I have read many of the reviews, and most of them seem like the customers were treated well. Our experience had its ups and downs. All started well, with Johanna as our salesperson. She was friendly and helped us out, and was attentive. Eventually, we settled on a full living room set with a sectional and a coffee table that raised up and toward you, like a work surface. My wife loved the table because she works from home and doesn't always like to sit in our office. So essentially, the table was the main selling point. This was our second trip in, and the LR set was on sale this time which was a nice bonus! So we went ahead and bought it along with a new dining room set. Since it was on sale, delivery wasn't an option, so we had to come to pick it up; no big deal. When we did, Garrett and Poppi started loading it up, but Poppi didn't know the top of the table moved and when he picked it up, the top extended, and it hit the ground and broke the corner off of the table (innocent accident). I was asked to sign for it but said "no" because of the damage, and I went and got our salesperson. Johanna looked at the damage and offered a discount, but I refused because we were there to buy new undamaged furniture at full price. I asked about a replacement, and she said it was discontinued, so that was going to be difficult. One of the managers came out at this point (Bryan, I believe) and started arguing with me and asking why I didn't just take the discount. I told him, "because we were there to buy new furniture," at which point he told me that the set was not new because it was on the showroom floor. I told him that just because it was on the floor, it wasn't "not new" and compared it to a car on a car lot and that just because the car is on the lot and may even have been test-driven, it's still considered new. He basically said that was ridiculous, at which point I just said fine, "unload it all", to which he quickly replied "okay". The GM, Victor, got involved at this point and apologized, and gave us a $100 in-store credit if we ever wanted to come back. Right before we left, Johanna found a matching replacement table, and Victor told us he would give it to us for free to alleviate some of our concerns. So basically, one associate with poor CSM skills almost cost the sale for our commission-based salesperson, but Victor and Johanna went wayyyyy above and beyond to rectify the issue, and we all lived happily ever after. We'll see what happens with the dining room set that should be...
Read moreWe love rooms to go. We’ve always bought our furniture time and time again. They make our house a home. The delivery, the interest free payments, all of it - such a great experience. So it makes me sad to note this location was less than even good.
We came in around 7pm on a Tuesday (they close at 9pm). Our 3 year old was VERY excited and loud about all the furniture and picking out a bed. I mention this because the place was EMPTY. You could hear her throughout the store and her excitement. As we made our way through the kids section we notice the office with the door open. An employee was in there on their phone - not talking but maybe texting/emailing/doing other things. Didn’t acknowledge us. We hang out around the office thinking he may acknowledge us eventually. He doesn’t.
We continue through the store to living room and larger bedroom sets. We have some questions after finding what we’re looking for. So I venture through to find an employee - I hear someone so I go looking.
I find a couple and one employee. I see their in deep conversation so I stand nearby. Nothing. Doesn’t look up. Doesn’t acknowledge us. Again child being excited and loud so you can’t miss us.
We keep our walking. We notice a third employee on a work related call. So we hang nearby hoping to grab their attention when they’re done. They’re done. Literally walked past us and said nothing. I even try to make eye contact. Nothing.
Are we invisible? What is going on? Never have experienced this before ever at a...
Read moreBought a recliner and loveseat got to try out recliner but the loveseat I was buying was not available on the floor to try out the one on the floor had a console & reclined on both ends. I did not want the console and my salesperson told me I could get it without either option, I asked to try that one out but she said there wasn’t one on the floor I was skeptical about buying without trying and told her ok I will get it, if I don’t like it I can always return it. The salesperson NEVER told me I could not return. Got the loveseat & recliner delivered and within 5 minutes of sitting on loveseat found it to be the most uncomfortable piece if furniture I have ever sat on. I immediately called the store and was informed that I could only cancel the order within 48 hours after payment but if it was on a delivery truck I couldn’t cancel but either way I could not return. I left a negative comment on Facebook and someone from RTG reached out to me, I explained what happened she said she would check it out & call me back shortly, yep NO call ever came, I also realized that they charged me for a warranty but NEVER mentioned a warranty & I didn’t ask for one. Very shady practices. I am now stuck with loveseat but I learned a valuable lesson, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ROOMS TO GO.EVER!
Update: After my review RTG replied and asked me to email them the specifics, which I did on Jan. 5th, have not received a reply or any further communication. Just confirms to not ever shop at...
