocery stores. It is also very safe nearby. While it is near i280 and a busy street (Wolfe), you don't hear much street noise once inside the hotel.||Hotel facility: Overall very clean everywhere, though hallway carpet shows some wearing spots, or I am not sure if it is just because of the pattern color of the carpet. We stayed in a high floor corner suite. Floor to ceiling windows around the corner offers a nice view of the town and remote mountains in the backdrop. It brings adequate California sunlight into the room, flexible with double-curtain adjustment. Beds are consistently Hyatt high quality and comfortable. The kitchenette has everything we need for a simple living, including all needed kitchenware, cooktop, and a full size refrigerator. TVs are connected with Chromecast. Wifi is fairly reliable with reasonable speed for normal business use including smooth video conferencing. To live to Silicon Valley's high tech reputation, you can add this Hyatt House room digital key to your iPhone / Apple Watch Wallet and it works reliably as it supposed to be.||Gym is small but adequate to workout the stress. It has a decent outdoor swimming pool especially for little kids. We didn't use it.||Sometimes we could hear next room talking. Not a big problem to us, we know we just have to lower our voice too. If there is a constantly barking dog next room you would need find a way to deal with that situation.||Breakfast: Pretty good. We feel they are healthy, mostly fresh (occasionally some peeled fruit cubes could be better), with adequate variety by the standard of this category hotel. Omelet station is one of the best. We like their juice and coffee too.||Service: We got acquainted with almost every front desk staff, dinning room staff, and many other people working in this property. This is the best part of the hotel. Literally every front desk staff we met were very friendly to us. It was not just about professionally trained hospitality, but a sincere warmth we can feel. Jung always has a friendly smile and tries his best to resolve our need as quickly as possible. Alyix is punctual in processing long billing numbers fast and right, and messaged us back immediately when we needed a Lyft. Edouard walked extra miles to provide us flexibility and maximized our booking experience. Having a midnight chat with Mital brushes away a day of tiredness. Bhuwan offered invitation to stay in his house if we ever travel by his hometown. Their faces still show up in our mind even after we have left for a month.||Will we come back? Certainly, when in the future we need to stay in a hotel in Silicon Valley. This is our top choice in town.||Improvement: High chair in the room and orange chairs near first floor business printer station isn't very comfortable. The orange chairs height vs table height feels a...
Read moreMy wife and I (we live between San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria) made plans to visit some friends in our old stomping ground of San Jose during October 2024. Since we had a good experience with the Hyatt House in May 2023, we returned for another stay.||Pros:|- Location: Convenient. It’s near the intersection of Interstate 280 and Wolfe Road behind what remains of the Vallco Shopping Center in Cupertino. That’s a great starting point for driving north toward San Francisco or just around San Jose and nearby towns.||- Exterior/Interior: Contemporary and Clean. The Hyatt House is only a few years old and still has that shiny vibe…like a new car smell - and the large lobby/breakfast/bar area felt as fresh as it did in May 2023.||- Our Room (#132): Fine, but showing wear. We had a studio with a kingsize bed and kitchenette (which is in all rooms). We were on the first floor facing 280, but hardly heard a sound. Water pressure in the bathroom was very good. Toiletries and kitchen supplies were more than enough. However, we did notice a downturn (see below).||- Breakfast: Buffet style with high quality items, although the selection did not seem as large as in May 2023. There was no yogurt…no pastries (except for bread)…and 2 types of juice (apple and orange) compared to the 3 types I seem to remember. But high marks for the hot oatmeal - hot, tasty and not runny - and staff who kept things very clean and restocked.||- Staff: Everyone we met was friendly and helpful.||- Housekeeping: Hard to say. We only stayed 2 nights and rooms are not cleaned nor towels replaced nor baskets emptied unless you stay 3 nights.||- Parking: Plentiful. There are lots of spaces around the perimeter of the hotel and a fair number of beneath it which come especially handy during hot weather.||- EV Charging Stations: Excellent. There are 20 chargers in the underground parking area - 10 for Tesla and 10 for everyone else. The latter certainly helped with our Honda, although it took 8 hours to get a 60% charge. As a reception person noted “they’re meant for overnight charging”. ||- Price and Value: Reasonable. The Hilton House wasn’t cheap, but you don’t expect it to be in the high rent district of Silicon Valley||Cons:|- Our Room: Quite a bit of wear and tear during the past 16 months. Lots of nicks and scratches made the room seem a bit older than it is. There were enough outlets to charge our electronics, but many were near the floor under each of 2 TVs.||- Interior: While mainly fine, we noticed more dirt and clutter in the hallway of our floor. Maybe they cut back on housekeeping?||Despite a couple of reservations, the Hyatt House remains a really good bet for a visit to the area around San Jose....
Read moreThis was the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve stayed all over the world. I specifically read the reviews all over, not just Google, and knew to ask for a room NOT facing the highway but it didn’t matter because they put me in the noisiest room facing the highway despite the high price and they had other rooms available. Poor customer service. One night they even put a screaming baby in the connecting room who cried literally all night. I felt badly for the baby who sounded sick.
The highway noise was ridiculously loud, even with a White Noise App. I literally didn’t sleep at all and had a horrible stay because of the noise.
I also asked for a room by the stairwell and they didn’t honor that request either. Same with requesting a top floor. Nope, they seemed to have put everyone on the third floor. The doors are constantly slamming and kids were running up and down the hallway screaming daily. Noise is a huge issue here. There are things that can be done to minimize the noise but they don’t seem to care about guests’ complaints. Disappointing for a Hyatt brand.
To make matters worse, the Internet went out 1-3x/day and when I called the front desk they were blasé about the fact it happens all the time. This is in a business area where guests rely on using the Internet. This needs to be fixed.
The shower door isn’t sealed properly and badly leaks. Simple fix from the company who made the doors will do with silicone linings, but the manager would rather blame a poor design rather than fix the problem.
The HVAC system needs attention as well. A technician just needs to go to all the rooms one-by-one and fix things. The ac would suddenly turn to heat if one turned the temperature above 69.
There are no to-go options for guests to take breakfast to their room. Breakfast is decent with eggs, miso soup, fruit, rice, tofu, and an omelette station.
Housekeeping does a good job but they’re not friendly at all and glare at guests which is off putting. I said, “Hi!” many times only to be met with rude stares.
Positives: there is free secure abundant garage parking which is a huge plus, and a gym with cables, dumbbells, treadmills and ellipticals. There is also a pool and...
