Nineteen800 Apartments — Local services in Cupertino

I initially chose this place based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews, but unfortunately, moving in turned out to be one of my worst decisions this year. I wish I had seen the other side of the story, so I’m sharing my experience here.

The touring process was pleasant, the amenities were great, and the apartment had been recently renovated—everything seemed promising at first. However, the experience quickly took a turn due to unbearable noise from the upstairs unit, which persisted day and night. The floors are extremely thin, to the point where loud bangs would wake me up daily at 2 AM. I could clearly hear footsteps from the bed to the bathroom, the toilet flushing, and then footsteps back, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep.

I reported this issue to the management team, as it is their legal obligation to ensure quiet enjoyment for tenants. Unfortunately, their response was inadequate—they only made a few calls to the upstairs neighbor, which had little to no effect. Instead of taking responsibility, they shifted the burden onto me, trying to frame the issue as a dispute between me and the neighbor rather than an issue with the building and their management. They even suggested that I personally confront the neighbor, which I was not comfortable doing.

The issue persisted for weeks, and despite multiple emails regarding the noise complaint, Robert, the property manager, never responded. However, as soon as we decided to break the lease and pay the penalty, he responded immediately to facilitate the payment process—a stark contrast to the silence when we were seeking help with the living conditions.

For tenants like us, who cannot afford a prolonged battle over basic living conditions, the only option was to break the lease. They never offered to let us move to another unit or leave without penalty. Instead, we were forced to pay an extremely high penalty just to escape an unlivable situation.

Think twice before choosing this place as your home. My experience showed that management does not take tenant concerns seriously, and the noise issues make for an unlivable...

I really enjoyed the life my family lived at Nineteen800 and it all started with my first phone interaction. The building is wonderful and has such a diverse group of residents. Singles, families, young and old, not to mention cute dogs. Before Covid 19 I felt like the apartment complex was full of life. Children enjoying their afternoons playing in the safety of the courtyard and people exercising and just enjoying a little time outside. I spent many nights looking at the stars from the courtyard and my balcony and it felt peaceful. There are minor things that can be overlooked like hearing the neighbors from upstairs running across the floor, because the quality of life for my family was worth the sporadic noise.

The location is great and walking distance to a diverse range of restaurants and grocery stores. Feeds into nice schools. When not during times of pandemic, good community events that are beautiful and excellently planned. During the pandemic she planned some really fun classes for all of the residents to express themselves artistically (painting, sculpting, origami) and also physically (Online gym membership). The maintenance staff and house keeping are quick, courteous and are nice people. The office staff is always helpful. The security staff helped my children feel safe and you will see them frequently. Luxor was kind of bad but that wasn't the buildings fault. It depended on the delivery service and I could forgive that seeing the drastic influx of online deliveries over the last few months.

From the moment I moved in, the leasing office team, led by Robert and Irina, has been absolutely excellent—always friendly, professional, and ready to assist with any questions or concerns. Their commitment to making the leasing and living experience smooth has been truly appreciated.

The maintenance team, led by Alvin, is equally outstanding. Every request I’ve had has been handled quickly and efficiently, and they always go above and beyond to ensure everything is in top shape. Their professionalism and responsiveness make a huge difference in creating a hassle-free living environment.

The community is well-maintained, the amenities are great, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming. If you’re looking for a place where both the leasing and maintenance teams truly care about their residents, this is it!...
