I stayed at this property April 2-6. The largest complaint I have is the lack of cleanliness and order at the property. I called ahead to make sure my room was checked and cleaned. However, I wanted the top floor as my Marriott profile says a high floor, so I had to wait for the staff to clean the new room. I was originally told it would take 20 minutes however after a total of 40 or 45 minutes no one came to get me from the M Lounge. When I asked the Front Desk, I was given the room key and once I made it to the room the door was opened. No one was in the room and I could smell cleaning solvents. I walk in and start to check the room. I found hair in the bed and on the nightstand. Pictures have been uploaded as well. I stripped the bed and replaced the all of the bedding myself. From the time I walked into the doors at the hotel and the time I was finally able to sit down was 3 hours. That is unacceptable.
Also, when I walked into the hotel no one greeted me while some of the Front Desk members talked to each other instead of acknowledging me. I also literally ran into a garbage can of water and a yellow "be careful" sign in the stairwell. I assumed the garbage can was there to catch water from a leak. Such a bad look especially for a Category 5 hotel in the Medical District. Picture also included with the other pictures of the hair. When I checked out on April 6th the garbage can was still in the stairwell even though I informed the Front Desk Manager. He stated he would inform the Supervisor of the Engineering Team and that was the last I heard about the matter.
The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the Front Desk Manager responded to my very detailed and descriptive email. He gave me a free night and enough points to replace another night for future use. As a result of his gesture I extended my stay and he gave me a discounted rate for the last night. He also met with me to discuss the issues I had experienced, he even took notes. So I respect him for discussing the situation with me and handling it so quickly. As I explained to him it is all about how you handle the situation. You have to care about your guests.
The staff needs to be coached, re-trained and maybe even replaced in some situations. The cleaning staff needs help as well. The cleanliness of a hotel can make or break a property. As that affects the health of the guests. Would I stay at this property again? It depends on what changes are put into place. Would I recommend this property to other people? Yes, but with discussion and disclaimers. The pro is the fact the room is renovated and a suite. The con is uncleanliness and lack of professionalism of some of the staff. Also, the location is right off of 35E (Stemmons Freeway) which is good and bad as it can get congested but it is also in the heart of Dallas. So you can get to restaurants, mall, shopping...
Read moreOur stay was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT..!! First of all, we (husband and I) started off running late for the shuttle to pick us up since our flight was delayed. I called the hotel and the front desk lady was quick to solve our pick up and said to take a taxi and the hotel will cover the drive with a receipt. During our ride, our taxi guy almost got in an accident. You can only imagine how our anxiety was elevated. Once we arrived, the front desk lady informed us about the amenities and the restaurant on the premises. Which I have to say, is a big decision maker for us whenever we choose a hotel. Is the dinning. After flying all day, the last thing we want to worry about is calling an UBER to drive us to dinner. We want to stay put in one place. Dinner was fantastic, the server China, went over the menu for us and gave us great recommendations on what to select because everything looked good on the menu. FYI: compliments to the chef. For starters, the chicken wings were perfection. They were not over cooked and the sauce was just right. Our ribeye steaks were succulent and complimented the sides that it came with. My husband of course ordered desert and let me tell you, we ate it all up. It was divine. Thank you chef and thank you to our server China for not rushing us out, we took our time as we watched the winter olympics on the television at the table. Food came out in a timely fashion without rushing our evening. The environment was nice, calm, and quiet. We were able to get a reset while dinning in. Our room, was out of this world. I loved the decor and the set up of that bedroom/living room. the bathroom was beautiful nice, modern, and sleek-looking. It was nice to be able to get a fulls night rest. Super quiet, never heard any noise from the hallway or neighbors. We were so exhausted, we slept about 10hrs before we had to wake up in the morning for our next flight home to New Jersey. Early Morning staff was fantastic, helped get a hold of coffee before we took off. We had to check out by 5am from the hotel. Which meant we were not able to have breakfast before we left. But that was ok, since we were able to get a cup a coffee. Its the little things that mean the most to us. The entire staff made our stay, even with a crazy taxi driver experience, delightful and refreshing. That it left a positive experience in our life that day... that time.. And once again, we are...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for two nights during our visit to Dallas. The reason that we chose this hotel was due to the location and reward night availability at Marriott Bonvoy program. ||We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel due to the large rooms, great location and the friendly service we received during our stay. The rooms are nicely decorated and up to date with a coffee / tea machine and a nice TV, offering a comfortable stay. However, the car park cost is a joke with 29$ a night even though the hotel has plenty of car park space and not a downtown hotel. Furthermore, there are weird practices like 7$ a bottle of water in the room if you don't get it from the reception during check in. These practices make you feel like there are traps in the room looking forward to charging you more, rather than feeling welcome.||Details on some specifics are as follows:||Welcome: We arrived at the hotel around 6 pm. The receptionist was quick and efficient to check us in and she did the check in with a smile on her face. We were in our room in no time.||Room: The room was a lot better than we expected with plenty of room ( with a separate living area and a bedroom and a bathroom connected with a walk-in wardrobe ) and cleanliness. We were very happy to be located at the backside of the hotel to avoid the noise from the highway next to the hotel too.||Service: We didn't have much interaction with the staff except the check in and check out but they were so friendly whenever we approached them. The wifi in the hotel was also excellent with no connectivity issues. ||Location: The hotel is super close to downtown and so centrally located between the Dallas airports and the downtown. Every place we wanted to see in Dallas was a short drive away. ||Overall: It was a great stay with large clean rooms. We would definitely want to visit this hotel again. However, we would expect that small things like in room drinking water and parking was not charged ridiculously. ||P.S. We were told that Marriott will send a hotel survey and they are happy to grant us 5000 Marriott points for filling the survey. After check-out, neither our final bill copy nor the survey is sent to...
