Clean and good overall experience well worthy of 5 stars for an under $200 hotel room. The things that pushed it to 5 stars were the pleasant and helpful staff and the continental breakfast.||Regarding the breakfast... hooray for actually good tasting eggs and a far better than average hotel continental breakfast biscuits and gravy. Even the ubiquitous little casing-less sausage links seemed somewhat better than average. ||Since the place is already very good and reasonably pricece--here is a long list of small things that management should look at to improve.||-Temperature controls. Ours was fine after less than 5 minutes of messing with it. Maybe this is not an easy to fix, but other reviewers also mentioned issues so maybe address it with a tips card in the room?|-Channel Guide - While I'm not giving a two-star review that seems mostly about this issue like the one guy---surely a night staff person has the time to go to a room a few times with a laptop to type up every available channel number and name/description in order. Then just change to the larges font possible to still fit on one page. Use the print driver to print two or four pages up, cut into pieces and laminate.|-Waffles/Lable 1 - Yippee for strawberry and plain batter! Boo for it not being labeled and strawberry sort of being the default on the left.| (Hint: Get a $30 Brother P-Touch on Amazon and a $20- 4 pack of White, Black, Red, Blue on Clear alternate brand T??? labels that look by far the best on most surfaces. Consider splurging on the $99 cell phone connected one. Note: P-Touch labels peel off cleanly from most surfaces and the printing is below a clear plastic layer that can be cleaned.)|-Waffles/Labels 2 - Maybe laminate some basic/simple instructions and command strip the behind each maker? Remind people they can make just two waffles with a half a cup and definitely not in big print to open or turn the maker if it is making an annoying beep. |Butter Label? - If you get a P-Touch g ahead and pur labels on the fridge that say butter, etc. would be good for those of us too brain dead to look there . I can't be the only one. |-Tea - Just decaff and regular? Now you don't need 40 kinds like our last place. It definite did NOT make up for their tasteless eggs and gravy. A few more choices and some green tea options...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE! NOT SAFE!!! I was here due to my MOM of 83 in the hospital, and had been at this hotel several weeks for days at the time over the summer. This stay on September 2024 was not what I found it to be. We were on our 2nd day, when we discovered at 9 pm entry and after we requested the morning, that no one cleaned our room- AGAIN.I am thinking no issues I will just walk down to the front desk and request for a towel and just deal with it. I have done this numerous time in other establishments. While some staff members were courteous, and why I previously stay. I found ONE LADY unhelpful when I raised my concerns. For instance, the response to my request for additional toiletries was responded with "NO, you need to bring ALL your DIRTY linens down and I will give you one towel and sheets for you to make your own bed, and I will not take any attitude" ||PROBLEM there were two people, myself and my husband, and NOW I am supposed to clean my own room I paid for the hotel service to do and I can only have one TOWEL. When I attempted to politely disagree with her and attempted to request that I only needed two towels, I had been at a hospital COVID ward all day, and needed to have a shower. I made the mistake of asking for her name and Manager which I was harshly denied. She began to threaten me, she would call the police, and cussed me to where I felt for my SAFETY.|| I could not stay at this hotel any longer. We packed our bags and immediately checked out and drove overnight instead of sleeping in safety. I have traveled and stayed in 100's - of hotels all over the United States and NEVER once have I felt a threatened for my safety until this COMFORT INN in DOTHAN AL EAST SIDE BY THE SOUTHEAST ALABAMA MEDICAL CENTER_ NEVER...
Read moreThe room was spacious and clean (other than a dirty facecloth hanging over the shower that was obviously just missed). There should be a designated smoking area other than right in front of the main entry as we had to walk through a cloud of smoke to enter. There were two ladies behind the front desk having a conversation so I was ignored until they finished and one was obviously leaving at the end of her shift. Finally the other one turned around and looked at her computer and asked if I had my ID but didn’t bother welcoming me or even making eye contact. Service could definitely be improved! The hotel was quiet, good AC temperature in the rooms, and the breakfast was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and there were lots of pillows. Breakfast: In addition to two kinds of sausages and omelettes, there were biscuits with gravy, hot oatmeal, waffles, individually wrapped bread, bagels, and muffins, fruit, yogurts, and hot&cold cereals. A lady kept the food well stocked. Check out was quick as I was told to just leave the card on the front counter. Overall, good value for...
