My recent stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Deerfield Beach - Boca Raton was profoundly disappointing and stressful, especially considering the difficult circumstances of my visit. I chose this hotel because I used to live in the area and wanted a familiar, comfortable place to stay while in town for crucial oncology and other medical check-ups following my cancer treatment last year. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but comfortable.
Due to a change in my schedule while here, I decided to come a day earlier so that I wasn't rushed and to make it easier. The hotel was unable to modify my existing reservation, instead, requiring me to book a separate, second night. I was told when I arrived at the hotel they could merge the two stays so I didn't have to check out and back in. While inconvenient, I accepted this. Upon arrival at the hotel, registration said I had to come back first thing this morning and they would be able to take care of everything. Additionally, registration informed me that TV services weren't working but should be soon.
This morning I went to the front desk to first and foremost take care of the room stay. There was a male employee on duty around 7:30 a.m. It was obvious from the start he was rushed and hurried. When I asked about the room stay, he brusquely told me he was "busy" and I would have to come back later in the morning. I remained calm, then asked about the inoperable TV service in my room since the previous day, he again curtly replied, "We're working on it, brother," which I found to be condescending and inappropriate. If this guy was a manager or senior person, he should be doubly ashamed about dismissing guests or speaking to them that way.
This level of disrespect and lack of customer service is unacceptable, particularly from a Hilton property. This experience has left me feeling upset and deeply disappointed. To make matters worse, I also lost 11,000 Hilton points that I will not be able to recover. I expected a much higher standard of care and professionalism from a hotel chain in a community I once called home. I regret not having read the recent reviews more carefully before booking and would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those in town for important and sensitive reasons.
I will be checking out at 11am this morning and not returning to this property (ever). While I know I will lose the second night stay, I can't in good conscience stay here...
Read moreHORRIBLE. I booked this hotel for my wedding block and would NEVER RECOMMEND this place. It was impressively bad. From the start of booking the wedding block to the day of my wedding, the communication, accommodations, service, and the way they treated my guests who stayed there was disgusting. In short:
--Guest services and the sales representatives told my guests the block was fully booked when it wasn't. They had 2 representatives saying different information to my guests which made it seem like they were just trying to charge more for rooms.
--They double booked my husband and I for our bridal and junior suites the day of. I had to remind them I was the bride and needed the rooms to get ready for our wedding. They were trying to put us in a different room but said they would have to charge us for a change fee (so they were about to charge us for their mistake).
--When asking our sales rep questions, my husband was transferred to a different rep and was being told we booked different dates and different rooms. When I called to as what was going on, I had to remind them who I was and all the information from initially booking. I don't think they actually saved any of our information (even though we signed a contract with them).
--My guests were told upon check-in that they didn't have rooms ready so had to wait. They also were told they couldn't leave their luggage anywhere even though the wait was their fault. So they basically had t wait in the lobby for a few hours without being able to eave because then they had to leave with all their luggage.
--There was also no body wash in my room and 4 of my other guests rooms, which personally I didn't care about but need to mention for those who actually expected and needed this amenity.
--Upon check-out, whoever the floor manager and cleaning staff were came to the rooms 30 minutes early. They knocked on our doors to rudely say we needed to leave. I could understand a reminder but they just stood there waiting for us to pack up so they could clean.
If you are looking to get poorly treated and book an overpriced room, then this...
Read moreChecked in on July 30th, started out with their system being down and they were not doing any early check in. They advise me to wait until 4pm. At 4pm we were given keys to room 304, must I tell you how filthy the carpet was disgustingly dirty. I had my six-year-old daughter with me and was very concerned. We spoke to the front desk and then they switched us to Room 411. when we got to that room, that carpet was a little better the bathroom tub had hair inside from the previous guest soap scum was still showing from the previous guest on the soap holder. The bathroom tile had black mold in between the tiles in the shower the overall cleanliness of the bathroom was disgusting. The phone was broken down. The room is very dated. as I laid in bed with my daughter, a complete stranger was given keys and assign the same room I was already in which frighten my six-year-old daughter. She wondered how did a strange man get a key to our room so I had to explain to her what had occurred the staff did not seem overly concerned they acted as if it was normal behavior. I filed a complaint and was provided a case number I was told that the manager for the property will reach out to me within 24 to 48 hours that never occurred. The staff did not seem welcoming nor did they seem like they wanted to be at work. There was no apology just seem like business as usual despite the bad customer service. The housekeeping department needs to be reevaluated and assess there was no consistency with the housekeeper every day it was somebody different .They are cleaning and the chemicals that they have in the hallway had bottles that was on not labeled, which is a safety concern. The product that they use is Ecolab, Ecolab does provide labels for all their chemicals. Fabulosos is not a commercial base-product. I would never stay here again, and I made the best of my birthday but overall was not happy with the service...
