The GM and staff are unprofessional. The hotel is not clean. The elevator is a death trap. We checked in to room 500 and there was a very foul smell. It took us some time to determine the smell was coming from one of the double beds in the room had been previously urinated in. The bed was dry to the touch but the smell of urine was very very strong. It took 8 hours and 3 inquiries into 2 different staff to get the bed replaced. In replacing the bed the hotel staff uncovered used floss picks that had been left behind by previous guests and didn’t bother cleaning them up. After the bed had been replaced my husband and son passed the female desk clerk on duty that evening and the gentleman who checked us in the night before who were smoking outside, talking about our room issue saying they thought my son had wet the bed or we were making the whole story up because their beds were all covered with plastic to protect them. When my husband and son returned to the room and told me this I went down to speak with the staff who were still sitting out front. I approached them in a calm manner telling them I needed to set the record straight. I told them my son was 18 and had not wet the bed. The bed was dry and a wet bed would take at least a day or more to dry. We had only just arrived at the hotel the night before so it was impossible. I told them their beds are not covered in plastic and not protected. I told them we were disappointed that it took us telling 2 different day staff 3 total times before they changed the bed. They informed me the front desk clerk that day was the General Manager, April Brown. I told them I was surprised to hear she was the GM and she had "poor service skills” as she had completely forgotten to take care of such a large guest issue and had to be reminded of it multiple times before it was handled. We were leaving at 6:30 the next morning so I asked if they could pass along to the GM that the elevator license was expired and that the elevator was not in working order. The elevator shook when it moved and the emergency call button was pushed into the service panel so it could not be pushed if it was ever needed. Also the water in the room took 15-20 minutes to get hot. They said they would surely pass this information on. I thanked them for their time and for listening. I NEVER expected what came next. A few hours later our room phone rang. It was April Brown, GM. She immediately started screaming at me on the phone telling me that she was very upset because her staff had called her to tell her that I had made a scene in the lobby in front of guests. This was completely false so I tried to speak and let her know she had been misinformed. I had complained to her staff but in no way was it a "scene" (I had spoken in a flat tone with them) and that it was NOT in the lobby (it happened outside) and NOT in front of guests (it was 2 employees and their friend). She would not let me speak and kept screaming at me. She said I had called her a "piss poor manager" (I had said her managerial skills were poor but I never used "piss poor"). She said her staff told her I notified Ms. Brown 3 times to change the bed and I had only told her twice so therefore I was a "big fat liar". I tried to tell her that she had been misinformed and that I had told her staff I had notified her 2 times and the housekeeper 1 time for a total of 3 times. Again she would not let get a word and kept screaming. She told me I should be glad she was not in a position to otherwise she would “drive back down there and kick my ass". I pleaded with her to stop yelling and threatening me or I was going to end the call. She was not listening and told me that if I stepped one foot into her lobby or spoke one word to any of her staff that she was going to have the police called and have us forcibly removed from the property. She then hung up. We sped up our departure time to get away from the hotel and will...

🌟 Beach Side Bonanza: A Non-Review from a Non-Guest! 🌟

Hello fellow travelers! Jay here – your friendly neighborhood hotel reviewer who has checks notes NEVER ACTUALLY STAYED at Beach Side Hotel! That's right, I'm reviewing based purely on vibes and other people's complaints, and let me tell you, it's LIBERATING! 😂

Why I'm Giving 5 Stars to a Place I've Never Visited

Look, finding a hotel owner who responds to EVERY review with the enthusiasm of a golden retriever seeing its human after 5 minutes apart is RARE. This Beach Side Hotel owner isn't just running a business – they're living their PASSION PROJECT, folks!

Try finding another hotel owner who cares this much! Seriously, TRY. I'll wait... elevator music plays ...still waiting! See? Impossible!

To Our Beloved Hotel Owner 💖

You're not just a 5.0 hotel – you're a 5.0 HUMAN BEING! Your hotel isn't just your business, it's your "why in life" (which sounds way better than "job" or "source of mortgage payments"). Keep spreading that hospitality magic like it's butter on hot toast! 🧈🍞

And Now, A Special Message to the Sub-5-Star Reviewers 😉

Dear Grumpy Guests:

Nobody else has lost the ability to stand in a warm shower! It's a MIRACLE you survived! Perhaps consider sitting down next? Revolutionary concept!

Did you know earplugs were invented by CAVE PEOPLE? That's right! Even Neanderthals understood how to block out noise. They didn't have stars to remove from reviews, but they DID have basic problem-solving skills! 🦴

The hotel generously allowed you to dirty TWO rooms for the price of ONE! What a bargain! Most places charge extra for that kind of efficiency!

In conclusion, I may never have felt the pillows, tasted the continental breakfast, or experienced the legendary shower of doom, but I HAVE witnessed the pure joy of an owner who cares, and sometimes, that's all you need to know! Next time I'm in town I'm staying at your...

Celebrating my daughter's 50th birthday with a beach weekend. Beachside hotel was an excellent place to do it! The staff is beyond friendly! Jen talked with me like an old friend and she helped me locate a rental service for a beach wheelchair. Their service was excellent and so ready to help however they could. We were in room 504. Newly updated and very comfortable. The view was breathtaking. I so enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves and the beachgoers. The pool was a real treat. The water was warm and so relaxing. It has a lift which allowed my disabled son to get into the pool for the first time in 10 years! That was worth every penny I spent! There is also a ramp for beach access for a wheelchair. I even found a water hose to wash all the sand off the chair when we returned. I can't say enough about the accommodations for him to have access to the pool and beach. However, on the down side, the room did not offer the same access. Being an older building, the doorway to the bathroom was too narrow for his chair. We were able to work around that since it was a short weekend stay. It was not a deal breaker. I would go back again. Also, pets are allowed so I was able to take my fur baby along rather than leaving him with strangers. Another big plus! There is a small dog park alongside the building. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay this is it. It's quaint, cozy, pet friendly, offers free breakfast , and has the most wonderful staff you'll ever find! I definitely would go back again! We had a...

The hotel is situated between two large hotels which leaves it feeling small. When you first arrive there is a statue that feels out of place and is difficult not to run over. This statue will also have your little ones asking question about human anatomy. When we first arrived to check in there was a woman who appeared to work there just sitting on the check in counter speaking on the phone and didn’t bother to move as we were trying to check in. The room was facing the inter-coastal river and had a great view from the 4th floor. At first glance it was very nice although some of the appliances like the fridge had rust developing on them. The bed was very comfortable and we stayed in one of the suites that sleeps 6 people. On our last night we noticed a large leak coming from the ceiling around the air conditioner which could be heard while sleeping. We had two balconies and two bathrooms which was nice. The breakfast was dissatisfying due to lack of selection so we ended up eating out both mornings. The pool deck provides a great view of the ocean as the waves roll in at high tide in the morning. Along with a view of the sunrise over the ocean. Easy access to beach. Pool deck was well maintained. The pool is claimed to be heated but not nearly as warm as you would think during winter months. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Hotel is located a short drive from the boardwalk and you can walk to the south pier via beach or road.

This hotel was fairly new to us, I had never stayed here before and my wife came across this hotel unexpectedly. We booked it for our Anniversary and I must say we really like it here. My wife loves to hear the ocean and see the waves come in strong. She won't get in the beach but she wanted something close to see and hear the ocean. This hotel gave us that and more. It is a cozy room with kitchenette and a balcony. Other hotels we have stayed at have given us a balcony but even though we asked for oceanview we really didn't get it, like this one. My wife os extremely happy and we will definitely be coming back to this hotel. It is not a huge hotel but it is the perfect place to have some peace and tranquility. The front desk assistant Jennifer is Amazing, Love her charm and welcoming approach. That to is is a plus sign since they are the ones you come in contact with when you arrive. The breakfast has a little bit of everything, more than just a continental breakfast. What can I say I wanted my wife to be happy and relax from our busy lives and this place has given us that. Thank You Beachside and see you soon.
