Wow! I loved staying at this hotel with my husband and two kids. My husband stays here frequently for work and the kids and I were able to tag along for 2 weeks this month. Every staff member went above and beyond for our family. There were a few stand outs. Adela who is on the breakfast team ended up feeling like family by the end of our stay. She checked in with us every day, helped gather dishes, carry stuff to our table, and much more. She is a true gem! Edith was also SO kind and sweet with our kids. The food & beverage director (her name is slipping my mind now) checked in with us every day too. She would let me know when conferences started and ended and advised what time I should bring the kids down for breakfast when it wasnt as busy. Just so incredibly thoughtful! Gavin at the front desk went above and beyond to help me figure out allergens in the breakfast menu for my daughter. He also was so thoughtful to have extra supplies dropped off at our door since I had my kids with me. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean and well kept. The indoor pool was a hit with me & the kids. We went daily. Outdoor pool was a bit too chilly for us but it's October. lol Splash pad is nice touch too!
We loved the evening reception. Every evening 530-7pm they have chips, salsa, veggies, and ranch out for guests and every guest gets 2 free drinks. We called it snack time. LOL It was a nice touch to reset from the day. The bartenders were so kind to myself & my family. They made bubbly juice for my kiddos. They also made delicious NA mocktails for myself.
This is a convention center so be prepared for groups to come and go downstairs. The rooms are well-insulated so we never heard commotion in our rooms. Just busy on the main floor from time to time. We didn't mind!
I used the laundry facilities. They're clean and well-kept. $3.25 for a hot & heavy wash, $2.50 for a heavy dry cycle.
I used the chat feature on the Hilton app. I always heard back from front desk in a timely manner. The digital key was hit and miss so my husband and I always just carried the physical key with us. No biggie.
Location is great. The restaurant in the hotel is nice. There is an IHOP, Portillos, and Cheddars walking distance from the hotel. Easy access to and from the freeway. Target and Walmart a 2-5 minute drive away. The complimentary breakfast is the best I've ever had. Freshly made omelet bar, cook-to-order eggs, biscuits and gravy, french toast, yogurt, fresh cut melon, juice, oatmeal, grits, bagels, cream cheese, jams, peanut butter, made-to-order waffles, breakfast sandwiches, tortillas, salsa, fresh bacon, fresh sausage, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, four different cereals, almond milk, cows milk, bread, muffins, etc. If you want it, they have it.
I can't recommend this hotel enough if you're in the...
Read moreJust got back from a two night work conference here and truly delighted in this hotel! Was totally in love with the stunning indoor plants and decor. Enjoyed a two room corner suite that was enormous and quite comfortable aside from the pillows which seemed to flatten and then envelope my head, ha! Had a few minor hiccups after checking in. The TV in the living area had sound but no picture. The couch was ultra plush so I was disappointed not to be able to veg out there that evening. Also the power in the bedroom wasn't working initially. Maintenance came fairly promptly and offered to replace the TV right away. I told him to feel free to wait until the next day while I was gone for meetings. The power in the bedroom turned out to just be the surge protectors on the bed frame switched off accidentally. Maintenance forgot his walkie talkie on the floor when crawling around under the bed and a bit later when I heard voices coming from the room I was a little startled! No biggie and the TV was working by lunchtime the next day. Bedroom was a tad stuffy but I find that can be typical in hotels. Bed was comfy and the room was dark and quiet! There were some fun touches that felt upscale and high tech like the electric touchpad light controls with settings like "daytime", "evening", and "relax" and the Bluetooth bathroom mirror. Breakfast was great. Made to order omelettes/eggs in addition to hot breakfast meats, make your own Texas shaped waffles, and a buffet that had 4-5 different offerings each morning like biscuits and gravy, potatoes, etc. plus the usual cereals, fruit, oatmeal, pastries, bagels, and more. Best complimentary hotel breakfast I've seen. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. I utilized the gym twice and it was well equipped. Pools looked great! The two complimentary drinks each evening were a fun bonus. Both nights I grabbed a double pour of wine in a to go cup to enjoy in the room but many of my more lively coworkers congregated in the enormous lobby which has an array of comfy seating and tables and fun features like a decorative modern fireplace and floor to ceiling waterfall. I ordered from the Houlihan's on site one evening and it was fine but there's also a ton of other great food options in the area and on DoorDash. The ballroom in which my meetings were held both days was absolutely freezing so that was quite uncomfortable and made it difficult to focus but otherwise a great spot for a large event. Overall this hotel made my two nights away from my chaotic home life feel like a bit of a luxury retreat despite being a fairly unexciting work thing! Would not...
Read moreUNREAL - it would have been hard for Embassy Suites to make it worse. Not sure if there is a more dysfunctional place in the DFW area. Customer Svc / Live Chat via the App / Live Chat via website was as bad as it gets. Hours trying to communicate & they simply cannot get it to work. Response time was literally 15 minutes at best & literally 3-4 hours in most cases. It is crazy how bad their svc is. No outdoor pool - they shut it down in Texas in the summer without informing anyone, nothing online, no compensation made for it - just no outdoor pool for paying customers to use in July. When asked about this or for compensation - crickets. They would not respond. Checking in early to get room & digital key - WASTE OF TIME. Room assigned? No. It did not put this in the system "for some reason" the manager stated. Digital Key? Did not work - EVER. So you can take your time to check in early, but you still get to go wait for the front desk person to do it all for you & give you key cards. Waste of time. Our toilet was clogged, filled with stuff & gross - When We Arrived. We had to get maintenance to service it in a room that was assigned to us - such high quality care. Water in the building - barely trickled on Day 2 & no hot water. They "had a problem" - SHOCKER. So - for all this craptastic service & unusable amenities & treatment, what does Hilton & Embassy Suites offer us? 1 hour late check out & 2000 pts. That's It. I have now stayed here 3 times. This is the second poor service & messed up place experience, so we will choose somewhere else. I recommend avoid it unless it's free for you. It is mismanaged, they have no clue how to do customer service & Hilton itself does not care to make anything right with how terrible it is. It is nice looking on the outside for sure - and absolutely a mess once you get there.
UPDATE: I appreciate the quick reply from Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center. They did not address anything in a real way - that is how they treat customers. They also deflect reality (or do not actually read what is written). And the BIG issues are fully ignored. I guess it is par for the course. I did email them 3 times & left a phone message (I also responded to their survey sent to me) asking for a response & a remedy. As of today (6 days later) - not a single email or phone call from Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton...
