There were several occurrences of note that piqued my satisfaction readings with our stay at the Vonnie Louise. The most enjoyable was having personalized treatment from Rian. This was more than just good service. It extended to informal and warm goodwill which led to several great conversations about people and places in Montana and our own personal histories. In addition when a minor maintenance issue occurred they did everything possible to keep us informed and reduced our rates significantly without being asked. It was more like working with friends than service providers. We will be back to Deer Lodge in the near future and if there are vacancies I intend to stay again at the Vonnie Louise. Lastly my wife agrees with the above but also mentioned how quiet the house is and and how central the location is to the town as well as the whole region which has a natural abundance of great fishing, beautiful and truly impressive scenery, and many sites of historic interest. Rian and her crew were the hit...
Read moreThe family and I decided to take a road trip to get out of the house for a few days. Initially, we thought that we would end up in Bozeman to explore but with having a little one we decided to stop halfway and landed in Deer Lodge. While looking for a place to stay for the night we ran across a couple of hotels that didn't look to appealing. We needed a place that gave off a clean home vibe for our son so he could feel comfortable and that's when we came across the Vonnie Louise. Upon walking in the door it felt like home. We had all the amenities that we needed and the place was spotless.
Long story short- Spotless rooms, heated floors, clawfoot tub, great owners! You won't be...
Read moreTotal gem 💎 A perfectly dialed-in, restful, clean, comfortable spot. This place knows and understands the hospitality business. Rooms are clean, quiet, well-appointed, well-stocked, good sized, and peaceful. Truly a place to rest and refocus.
Check-in is easy, & contactless which (aside from obvious COVID benefits) means a late check in is okay. It’s a welcome benefit you’d expect from a large chain but get to enjoy in this small, much more enjoyable setting.
For me: this was a impromptu, google search find for 1 night stop-over on a roadtrip. Now, this will be my destination stopping point on all future trips through the area. If I weren’t leaving to continue the trip, I would have loved to explore more of downtown.
I made it to Montana Bar (walking distance) for a quick drink before bed and I totally recommend it. The downtown scene is quaint, cute, clean & historic. Next time I will add a day to my trip just to spend...
