I have literally never asked for a refund on a room but this place was hands-down the nastiest, sketchiest motel I've ever been to. ||The warning sign was that the room key was a repurposed insurance discount card complete with information on how to sign up for discounts on prescriptions. ||We spent twenty minutes here before we decided that the room was so absolutely filthy that we couldn't spend the weekend here, and considering we were just looking for a place to sleep while we are otherwise out at a convention all weekend is saying something. The only reason we lasted so long was because I really hate asking for refunds and we thought we could try to make the best of it. ||Within a half hour I was sick to my stomach and had a pounding headache from how awful the smell was - the interior of the room was filthy, poorly lit, and reeked of smoke even though we asked for a non-smoking room. Part of the carpet was ripped up and re-patched. There was dust on surfaces and inside of drawers. Huge holes in the blankets from where someone had dropped a cigarette multiple times apparently, and someone else's hairs on the pillows so I guess the pillow cases weren't clean. Big white stains on the armchair in the room. The towels looked worn and dirty in the bathroom. Remote for the tv was sticky/greasy and had a spot that looked like someone had burned that too - as did the toilet seat in the bathroom. Literally zero amenities, no hair dryer, no closet, no wifi password was given. ||When we went to ask for our money back, we noticed there was a bullet hole in the window of the office that had been taped over with clear duct tape to keep the glass together, and the staff is behind a sliding window for their safety, which definitely did not make us any more inclined to stay. The area just didn't feel safe so we booked another room elsewhere and I'm so glad we did.||The staff argued with me over the refund and ended up charging a "cleaning fee" because I wasn't giving up without getting my money back. I would not wish this hotel on anyone, and I honestly don't know how they pass inspection or how they still get customers....
Read moreWe stayed at Inn of the Dove based on the high ratings this motel had received, and I guess my expectations were too high as a result. We asked for a non-smoking room, away from the street. The room was away from the street, but smelled of smoke, and later I noticed the dirty ash tray, so apparently non-smoking isn't an option. There are individual covered garages for each room; ours smelled of urine. After we returned from dinner, we discovered that all the lamps had either burned out or missing bulbs. When I asked for bulbs at the desk, the owner followed me to the room with two large bulbs. He discovered that smaller bulbs were needed, said he was out, and to ask tomorrow after 11 AM. I said that I wouldn't be there after 11 AM, whereupon he flicked on the ceiling light (an older large silver funnel-shaped bulb that blasted several hundred watts into the room), and loudly asked "Is there not enough light in here?" I replied that we wanted to lie in bed with the lamps on either side for light, not the bright ceiling light. He went into the next room and came back with two bulbs for the bedside lamps. The TV worked poorly; the remote was held together with electrical tape. The bed wasn't bad but the bedding smelled smoky. Couldn't wait to leave in...
Read moreWe stay at this place . They don't have a extra lock or latch comes with most standard motel or hotel. I guess so you can't lock the door on the inside. The sheets was dirty. The shower head don't work. This isn't the worst part. I and my other half got up in the morning he had to check on something. I stay behind and gone for 2 hours before check out. We'll an hour and 10 minutes before check out I hear a knock on door. I'm thinking it was my other half. It was Manger because he didn't wait until I got to.the door he opened it and shut it quick. I'm so glad I had clothes on. He didn't apologize. This may be why they don't have an inside lock so they can just walk in on you. We was told check out time was 11am it was 9:50am. That was so creepy. I called my other half about what happened he was not happy. Than at 10:50 am get another knock at the door. This time it was the housekeeper asking was we was staying. I was still on phone other half. We know what that was No! When my other half came he had words for the management. This why I will not stay here this is my first...
