Great location to take a break with the kids or friends. Nice and quiet environment. There's lots of shade and a clean restroom as well. There are picnic tables close to the playground as well as away. I've seen small parties for kids. Parking can be a little hard to come by next to the park, but you should be about to find it in the neighborhood, just a little bit of walking win be needed. There are 2 play area one for older kids and another for smaller kids. My 2 and 7 year old enjoy playing in the area. There's also a small trees that kids climb and hide in. There are routes that kids with bikes or scooters can ride through.

An open field is available to setup whatever big place game/toy you want to play with. I've seen volleyball, badminton. I recently got a slingshot arrow for the kids and that has been fun in the open space, we have plenty of room to slingshot the whistle arrows. My brother in law and I have thrown a football around. Plenty of space.

It's also close to Marukai and other restaurants, so it's easy enough to have afternoon playtime here and then go to...

You can find me here at least once a week enjoying the great outdoors. Finding parking usually isn't a problem unless there is a big event. Be mindful of the parking restrictions outside the park. During museum hours, you can use the bathrooms there which is nice. I love dogs but it's a bit annoying how some owners just let their dogs run freely and over everyone's business. It's pretty simple keeping one's dog on a leash and I think they will still enjoy their day at the park. So if you don't like dogs perhaps picnic elsewhere. This is a great place to watch the sunset. Check out the barnsdale site for upcoming events like wine tastings. I wish they would bring...

Fantastic park but with limited parking available for how big it is. Plan on either getting a spot on the road and walking a little. Optionally, you can park at the preschool next to it as long as it's not during school hours.

Has a slide/playground area, big grassy field, and decent restrooms not too far away. Also includes a great shady area with a HUGE BBQ pit (the type with a chain to move the grate up and down). However, for busy days make sure you reserve those ahead of time as that area will fill...

The Star Kids After School Academy , is one of Cupertino's most advanced robotics schools we have ever seen. They have their robotics programming classes at Portal Park. Captian Jesse Dawson the senior programming robotics teacher is the best. After my son took his course he put this on his college application to Stanford University and got accepted into thier engineering program. I heard another student got a job at Apple as a jr software engineer because he took Captain Jesse course at this academy.

This is our first time at this park and we love it! There are 3 different play structures for different ages, which I love. Sometimes older kids can get rowdy and my son tends to get pushed over so it's nice to have a separate park for ages 2-5. Theres a big grass area and picnic tables which is great also. Not much street parking, but for being here on a Sunday, there were still plenty of spots. There are 2 sets of big kid swings and 1 set of baby/toddler swings. We will definitely be back!

Great neighborhood park. Nice big sandbox, play structures and picnic area with BBQ pit. Bathrooms are clean! Lots of mature trees and a big grass area to play. The only downside is the parking as there is no parking lot. You have to look around and park along the street.
