Hook Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Deerfield Beach

Although they are usually busy, they handle the service and orders pretty well. They are usually friendly even with recent pandemic circumstances. The food is great 95% of the time. In my visit tonight the customer service was VERY poor. I pulled in the drive thru and waited a few mins in line which I didn't mind....as I get to the speaker it's about 9:10pm the person asked to take my order and I ask them to hold for a moment so I can look at the menu. He said very rudely "I don't have time to wait" as I look up he's basically standing next to my car and he says I need to hurry up and order because they were closed. His tone was very rude and completely unprofessional. At that point I didn't even want to eat there because I felt like he was going to do something to my food since he was mad for whatever reason...as I'm waiting, the car that was already at the window had an issue with an insect being in their food and the employees seemed to not want to fix the issue or give a refund. Eventually they gave a refund but they were being very argumentative with the customer instead of just fixing the problem. I have been coming here for at least 12 years and lately it's at least once a week sometimes more and I spend $50+ easily everytime... I have never received/witnessed this kind of service here. If you were closed just say that so I could go elsewhere, don't take out your frustrations on the customers. I get that we are all on edge at this time so I just let it go in that moment because the staff was clearly agitated by the prior situation but going forward I will be spending my...

So I went here yesterday and ordered through the drive thru. When we got to the window, we handed them the card and the lady came back and told us that it needs a pin. Usually that would have been fine if she had handed us a machine for us to put the pin in, but she didnt. I asked if she could run it as credit and she said no. I've never experienced anything like that at a drive thru before. At this point we're super puzzled and just completely suspicious of this place because that's just not normal. It seems they were getting irritated with us. We ended up paying in cash (luckily we had some) and then my bf asked of he could get a lemonade, and the lady very rudely said "I cant take an order at the window".

1. the pin thing with the debit card is super sketchy. We even stopped at a chick fil a to get a lemonade and I asked the guy taking the order about the debit card thing and he said usually restaurants with drive thru dont require a pin for debit cards and if they do, they hand you the machine to type it in yourself, not come back and say to u that your card requires a pin.

2. they were super rude. I also deliver for postmates and whenever I have to pick up something from this place I always dread it because they arent very friendly in there.

3. the fries were cold and soggy, the calamari was cold. It was just a hot mess and we're never going back there.

I should so never have this stuff but these chicken fingers are phenomenal. It's very inexpensive, great value, cooked to order, so it's a once in a while feast for me.

I have to say hooks really disappointed me tonight. I had previously given given them five stars because I love the food. But tonight I called about 11:30 PM to order over the phone so I could simply pick the food up in the drive-through. The lady told me on the phone that I had to come to the drive through and order and hung up on me. So I went to the drive-through to order I got there at approximately 11:50, 10 minutes before closing time and she tells me they’re closed. They close at 12 not 1150. So she wasted my time would not take my order on the phone and when I get here I could not make the order in person.That type of customer service is terrible and it’s how you lose customers. I can’t even begin to describe how disgusted I am right now so I’ve change my rating of hooks from five star to one star because customer service matters to me more than the actual...
