So impressed with the Kitzhof Inn. It exceeded my expectations. I did hours of researching local accommodations prior to booking, and Kitzhof just stood out to us. There were no other places that had the same rustic, lodge aesthetic, that made it so extra cozy. Everything about the decor and layout was so thoughtful. Our room was perfect and had everything we needed. It had that cozy at home feeling without feeling like youāre a stranger in someone elseās home.
The breakfasts were my favorite part of the day, the dining room was beautiful and they had a menu of made-to-order items. Everything was so delicious, though some standouts were the blueberry pancakes and home fries. They had cookies and cider in the afternoons after we returned from our ski day, and on Saturday had corned beef and cabbage waiting too. Another highlight was the reading nook. My partner and I had a relaxing afternoon reading on the couches there by the window.
The owners Andrew and Erin were welcoming and friendly while still giving us our space. Andrew also offered us homemade cookies which were gochujang sugar cookies. Iām a huge fan of unique flavor combos and love things with a bit of spice. It was a super nice surprise treat!
The game room/common area was also very cute. They had a selection of games, my partner and I played a game of chess. There was also a bar area where you can make a cup of tea or coffee anytime. I love a good tea at night so this was a great touch to feel at home.
We did not use the ski & boot room, and personally would have loved if the hot tub was still around, but Iād still choose to come back to the Kitzhof over another spot in the area despite that. You can always do a day pass at the naturespa if you want the hot tub experience. The Moover bus system was also very convenient for getting around. The location was close to anything we needed.
I would absolutely come back and Iām sure itās beautiful to visit in the summer as well.
Thank you Andrew & Erin (and Debbie!) We appreciate you making our trip...
Ā Ā Ā Read more4 of us on motorcycles were traveling through the Berkshires on August 30/31. We had jotted down several places to stay in different towns in Vermont, depending on where we ended up. The Kitzhof Inn was on our list, and we headed over and were met by the owners, Andrew and Erin. They had rooms available, and we checked in and were provided a quick tour of the property. This small inn has approximately 20 rooms and common areas on two floors. We were looking for a place to sleep that provided some outdoor space for cigars, libations, and storytelling. This place did not disappoint. Andrew and Erin are so accommodating, and they make you feel like you have known them for years. The rooms are small but comfortable. Just what you need between days of riding. The place is on Rt 100 and there is a small retail strip directly across the street (you could walk) with a general store - liquor and food, and a bar next to that. There were about 5 restaurants within a few miles. This is a perfect location to spend a night or use it as a jump-off for a few days of riding. There is a fire pit area with everything you need to relax, start a fire, and spend the night tipping back a few and enjoying a cigar. Andrew came out and shared some history with us for part of the night. ||Andrew and Erin provided a great breakfast: pancakes, eggs cooked to order, bacon, home fries, juice, and coffee. By this time, he and his wife were part of our group, and we spent time having breakfast and sharing conversations with them. ||The Kitzhof is biker-friendly and hosts many groups from the New England area. There is plenty of room for groups of 15-40. Several courses are nearby during the season, and the Kitzhof also caters to golfers. Obviously, at the base of Mt. Snow, this is a great ski and stay location. ||We plan to return next year as we could not have had a better experience. The place is cute and comfortable, and Andrew and Erin make you feel like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kitzof Inn in West Dover, Vermont and let me tell you, it was an absolute treat! From the moment I walked through the door, I felt like family.
Let's start with the most important part: breakfast. Holy cow, those guys know how to whip up morning breakfasts! The pancakes were fluffy like a cloud, the omelettes were packed with cheesy goodness, and the bacon... oh, that crispy bacon was good. Trust me, you won't leave the breakfast table hungry.
The rooms here were cozy as can be. The beds were so comfortable, I didn't want to get out of them in the morning. And the little touches, like the rustic decor and the soft linens, made me feel right at home.
Now, let's talk about the pool. After a day of hiking and sightseeing, taking a dip in that pool was pure bliss. The water was refreshing, and it felt so good to just float and unwind. And when I needed a break from the sun, the lounge area was the perfect spot to relax, read a book, or strike up a conversation with fellow travelers. It was a great way to connect and share stories.
But you know what made my stay truly special? The innkeepers themselves. They were like the hosts you wish you had at every place you visit. They were warm, welcoming, and full of great recommendations for things to do in the area. Their love for their community and their passion for creating a memorable experience shone through in every interaction. They made me feel like part of the family, and that's something you don't often find.
In a nutshell, Kitzoff Inn is the real deal. It's not fancy or pretentious, but it's genuine and authentic. If you're looking for a cozy retreat in Vermont with delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms, a nice pool to relax in, and innkeepers who treat you like long-lost friends, then this is the place for you. I can't wait to go back and experience that warm Vermont hospitality...
