We have stayed in 5 different units in the past 3 years. The Inn on Dauphin Island island is wonderful! We keep coming back any chance we get! The condos are well stocked with dishes, towels, and kitchen tools. The staff is very helpful!! I would suggest calling instead of booking online. The staff know the units very well and can help you find the perfect one for your situation. Every condo has a beach view and balcony. We did stay in one of the smaller units once, but love the extra room of the 2 bedroom units. We have 4 kids between the ages of 1 & 8 and they love vacations here! ||Reasons we keep coming back:||1. Laid back & quiet atmosphere||2. Close proximity to the beach||3. Clean, comfortable units||4. Never over crowded. We stayed the week before Memorial Day and through the weekend recently. It got busy on Saturday-Monday, but we were still able to have a spot on the beach away from everyone. The rest of the time it was quiet and easy to have your own space. ||5. You can leave your umbrella, chairs, & toys on the beach overnight. This is great w kids so you aren’t lugging ur stuff back and forth everyday.||6. 2 pools - our kids love to go back and forth between the beach and pools. ||||We like to rest (be lazy) and zone-out on our vacations. Schedules and tours and waiting in lines at costly activities are not our thing. If you are the type family that likes lots of stuff to do and enjoy being around lots of people, this is not it....check out gulf shores. ||We love to sit on the beach by ourselves and catch up on some light reading, while the kids run around and wear themselves out in the waves and sand.||||We like units one the 3rd and 4th floors so we don’t hear noise from the pool area when we sit on our balcony. ||||There are 3 condo buildings in this area - the holiday isle (right next to public beach), beach club (in the middle), and then the Inn. ||||In the evenings, WiFi ran a little slow, so be sure to download your movies during the day. ||||I would suggest lots of breakfasts at the lighthouse bakery (cheese danish and pigs in blanket 😋) and dinner (poboys) at Islanders on their deck. The happy octopus is the cutest little boutique (next to the gas...
Read moreWARNING! IF YOU PLAN ON USING UNIT 103 PLEASE READ! My family and I vacation here every year! This year, 3 weeks before our vacation we get a call saying the owners in unit 103 will need the unit due to maintenance! Mind you we booked this vacation during our last visit in June with all my other family! We were to arrive and leave at the same time! Because they waited 3 weeks before our vacation we had to choose another unit with different dates! It was a big inconvenience. We book the first floor for reasons. We had a choice of the 3rd floor or 1st floor. We took the first floor but had to cut our trip short and were not able to spend time with family like we intended. But, what really upset us was the owners were there the weekend we were supposed to vacation. BUT NOT DOING MAINTENANCE!! They were vacationing! Usually condo owners do updates during the winter time not prime time during the summer! Lying instead of being truthful to the people who planned their vacation a year in advance! **Mind you my family was on both sides of unit 103. I know things happen and the owners can use their condo at anytime. BUT BE CONSIDERATE! YOU CAN SEE WHEN FAMILIES BOOK! **HOWEVER, WE WERE TOLD THIS OWNER HAS 4...
Read moreUnit 404 was fantastic. Beautifully decorated & clean. The proclaimed “president of the HOA” was not. If you’re planning a stay here make sure you avoid the lady who hovers you & acts like she owns the place. I believe she leases unit 102 or 103 in front of the East pool. At 10:00am sharp (check out time) we were given a very aggressive knock at the door as we were wheeling our luggage out of the unit. We were met by an older lady that was very rude because we were still getting suitcases out of the unit at 10:02 & she was there to clean/kick us out. She had no cleaning supplies & there were no cleaning supplies in the unit for guests to use. We had to buy our own. I’m from Oklahoma & we were about as far south as we could get. Needless to say the southern hospitality did not exist at the Inn at...
