Visited on Sunday 5/19/24 from 12:45 to about 2:10.
I took my wife here who LOVES steak. We were excited to try the new place and have never been. The hostess was excellent. Super friendly and asked us if we had ever been. She was a ray of sunshine. Seriously.
So far, we are liking it. We order the “Outlaw Ribeye”. One order because we have learned it is much less wasteful to split, BUT we did order extra sides, because basically we just wanted to split the steak.
I wanted to like our waitress, but she would disappear for lengthy periods of time, but she was able to tend to us fairly well. However, when the steaks were brought out, it was the awesome hostess. She was the best part of our visit and I wish I could remember her name.
We ordered the brisket queso, which was super tasty, but the chips… half of them were chewy, soggy, or stale. We also ran out of chips, but used bread we got for the rest.
Back to the arrival of the steaks and sides. We got our salads, my Caesar was meh, but ok. I didn’t come for the salads anyway. When the steak came, that was the end of the sunshine. The hostess left us smiling and then I cut into the steak.
To be fair, my wife ordered medium and then we switched it to medium rare. The waitress showed her how it should look when we ordered. However, this steak was b.l.o.o.d.y. Ok, no problem, we will send it back for a couple of minutes.
Where is our waitress? Finally my wife gets the attention of someone else to find her. Another guy comes a couple minutes later and says he will take care of it for us.
We eat the rest of our salad. Then I ate my sweet potato… which was very good, and my wife finished her baked potato. And we waited…
… and waited.
We are patient and at a couple of times the waitress came by to tell us they were taking care of our steak. Well, finally after about 15 minutes or so AFTER we ate all of our sides and queso, ANOTHER guy comes with the steak and another baked potato. It threw me off a little bit and I took a minute to process what he was saying. He asked me to cut into the steak to see if it was ok. I was for some reason stunned by the new potato, and said so. His response was “We like our presentation to look right when we serve our steaks.” That’s not verbatim, but something similar. So I cut into the steak, which seemed considerably thinner, but my head was swimming for some reason.
I cut into the steak, it was WELL DONE. At this point, we had just the steak left because we had eaten the sides, so we tried eating the steak only to find it was completely TASTELESS. I ordered Tabasco and that didn’t help. My wife, who LOVES steak remember? She usually can find a redeeming quality for any excuse to eat steak. She told me she couldn’t do it and it was tasteless. I ate two bites, she ate maybe 3 and we got a to-go box for our dogs to enjoy a $30 steak.
To top it off, we get our receipt for $90!!!! We split a steak meal, got two sides and an appetizer. So, I look twice and see we were charged twice for steaks. So, once again we had to search for the mostly absentee waitress. I do want to say, she was there for refills and to check on us, but the disappearing act would happen at the most inconvenient times. Anyway, she apologized and rectified and we walked out spending a little over $66 with a reluctant tip.
To the guy who thinks presentation is important. I guess it is, but that extra potato didn’t make up for the poor experience and lack of taste in your steaks.
No manager came by to ask how things were, nor did management apologize. Never saw a manager for that matter.
We aren’t looking for free food, just tasty with a good experience. Your only bright star is your hostess, so she gets your one star. No one deserves the other 4.
If you like steaks, this isn’t the place to go. I mean if you like flavor and good services, try somewhere else. We were disappointed.

Read moreDear LongHorn Corporate Guest Relations,
I am writing to formally share a very disappointing experience my family and I had at your Denton, Texas LongHorn Steakhouse on 9-27-25 during what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for my husband.
My husband ordered a steak dinner, and when it arrived, the steak was not just lukewarm — it was completely cold, as was his macaroni side. The server took the steak back to the kitchen, but it was never returned until after everyone else at the table had already finished their meals. During this entire time, no one came by to provide an update or check in with us. My husband became increasingly upset as he sat with no meal on his birthday, while everyone else ate.
When the steak was finally brought out, my husband declined to eat because the evening had already been ruined. I asked that the steak be boxed to take home, but the manager, Ryan, informed me that it had been thrown away. I explained that my husband was upset and just needed a moment, but instead of showing understanding or offering a resolution, the staff simply discarded the meal without consulting us.
Later, when I called and spoke to Aaron Fenstermaker, the Managing Partner, he stated that he “would’ve done the same thing.” I was shocked to hear this response from someone in a leadership role. At no point did anyone attempt to genuinely make the situation right, and the dismissive attitude from management only added to our frustration.
We have dined at LongHorn many times and have always expected a certain level of hospitality and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling disrespected and ignored on what should have been a memorable and joyful evening.
I hope you will take this matter seriously. At minimum, I would appreciate an acknowledgment that this is not the standard of service LongHorn Steakhouse stands for. Most importantly, I hope you will address this with the Denton location so that other guests do not have their special occasions ruined in...
Read moreNot very often do I leave bad reviews when I have had an issue with a restaurant, but this one needs to be said.
Firstly, no wait time, I wonder why, so we were seated quickly and were greeted by our server. Now, while I'm not going to put his name on here as he did nothing wrong, I will say he was absolutely wonderful. He checked on us while not being too overbearing and made sure to fill our drinks and check up on us often. I had absolutely no issues with our server.
When we had gotten our appetizer, of which we chose the Firecracker Chicken Wraps. These were incredibly good, and unfortunately, little did we know, would be the last thing we ate that we enjoyed here. I ordered the 8 ounce Sirloin with an 8 count redrock shrimp, a baked potato, and some Macoroni and cheese, and my accompaniment ordered the Baked Potato Soup. Firstly, the mac and cheese and the shrimp were okay, nothing amazing, and by far, not something you couldn't make at home for far cheaper. And then I got to the steak. While it is true it was cooked to Medium, as requested, the texture and toughness matched that of a well-done steak. It was almost impossible to cut through, and the texture was awful. There was also absolutely no seasoning on it, aside from maybe what was in the crust, which was the only enjoyable thing about it. The loaded baked potato soup was nothing to write home about either, as it was very, soupy? Most baked potato soup has small chunks of actual potato, this however was almost like something you'd get out of a can at a grocery store.
All in all, we spent 75 dollars total, and the food was subpar at best. Went to Saltgrass last night and enjoyed my food there so much more, and for almost half the price. If you want to go to a steakhouse, avoid this one. It may be called the Longhorn Steakhouse, but it is by far one of the worst steakhouses I've been to in the...
