WOW! I will start by saying we rented a $4000 dollar house this spring and could not be more upset with what we received. This was my in-laws 22nd trip to the island and will never use Broadwalk again. Dirty, ran down, broken shower- water damage to show this was not the first time this shower has been an issue, raining indoors, cable included in the description- 4 channels on 3 TVs in a 5 bedroom home, ice machine did not work, towels and wash clothes were see through. We work hard to save for a vacation home and this was maybe fine for a $2000 home but nothing of the quality and standards that Dauphin Island Reality give for over $4000. I do have a video of it raining inside in many places during a storm. We have been on the island for hurricanes and never seen anything like it. I made the realty company aware of our concerns and they did come change the beds and bring new towels but should we have to ask? Stained and warn out should be an indication it is time to upgrade or change the rental price. I also emailed the Monday after we returned home and did not hear back until that Friday. My partner and I rented The Captains Quarter for the month of Feb. 2025. The people at Boardwalk are amazing and friendly, and quick to accommodate concerns and questions. However, the property itself gives new meaning to Shabby chic. There was so much trash around and under the house, it was embarrassing. I did as much as I could. Another week, and the fear of falling over broken sticks, dead palm fronds and broken abandoned wiring I filled the trash can with as much as it would hold. We were really disappointed in the cleanliness of the interior as well. One whole wall was floor to ceiling dust cobwebs. My family and I rented Bama Breeze beach house in August 2024. The property itself is perfectly located and the pool was excellent. The house, however, had much to be desired. The linens were old and scratchy and most of them did not fit the bed properly and kept coming off. There was hair on the pillows despite just being cleaned for new guests.
