We were on a brunch hunt in Daytona Beach and stumbled upon @ZugbaCafe. We were excited by all the Filipino inspired dishes, we’ll definitely be back to try them all! Chosilog, Tapsilog, Halo-Halo, Ube?? Say Less 🤤 šŸ’œ Ube lovers, this one’s for you: * Ube Coconut Custard Cake * Ube Tiramisu * Mini Ube Cheesecakes Not feeling Filipino? Don’t sweat, they also have plenty of other familiar breakfast/brunch dishes. ā˜€ļø #ZugbaCafe #DaytonaBeachEats #FilipinoFood #BrunchFinds #HaloHaloSeason #UbeDreams #Foodstagram #SupportLocal #BrunchGoals #UbeEverything #HaloHaloTime #UbeDesserts #HaloHalo #Chosilog #Tapsilog #winnierau #homesbyrau #teamrau #realtorrau

This lovely cafe is literally directly across the street from public beach access in Daytona Shores- I’m talking, we walked 4 minutes to get some coffee & lunch here from our spot on the sand. Couldn’t be more perfectly located! Not only that, but it is REALLY good. This ain’t no tourist trap type food, it’s real and unique and delicious. When we first walked up there were some older geezers who were clearly locals sitting out have their coffee- that’s how I knew we were already at the right place. It’s super cute inside and they have a big menu. It’s kind of mediterranean/ Greek inspired food which is cool. We had to wait awhile for the food but you bet it was worth it. Everything we had was so fresh and top knotch. I tried the caprese sandwich on a bagel and it was loaded with ingredients and flavor. Even the oatmeal came in huge plastic containers full of fruit, brown sugar and other toppings. The coffee hit the mark as well. If you like matcha you’ll definitely want to try it here- you can get it flavored too, my friend tried a blueberry matcha that was not too sweet but really well balanced. Super impressed this spot and can’t wait to come back. The staff was really friendly and helpful as well. They even have Dubai chocolate bars for sale there that we were tempted to try.

Small parking in front. We walked in and the gentleman never cracked a smile while adding stickers to his cups. He did not seem to know answers to our questions. Not friendly, knowledgeable or welcoming in any way. The menu boards are way confusing. Words written on every inch with multiple sticky notes. Two ladies in the back came out and answered our questions. In addition they needed to turn the air down because it was way too hot inside with all the windows. NOW for the good part. We had a pistachio cheesecake and a lemon cake, cold freshly brewed Goddess Green iced tea, and a chicken salad croissant. All the food was delicious and refreshing as well as the drink. The surroundings were small but nice, clean and crisp. A few bar stools outside. They just need to get somebody out front who is amiable and turn down the AC. Yes I would love to come back because the food was outstanding.

9 bucks for regular size latte and like 8:50 for a small frappe crazy is totally insane way to overpriced would not recommend place is kind of cool but you this is why they didn't have the menu process to show what it cost honestly I've learned the hard way before never go to a place or order from a place that won't show its menu and won't show the prices in the restaurant as most of the time they're either ashamed of their prices or they're trying to hide the process cuz they can't justify if you're going to charge that much at least make sure it's decent coffee and at least make sure people know the prices of the product they're paying instead of being sketchy and about it not šŸ˜Ž cool!!! At those prices you would be better off going to coffee therapy or Starbucks but I definitely recommend coffee therapy but don't go to this place you'll regret it and it's not worth the money that they're asking which if it was I would be willing to pay the price for the high quality product!! Do not go here they are liars I was not loud I was having a reasonable tone with them as they tried to update in their response to my review I was not loud I just asked him about the price and then she was telling me and then she was giving me a bunch of nonsense I don't know the size is perfectly but I did not see it on the board maybe there was misunderstanding but I was not allowed I asked him a simple question the younger waitress was rude to me and was not even responding when I asked her a question she just walked away and then I had to go to the older one to talk to her because the younger one was too immature to talk to me!! Talk to Mark a owner of the restaurant and he clearly told me I was wrong and that they've never gotten any complaints but I've looked at some of the reviews and I'm not the only negative of you about their prices or their food or service so obviously he's just lying for his employees not cool go to a place go to Coffee Therapy if you want to go to an awesome coffee shop in Daytona!!! I can't say enough great things about Zugba Cafe! First of all, the atmosphere is very classy and the music is tasteful and relaxing. The cappuccino I ordered on my first visit was excellent. On my next 2 visits, the young lady was very helpful and answered all my questions very politely and professionally. I ordered the chocolate croissants and was surprised at how good they were; they reminded me of European and Turkish pastries, which are not overloaded with sugar but have the perfect amount of sweetness that does not overpower one's palate. The chocolate croissant was so good, it prompted me to get a second croissant, but I got the almond one instead , and it was just as good.

Today, on my third visit, I decided to get lunch. I got a frapuccino as a beverage, and was surprised to learn they make them with ice cream. I was a bit worried, admittedly, that it would come out too sweet because of the ice cream, but I was surprised that, just like the croissants, it was not at all overpoweringly sweet. The basil chicken marinara on ciabbata bread was fresh and delicious. The young lady always asks if one would like the pastries and sandwiches toasted, and they come out excellent!

On this occasion, I had the opportunity to meet the owner, who politely greeted me and asked about my experience. I expressed my enthusiasm about the locale and congratulated him. His broad smile was very heartwarming. Volusia county needs more places...

The interior is a bit cramped with an awkward layout, but it's nicely done. We were "greeted" by a young woman who we could barely hear. I assume she said something pleasant, but she never spoke to us again. She turned her back and made 6 complicated drinks while we stood there watching her. She never said, "I'll be with you in a moment" or "I'll get your order as soon as I can." She simply ignored us. At least 15 minutes later, just as we were about to leave, the owners came in with groceries. We were pleased to finally be considered, but when we were asked if we were ready to order, it was hard not to get annoyed based on how long we had already been standing there. When the owner helping us asked the young employee a question regarding our order, she just stood there with a blank expression. In the end, the coffee was good. The fancier drinks we watched being made looked tempting. The pastry I got was excellent and I'd order it again. The problem is, will be be itching to return to such dismissive service? It's insulting to stand there, cash in hand, waiting to be helped with zero acknowledgment. It's hard not to take that personally. I really hope this shop improves and hires an eager and professional staff because everything else is pretty good! I'd love to...
