Wow! This was one of the best unexpected cabin stays on our week trip to Yellowstone! We were looking for a campsite or cabin on the way back home and counting on one location to stay at (in a different city) but when we called they said they don't do late check ins. Instead they recommended cabins in Deer Lodge. I googled camping in Deer Lodge and AOK camp up. I couldn't find information on Google maps whether there are campsites or cabins offered so with little hope I called and thankfully, to my surprise, they offered cabins and had availability! The rates were lower than most other places we stayed at. When we arrived the host Sharri and owner Mike were so accommodating and hospitable ! They explained everything to us, and Sharri gave lots of recommendations on our travel route, while Mike made sure we stayed warm and helped us turn on the heater in the cabin (yes the cabin has a heater!). And another wow is that they have heaters, lights, and even AC in the cabin, we were so impressed, and I wish we could find more information online about this wonderful place to book ahead. The cabins are camping style cabins so you need to bring your own sheets or sleeping bags. The cabin we booked had twin over twin bunkbed and a full bed, and easily fit the four adults and two toddlers (we brought our pack n plays). They cost $79 per night and Rv sites I believe are $59. There are three total cabins on AOK campground. Also they have shower facilities (that were clean). I can't recommend this place enough and my only recommendation is for this location to have more information on Google maps and more info about cabins on the website. Thank you for a wonderful stay...
Read moreOur 3rd RV in our road trip back in October. This place on first impression was not high as it did look very rural and very different to the larger and more established mega camprounds we had previously visited. However, waking up by the river was a delight, so incredibly peaceful. The restroom/shower were probably my favorite of all the campgrounds we visited on our 2 week road trip as I liked it when the toilet is together with the shower. I like that there was a bench, a chair. So plenty of ways to put your things down and not on the ground. Heating was always on even at the lowest temperature it was great and they had a sign to ensure guests did not turn it off completely. The night we stayed winds were high and there was a wind warning actually announced. Being by the river, it felt concerning but this is probably because I had not ever stayed in a truck camper before therefore unsure what to expect. We did not blow over. In ther morning we could see some bench chairs had toppled over but they were not cemented to the ground so all good. No wind damage to the truck either. Staff was friendly...
Read moreIf your staying short term for a couple nights im sure it's ok but if you are staying for an extended stay for buissness mike is a fraud and will rip u off he trys to pre charge a month ahead for electricity and or rent he charged me 2300 for electric for 5 months it dont cost that for a 3 bed room house and though he gave me 100 dollar discount he owes me approx 1600 dollars, so he will cheat u out of money. He is a drunk and likes to yell and disrespect his long terms. I don't recommend here for any length of time I would have gave this place a zero but he has some worker's that are really great and work hard to stay on top of things and deal with being treated poorly by mike and not getting paid correctly.Further more there is no parking available without risk of damage to vehicles, all campers are pretty much on top of eachother, also the creek not "river" breeds miscitos...
