If I could give this ER a zero rating I would but you have to give it at least 1 star in order to write a review. Looking at my after visit summary from my ER visit, I realized how people lie so easily to cover themselves. It says that I saw him at 11:04am on the 7th of Jan. 25. I guess I had totally skipped seeing the triage nurse because I had to wait almost an hour to see her and I did not get to the ER until 11am. There is no way I saw him in 4 min….4-5 hours maybe a little bit more accurate. I don’t even know why you see a triage nurse when you don’t even read her notes. When I explained to her everything he said I denied (you can’t deny something you were never asked about). The dizziness, being lightheaded…etc. 4hours later when I finally get to see him on the other side of a partition in the room where they took my blood in the lobby. I was in no bed,My blood pressure reading was 162/90 when they took it the first time because I’m in so much agony. The notes said my cardiovascular rhythm was normal and rate was normal. I had no pulmonary effort was normal no respiratory distress. I’m in there crying my eyes out. I’m all over the place. He tells me the first time that there’s nothing wrong with me. Gives me a Gi cocktail to see if that helps. Tells me to wait back out in the lobby to see if it gets better and if it does to knock on the door, tell them I’m fine and I can leave. The nurse come out into the lobby to ask me it the cocktail helped. It told her the nausea settled down but everything else was the same. I’m so miserable. 15-20min later the nurse calls me back into the room in the lobby. He tells me nothing is wrong…I’m crying at this point. He finally agrees to order a CT scan. BP is 150/100. I go back to wait into the lobby. To wait for that. Finally, have that done. He tells me the results. Inflammation. He asks me if I want some antibiotics. I’m thinking, why do I need antibiotics if there is nothing wrong. I was not resting comfortably and without distress. I just gave up and said I’m fine because I know nothing else was going to be done if I had to go thru all that to get a scan. So I left the same way I came in minus the nausea. I don’t even care anymore. I was given my discharge papers. No explanation on follow up care. I was not told to come to the ER if I was having any more problems. I read on the paper work when I got home and it said I was to follow up with my doctor asap but if there is nothing wrong why do I need to do so asap. There were people waiting before I had even got there. This lady could not even sit down she was standing against the wall was because she couldn’t sit down because she was having terrible pelvic pain. She finally went for her ultrasound while I was out waiting in the lobby for the second time. There was another lady in a wheelchair covered in a blanket having issues with her chest(heart). She was scared. She was just waiting along with everyone one else. I guess you have to be near death or come in on a stretcher to be taken seriously. There is no patient care. We wait for hours to be seen. Sit at their computer to type what the patient is saying. Take their blood. Get the lab results. Tell them the results(partially or not at all). Tell them they are fine. Here’s this drug(telling them I wouldn’t take that yet) and send them on their way. Why did I even...
Read moreLike everyone else I had to give one star so I could Comment. This hospital is deplorable, the waiting area is nasty, and the wait time is ungodly! There was an old man who had been there since 4 pm and when I walked out at 1 am the poor old man was still sitting there. Most the people had been there 5 plus hours. And I have never seen them hook you up to an IV in the waiting room, but they did. There was a child who was hacking his head off and they didn't even offer a breathing treatment. This place needs to be review and revised of staff, procedures, and protocol. I was asked my social security and when I tried to say it low so that no one could hear it she repeated it out loud. I know I better now receive a bill because I walked out without having any treatment being provided and with a pick line still in my arm as I ask for them to remove it and no one ever came to do it. So I will be removing it myself at home. Please don't waste your time , energy, or money going here. And if you want to make sure your loved ones are taken care of take them somewhere else.
UPDATE: The next the hospital personnel staff called me three times. The first two calls I sent to voice mail, as I was still sick and now mad. Third call I answered and was ask why I left before being seen, ummm bite you tongue I had to remind myself. Then I said we if you read my review you will k ow why. She then ask if I would like to come back and they would get me seen as soon as I got there. I said that a big NO! She then tells me that my blood platelets are 45 and I have an infection that they found in the blood they drew. And that I should seek medical attention ASAP. WOW you think? I do believe that is why I came to you guys in the first place. I told I would but it would not be them, and I hung up. Several more attempts were made o. Their behalf to call me which I ignored. When I went to my doctor he had me admitted in mins. I am now on the road to recovery. But this could have ended way worse. Please do not use...
Read moreAbsolutely Unacceptable - AVOID this ER at ALL COSTS!
My recent experience here on Thursday night was, without a doubt, the worst ER visit I have ever had across multiple states, including Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, and even Eufaula, AL. "Horrendous" and "unacceptable" barely begin to cover it.
My husband and I arrived around 11 PM because I had been feeling incredibly unwell for days, and my symptoms had become unbearable. After checking in and getting my blood pressure taken, I was left to sit in the waiting room. And sit. And sit. For over five hours.
Around 2 AM, I was called back for blood work, presumably so it would be ready when I finally got seen. The problem is, I was never seen. We watched as people would disappear behind the doors, but nobody seemed to be coming back out, leading us to believe the wait inside was just as brutal, if not worse. We overheard one couple who had been there since 4 PM finally get called back after 3 AM—that's an 11-hour wait!
By 4 AM, it became painfully clear that I wasn't going to be seen before my husband had to leave for work at 8 AM. He desperately needed at least a couple of hours of sleep, so we were forced to leave without me ever receiving any medical attention. We got home at 5 AM, and he barely managed a few hours of rest before starting his workday.
What truly infuriates me is that I was experiencing chest pain, dizziness, lightheadedness, and high blood pressure. These are not minor symptoms to be left unchecked for hours on end. God forbid I had passed out in that waiting room before anyone even bothered to look at me. The lack of care and concern for patients in such distress is frankly appalling.
I will never, ever step foot in Southeast Health ER again, no matter how dire my medical situation might be. They do not deserve even one star, but unfortunately, I had to give a rating to leave this review. This facility desperately needs to re-evaluate its patient flow and prioritize actual...
