b.b. Perrins Sports Grille — Restaurant in Decatur

We came close to closing time. It was spur of the moment, but we love supporting our community and great food. My husband had previously come with one of his clients and enjoyed a hamburger. That's what I had. Though it was so close to closing time, we weren't snubbed. On the contrary, we were welcomed in like family. That's the treatment I would only expect from family; warm smiles, "how are y'all tonight?" We were promptly met at the table, drink orders were made and a few minutes later we had drinks and our food order was taken. We had their hamburgers with cheese, which comes with French fries and special slaw. (I haven't had anything like that slaw. I wish I'd ordered 2 sides of the slaw!) And that hamburger?! That's a real hamburger. No soy additives, no cracker or bread crumbs in these burgers! That's how I love my burgers, thick, tasty, and juicy. But the thing that is always hard to top is customer service. For me, good food is great, but the customer service will keep us coming back. Our server didn't rush us out the door. Our food was hot, and she gave us some good drink suggestions at the next stop we were making on our next stop for our date night. It was great advice, too, because we took it and she was right. This server supports her community and other establishments in our community in a unique way, I'd say. (I wish I could remember her name. She's a ruby, that one.) My husband and I will definitely...

I must say, this is the BLAH-EST food I've eaten in a loooong time. We had the catfish plate w/mashed potatoes & baked beans. Also had the rib plate w/ fries & greens. Upon food being brought to the table, the 1st thing that we didn't care for was the sides are in styrofoam cups like someone stole all of side bowls & they just grabbed some styrofoam coffee cups from the breakroom. The ribs were tough & had to be pulled from the bone. This was our 1st indication the food itself wasn't going to be a good experience. The ribs also had no real flavor. Tenderness while chewing also was non-present. I might as well have been eating a Slim Jim. People who say these were good, I really want to ask what the hell they're comparing them to?? Fries were decent but the greens were unseasoned & blah. We ended up having the rib plate removed from the ticket. The catfish tasted exactly like taking a piece of catfish, throw it in a fryer, then eat it. No spies, seasoning or love whatsoever. I only ate half of it bc I was starving. The beans tasted like they were dumped straight out of a can. Mashed Potatoes were not bad, but nothing to write home about. We ended up leaving & going to eat somewhere else. Overall, this place is a joke for food. Don't waste your time or money....

We were a party of 12 on a Tuesday night for dinner. The restaurant was not busy. A few guys in their 20s were at the front drinking and playing video games, a couple of people were at the bar, and there was another table of four. We ordered and everyone got their food except for the two people who ordered pizzas. Everyone ate their food … still no pizzas. Everyone finished their food … still no pizzas. Everyone was ready to go … still no pizzas. We were not told when we placed our orders that pizzas would take longer. That would have changed our orders … especially if they’d said ONE HOUR longer. But it’s not the timing of the pizza that I’m reviewing here.
