Unfortunately, my experience was not as good as most of the reviewers. My sister and brother in law had a pretty nice room though. Ours was dirty (see pics), there was some dust one the floor and a plug was lying on the ground. There was a spider in the bathroom, there were stains on the bathroom door. We had no extra toilet paper and had to knock at my sister’s door to get some (this should not occur in any hotel). The bed was noisy as well. In addition, there were plugs accessible to young children everywhere in the room. I don’t have a kid, but i imagine parents would not like this. We had to call when we arrive as there was no one around. A young man came to give us keys and get payment, which was not cheap. For this price, i would have expected at least an extra roll of toilet paper and a clean room. The place felt as if it was not completely opened, but i would imagine with the foliage season coming up in a week or two, they should be ready to handle the crowd. We had breakfast and the waffles were good. I could not wait to leave. I wish i had the experience other reviewers described, or even my sister and brother in law, who got a nice room. Unfortunately, our room rate was not in consequence of what we got. If you get room 1, make sure they have remedied to these problems.

What a place! From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed. Tim, the owner/innkeeper was very friendly and accommodating. Check-in was easy. There is a fireplace in the “sitting room” that is always running. Music was streaming from one of the televisions at a great volume, just loud enough to hear but not being a bother, and it made the feel comforting. The room was comfortable and a good size. The inn is clean and comfortable. Tim was always available for questions and interacted nicely with guests. I come to the area annually and stayed at an inn that closed, I’ve been trying for a few years to find a new “go-to” place and have now found it. The parking lot is a good size, the lot and walkway were cleared of snow pretty nicely. It’s close to restaurants, Mount Snow ski area, and Timber Creek for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. The moover shuttle (free rides all over the area) runs right past the inn. Although this isn’t an official moover stop, you can flag down the shuttle and they will stop and upon retiring to the inn the shuttle will also stop to drop you off.

What a wonderful find! Ended up here thanks to a mess up by Expedia and the Inn at Mount Snow going out of business. Discovered I needed a place to stay and was thrilled that the Doveberry Inn had a room available and only was just a mile further south. This hotel is beautifully kept, has been updated smartly, and is a great value. My only regret is that I was unable to stay for breakfast because I had my heart set on visiting Dot's in downtown Wilmington. Next time I will definitely try the breakfast here!

Review Not too sure why this place gets such a high score? The Dovebury is very tired and quite grubby in places. Scuffed walls and doors and an unpleasant aroma when you enter the building. The guy who greeted us was very warm and welcoming but the ‘hotel’ is essentially unmanned. We had a Deluxe room but struggle to see what about it was Deluxe. To be fair the bed was large and comfortable. Bed linen was clean, as was toilet, sink and bath and the shower was fine however… walls and doors were marked scuffed and stained in some places and skirting boards quite grubby and dusty, ill fitting curtains with dusty windowsills. Towels were barely bigger than a hand towel. No hair dryer as previously advertised. We did have a balcony which had lovely views of some stunning foliage….. but no furniture to sit on out there. Breakfast is described as continental but was very basic! All served on disposable plates, cups and plastic cutlery which go straight in to a large uncovered dustbin in the breakfast room, therefore not very environmentally friendly! NO BREAKFAST PROVIDED AT ALL on the second day of our stay and no one on the premises to speak to about this! There is a number to ring if you have any issues with your stay but you absolutely should not have to call someone to tell them them that the standard hotel breakfast had not been served! We had to go out and find a restaurant and pay for breakfast in the end as we were moving on and needed to get going. The thing is, we paid over $200 a night for bed and breakfast to stay at the Dovebury but it falls well below the standard of the many other hotels we have stayed in for the same cost or less during our travels the States. Dovebury offers a very poor customer experience and is not value for money! It’s more akin...

Host offered use of refrigerator off of bar area as I had medications that required refrigeration. Refrigerator was dirty and disgusting. It also stored breakfast accommodations. Ceiling fan paddles were loose host offered to fix or provide screwdriver for us to fix. We declined as it was our last night. Lights did not work in room and only one receptacle worked. Host was surprised and offered to look at circuit breaker to fix. No towel service was offered or informed of where spare towels could be located. Toilet lid was yellow and sticky. Mold on tub seams. Vacated room door left open on first floor with unmade bed for two days. Our room had oder unless air was on. No TV in room did offer streaming but did not have laptop to access. Continental breakfast had peeled back wrapper on butter and cream cheese previously used not on ice or in container. Hooks on walls in lobby and hallways for pictures but no pictures. Host was mostly unseen or vacant from premises. Cost of room was over priced based on value received. I could accept subpar performance if cost of accommodations were more appropriate. Disappointed based on cost. I expected more and felt I should not have had to report deficiencies to the owner. He was in my estimation an absentee owner. I know he will make excuses as he did on...
