I used to be a regular at the White Rhino in Bishop Arts before it closed and moved to this location. I also visited the Garland location before it closed, and my experiences across these two cafes have unfortunately been quite similar and disappointing.
When you first walk in, the interior design is striking. White Rhino has a unique atmosphere that blends rustic, modern, and hip elements in a way few coffee shops do. The vibe is warm and inviting, and itâs what initially made me a loyal customer.
Unfortunately, the drinks donât live up to the space. Ordering usually comes with a wait, so this is not the place to stop by if youâre in a rush. And when the drinks do arrive, theyâre consistently below average, honestly worse than what youâd get from a basic office latte machine. Paying $7â8 leaves me questioning my life choices.
The Bishop Arts location stood out because the quality was much higher. I truly hope this location and any current or future ones put more focus on quality control. White Rhino was once my go-to coffee shop, and I recommended it often. But after a year of repeated subpar experiences, I donât see myself returning.
Come here for the vibes,...
Read moreAs someone who loves supporting local coffee shops, I had high hopes for White Rhino â especially with its clean aesthetic and faith-based branding. Unfortunately, the experience doesnât live up to the image.
The coffee is consistently mediocre. For a place that markets itself as a premium cafe, the drinks are surprisingly bland and inconsistent. Thereâs little attention to quality or craft, and nothing really stands out beyond the Instagrammable cups.
The atmosphere inside feels more curated for photos than comfort or connection. It lacks warmth and feels more like a brand than a community.
But what really pushed me away is the leadership behind the brand. The CEOâs social media presence is tone-deaf and, honestly, embarrassing for a business that claims to be rooted in faith and values. Itâs all ego and marketing, with very little authenticity. Itâs disappointing to see such a disconnect between the message and the messenger.
White Rhino feels like a coffee shop trying to be a lifestyle brand â and failing at both....
Read moreI've had a few concerns about the shop but attributed it to being a new. First, why is it so cold? I've been here 3 times and it's always freezing. When it's warmer outside and it's cold outside already, you have a problem. Another time, a woman came in to see a manager for an appointment. She ended up leaving. About 20 minutes later, the manager walks in with her family. I get wanting to see family but you're a manager. Not professional. The straw that broke the camels back: I waited 20 minutes for a drink. I would understand if it was busy, but it wasn't.
I've been to other locations in Cedar Hill and the old one in Bishop Arts. No...
