Coffee Barn Café — Restaurant in Dover

Coffee was good, but the service was the rudest I've experienced in a coffee shop. The barista clearly didn't want us there from the moment we walked in, gave short answers, and seemed annoyed when I didn't have the entire bagel list memorized. The wifi also didn't work on 3 devices we tried, and when I asked about the WiFi the barista's response was "Well, my systems are working".

While we worked on out laptops tethered off of our phones she did chat nicely to other patrons but after a few hours there we realized that a lot of their conversations were complaining about outsiders coming in and trying to "take the town over" (potentially referring to us since we were visiting)

So in conclusion, don't go here. They don't hire nice people, and will treat you drastically different if they think you're not a local.

It's a shame because I really wanted to like this place after being recommended by some locals but I can't really recommend it after being treated so poorly, and as someone who lived in VT for a while, it makes me worried that some people think this is...

I seriously have never given a bad review but honestly had the worst experience for the ~5 minutes we were in this cafe. The second we walked in the woman (she’s been referred to a million times in other reviews - just search “woman”) was extremely rude and curt with us, rolling her eyes and acting very impatient. When we asked to take the coffees to go while she was making them I could not BELIEVE how rude she was. While we waited for our $6.50 apiece lattes (no joke, more expensive than Starbucks) she chatted nicely to another man about personal things - clearly he lived in the area. I used to work in a coffee shop and this is a clear case in point of a nasty staff worker (I’ve worked with a few) who only cares to be nice to locals, and chooses to be rude to visitors since they believe they won’t be back. We might have been, if she’d acted decently, but will certainly not now, and will make sure to let our friends in the area know. I hope the owners of this place start paying attention to all these terrible reviews, and replace her with...

We asked for a cold brew (which is on the menu) and the worker said they didn’t have it (they did). They same took place regarding the frozen hot chocolate. The worker said they could do cold foam, and included it on the order, but whoever made the coffee just didn’t include it. In addition to all the mess-ups, the drinks just sucked. We order a strawberry smoothie, and the worker just stared at us and repeated, “Mango?”. And finally, they gave us the wrong drink, and when we told them so, the man just said, “No it’s not, I made it”
